Coz people come to Goa for booze and party and 85% of Indians think it's a party place. There are many temples and churches in Goa not as ancient as these but still very much present. All the states have their own temples, rituals and techniques for various things. People choose to ignore it and follow the herd, now with the influencer and insta shit people just do things for grams.

It is not the only vav in Gujarat , there are other like adalaj ni vav , Ambapur vav and other small vav... Which has similar construction.
Actually their are 3-4 methods to build these stepwells .
I've also seen Praveen mohan video and i want to say that May be at that time the architecture may have got inspired by temples to built these vav....but it is definitely not inverted temples.

Patan used to be known as Anahilapataka or Anilvada and was the capital of the Solanki and Vaghela dynasties. It used to be one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the world with so many huge temples. It was a circular city with the Royal Palace being at the centre. The Rani Ki Vav Stepwell and the Sahastralinga Talav Reservoir sat on the outskirts the city and provided drinking water to the citizens. The city was largely sacked and destroyed by the Delhi Sultanate and again by the Gujarat Sultanate. Now, apart of the ruins of the Rani Ki Vav and and Sahastralinga Talav, nothing remains of this ancient city.

More than the architecture, I am amazed by the Patola weaving technique where the thread is coloured first and after weaving the patterns emerge correctly! I have seen the Thai weaves inspired by the Patola weaves and must say that the variety of colours and designs used in India are way ahead.

These patolas were exported the world over and especially east asian countries during ancient times. These take months to make and cost upwards of 1 lakh rupees. There are only 3 families in patan that now possess the art to make authentic patan patolas.
