      I always find comments like this so curious when it's not directed at the actual person. Like, why say it at all.
      That said, sometimes you get caught up in the moment. No need to be so judgemental. Since you're not talking directly to LaDon (the rider), let's just celebrate the positive.

    LeDon has to be a top CAT 3, or maybe CAT 2. He is technically much better than this group. How he maneuvered to the front and then timed his sprint was just at a higher level. His victory “speech” was a bit odd, but, hey, who knows what was going on during the race.

    This reminds me of when I finally got good at crits and started loving them (I was a good Cat. 2 before I quit racing). I sucked at crits until a friend of mine advised me to not used the brakes too much and not scrub off too much speed before the corners. Stay near the front for the whole race, carry the momentum, and (although it depends on the finishing straight) attack before the last corner so you've got a gap BEFORE the corner. One rider can get through a corner much faster than a pack can, so you'll carry that gap into the finishing straight.

  • @Garrick42
    @Garrick42 10 дней назад +1

    That was awesome. Never say die. And as for the lack of control at the front, that can be a boon if you're not a great sprinter. My one win as a Cat. 3 in Colorado was when the front of the peloton hesitated with 600 m to go in a crit. I was literally at the back just sitting in after being in multiple breaks, and when the bunch got wide, I was able to sneak by on the downwind side and held on for the win. Fun times.

    Going last to first in the last lap is cool, but he ruined it for me with the yells, sorry.
