This temple qualifies to be one of the world's 7 wonders. I don't understand why no effort is taken to present this magnanimous temple to be one of the seven wonders of the world. I further don't understand what is so great about Taj Mahal that it is one of the seven wonders.

I stayed in Thanjavur for four years. I really miss those days. We used to go Big Temple always. It is such a peaceful place. Tamil people have really preserved their monuments & culture very well.

India is always rich in these techniques. Another example is Sun Temple of Konark Odisha. That was also made with carving big stones and of a height of estimated 230 feet. Interesting fact is that the upper stone or the stone at the top is placed by a 12 year old child "Dharmapada". Really Indians are great in these skills.

Dravida is a term given by Northern people to the south people including people from karnataka,Andhra,kerala. But this architecture only belongs to Tamilnadu no other south state don't have this kind of architecture and more over it was built by Tamil king Raja Raja cholan. more over peor of karnataka Andhra Kerala don,t call them self as dravida n and they didn't accept the dravida concepts & policies. But free standing temples started with the Gujaras, The temple rose at the same time with the Pandyas. But this architecture only belongs to Tamilnadu no other south state don't have this kind of architecture and more over it was built by Tamil king Raja Raja cholan. more over peor of karnataka Andhra Kerala don,t call them self as dravida n and they didn't accept the dravida concepts & policies. Then why should only people of Tamilnadu call our self as Dravidian. we would like to call us Tamilians not as Dravidian.

It is not Dravidian architecture.. the word "Dravidian" was coined by the British. Considering the temple was built a thousand yrs ago where did "Dravidian" architecture come from??
'Dravida' in Vedic is people of the southern part . That's why . If you are to follow architecture , then you have to say it Chola architecture and not associate language with it .

Gupta temples were mostly brick . That's why the structures were demolished by Muslims. Look I love the tamil architecture. But free standing temples started with the Gujaras, The temple rose at the same time with the Pandyas. The real reason why temples evolved so late in the Vedic civilisation is because the Hindus were more into mind science . Yogas, yagnas , altars ,etc. So no temples required.
