Favoloso!!! These are all glorious. It's so wonderful to see you truly becoming the magnificent noir-futurist, Victorian gothic butterfly, rainbow space villainess you were doubtless born to be! Thank you for bringing us along for the ride. I thought I'd never seen anything better than the green feather number and then BAM! Toy tricorn, BAM! Black saucer surrealist pompom joy. I just can't 💚🖤💚
Buttons and Bows, I love that shop! They have spectacular hats!! I have a dream that I'm sitting in front of a vanity and am trying on an endless array of gorgeous hats. Aaahhh you're living the dream!😍💖💖
Oh no! My grandparents donated a bunch of stuff before I was old enough and into vintage, luckily now they know to send anything they find in the back of the garage to me 😂❤
So many beautiful, beautiful hats! I love so many of them. But above all l just love sharing in your joy and delight as you describe and put them on. Everything you say is, well, just perfect - like the hats!
Thank you so much for sharing your collection with us. It's so lovely and it's a very fun, indulgent watch! I don't know why, but I love a hat with a veil. Thanks again! 😘😘
Love them all! Thank you for sharing your passion. X I photograph all my shoes and hats that have to be packed away, then stick photos on the inside of the wardrobe to remind me to wear them
Oh my god, those hats are TO DIE FOR. I'm so happy for you for making such amazing finds! I love your show and tell videos, and most of all when they're about hats.
I love collection videos because I just love to see things I didn’t know existed! I can’t ‘see’ what many of these hats look like when I see them in stores but you can always tell how great they will be on!
Seriously great collection. My dream is a dressing room...a wall of shoes & bags...a wall of hats & accessories... then the DRESSES♡. Thanks for sharing. I live on the Island, and vintage can be pricey but every now and then you'll find 1 hat, gloves, purse, shoes ♡♡
While I'm not much of a hat wearer, I adore to watch your collection videos - it's *~magnificent~* Btw, on a topic of not wearing things that are packed in storage - is it because you don't want to go through the hassle of unpacking it or you forget about specific items when they are "out of sight out of mind" when you plan outfits? Because I have the second problem and in my case digital wardrobe planning apps came to rescue c': God it was annoying to photograph but now I finally wear all my jewelry because the app helps to _remember_ I have stuff somewhere in the boxes
I scrolled down here to ask a similar question! Some of my things definitely don't get worn enough just because they fade to the periphery of my memory if not easily visible.
Do you have specific wardrobe planning apps you like? I have been looking for something like that to digitally organize my collection. I didn't think of wardrobe planning, and was thinking more along the lines of curating, so I eyeballed the boxes app, but never went for it. I wasn't convinced that it fulfilled my needs. I'd love a suggestion! Thanks.
@@daemein I personally use Acloset, but the main features I utilise are outfit planning/tracking and some statistics. Talking about storage, there are some parts of the app you can use for that, like tags or comments under each item, but this app isn't designed for storage organisation specially
glass fronted cupboards that keep the dust and moths out might help. You'd need to make sure it's out of direct sunlight to prevent fading though. Standard cupboards that you have to open before deciding could be a compromise. Hats that require shape support beyond tissue paper can go onto decorated stands. Styrofoam covered in tissue paper or papier mache formed over bowls or balloons can be stuck to cupboard walls. Just a thought. Vintage display cabinet maybe?
It is indeed the unpacking and finding the exact hat I'm after that is the trouble, they are safe but not easily accessible! I simply need more space as an accessory hoarder, a room sized closet should do nicely someday...✨
Amazing, beautiful collection. Your hats are tangible reminders of what a different world existed in the 1930’s-40’s. We are an extremely casual culture today. Women enjoyed being feminine and dressed beautifully back then. I’m going to research how and why veils came to be such a thing, along with gloves it may have been a desire for modesty. Thanks for this wonderfully fun video!
I was coming to comments to ask Bianca to do a video on veils ! I am 59, so vaguely remember Catholic Women wearing "chapel veils", but was never a "girly" girl - so didn't pay attention ! I am Loving the really sculptural hats ! Can you even study hat making nowadays? Are there millinery schools in the USA ? The great thing is you can find and source materials easily now. You could make hats from the wool of Heritage Breeds of sheep ! That would be something I would love ! I wonder if you could source veils from either India or China, since both are historically involved with silk products. Or perhaps, South America - using either baby Alpaca (super fine!) or their "cousin" Vicuna's ! (Super super fine hair!)
The hat from O'Neil's in Akron. O'Neil's was the top drawer department store; someone buying something at O'Neil's knew they had just bought something enviable, desirable and smart. As in a smart new hat.
Akron was probably quite a stylish place back in the day, when you consider how many rubber executives’ wives there would have been in town. With country club events and travel, they probably expected O’Neil’s to outfit them smartly.
The world is a really hard place to be right now. This gives you joy so don’t let anyone seeing you. It doesn’t matter if you have 200 hats a year that you add to your collection; it gives you joy so just do what makes you happy.
Hi, Yes!!! Hats!!! I do adore another hat video. I love hats. Congratulation on your hats. I can' say that I have a favorite. All of them are fantastic as per your usual. I will await a video about your new costume jewelry in the future. Yours, Ann
I loved it. I remember seeing my mom ware what looked like a big black plate on her hair back in the 50s and she looked gorgeous in it. She wore it with a red dress and black gloves.
This is so fun. Wish I could have these myself. I always wore hats when I was younger. Now it's just fascinators, or berets. Thanks for the great show, love that you try them all on for us.
I wish I looked good in hats. Sadly I do not, but you!!! You look stunning in all of your hats. They are all just beautiful little pieces of art and I love when you show your collections. ❤️
Once again my heart is a-flutter seeing these amazing hats. Thank you so much for continuing to bring such interesting and inspiring content to RUclips!
The hair looks beautiful! And the need to redo it later is a small price to pay when you're playing with hats. The green hat with the veiling and the yellow feather looks like the veil falls close enough to your face that it could double as a fashionable mosquito netting. Perfect for a walk on a summer day to keep the bugs out of your face! And, let's be honest, summer is basically bug season. A glamourous fashion and function accesory, and you absolutely shoul have one in more colors! Oh! A tan one to go with an adventure fashion outfit!
Just wanted to say, cardboard isn't acid free, so the piece structuring the little minty fur hat might be happy to be replaced with a piece of acid free mat board or something of the sort. :) love the whole collection
I am so thankful for you, Bianca, otherwise I would remain in ignorance of hat etiquette. 🤣😂😻 Your collection is beautiful. All I wear is a homemade topless, denim, sun hat, or a welding hat. No worries, I don't go to town very often, but I do romp around the ranch, harass the fish pond with my fishing pole, or repair fencelines. 🙃 Have an AWESOME weekend. 😻
I love your collection! Mine is not nearly so vast, but I adore all of my pieces. Sadly, a few of my antique pieces were used on a wall display by my mother and became sun damaged. I love them just the same, but do not wear them. I think rescuing vintage and antique fur is a worthwhile endeavor and I would wear that minty colored fur hat often. I encourage people to honor the animal(s) who gave their lives in this way. I have a few antique fur items passed down to me by my ancestors that I still put on for special occasions. I refuse to buy new fur to be clear, but fur that existed before I was born ought to be worn. Thanks for sharing your collections!
Not sure if someone has mentioned this already, but in reference to the sequined evening hat, what we do for dusting at the costume collection where I volunteer is use a low-powered vacuum, but separated from the item by a piece of window screen. That way, even if something (like a sequin) comes off in the process, it won't get sucked in and you can reattach it. That might be a good solution to your issue, and it can be gentler than compressed air depending on the vacuum!
You can similarly attach hosiery over the entire nozzle of a vaccum cleaner with a rubber band to pick up objects like sequins and beading that may have hit the floor already during the cleaning process. I have also found a mini keyboard vacuum that is very low powered and has a small brush at the tip of it that works great for cleaning the interior hat band area of felted wool hats (the brush helps loosen the dust out while also fluffing out the felted wool enough to make it like new again).
And yet again, another super collection! I cannot decide which is my fave but, I rather like the 'cat ears' hat....Super cute! Thanks for showing this amazing hat collection Bianca, such a joy to watch! x
Just watching again, as you do..well, as I do, anyway! That hat at about 8:15ish, with the green feathers is beautiful and looks just great on you!👏🏻👏🏻
Could you do a series on how to wear the hats? The way you demoed the different styles of how to wear a pillbox hat, really told me I have no idea how to wear them...and the picture with the snood and tilted hat was interesting, too. And if the same style was worn through different decades, did they wear it different ways throughout those decades? Also, film noir dame is a great feeling! Also, that small tricorn is amazing!!!
I always learn so much from you sharing your collection, and Thank you for doing so before you packed them away. I do have to say that you hooked me with your beaded beetle and moth work. I even completed a beautiful moth necklace and I am planning a Luna Moth necklace so thanks for sharing ❤
Wonderful collection! I'm a bit obsessed with hats. I was just on ebay looking at 1940's hats and saw some amazing and very unique ones; a black velour openwork style that would resemble a spider perched on your head, perfect for Halloween! A cute 30's ? sailor style beanie; perfect for a stroll on the boardwalk; A black velour beanie pillbox hybrid with a rolled stalk on top which has a length of fringe hanging down the side, some Fez vibes but so cute; there was an authentic halo bonnet style with a chin strap bow, wholesome and demure; A Top Banana large halo hat with brim and tropical leaf design, I actually thought it was a reproduction since the colors were so bright and clean. Quite a standout! I thought of your channel when I saw them. Thanks for showing your collection, oh there was also a small round fruit and flower netted confection with the original hair combs.
I kept wanting to comment on the hat you were wearing, and then I would see the next one, and I wanted to comment on it too!!!! I loved the olive feather ones, both are just stunning. the vintage flowered one that was an early gift was stunning too. and the straw tilt. just yum.
As always, your hats are quite glorious. Boss Vintage is so wonderful. I nabbed a pair of dark green gloves the last time I was in. The tricorn was just spectacular!
Bianca, you look so spectacular in your hats. I, too, love hats although mine are not vintage (at least the ones I wear). Thank you for sharing your new additions to your collection. Take care!
Wow you do really well hunting down the good hats and coordinating them. I’m here trying to style a hat for 1944 World War II hanger dance and it’s summer look and I wish I had that tricorn one because that one you can wear for hundreds of years and it’s still in style 11:30 ha ha I guess the bonus to this one is it has a polkadot band and I have polkadot matching white and black gloves 🧤 giant brooch pearls and dancing shoes 👟 👠
Officially not a hat person….in fact im one of those philistines that , when handed a hat, turns it over in my hands with a confused expression, and a plaintive “so what do I do with this? I don’t even know which way round it goes” However, I don’t sew with silk either but I’m as happy to watch you sew some gorgeous confection from taffeta, as I am to watch you getting excited over your headgear lol I like passionate people :)
I think you should have a retro weekend, every one that can make it meet up somewhere and show off our vintage and vintage inspired ensembles. If not in person, there's always Zoom.
Oh, soooo beautiful 😍 🤩 These hats are so beautiful ❤️ What a wonderful collection! They all suit you so well! I'm new to your channel and I'm truly addicted already! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Why did we, as a society, with morals and standards, ever transition away from wearing hats? Why?? Excellent video. Fill me with envy, why don't you. I need more good hats.
I would have thought that the hair should be styled over the band/elastic. It would impede taking off the hat, but women were expected to keep hats on, so no issue? Obviously for this video one would simply put the elastic over top of the hair, but I’d have imagine Bianca would describe that one “would” style the hair overtop if that had been the norm. The stiff loops on the first yellow one, seem very odd, visually to me. Was this something you usually saw? Maybe I just haven’t seen too many pictures specifically of the of the side back of people’s heads.
Yes, hats with plain elastic definitely goes under the hair. Many years ago I found a little, late 30s, black half halo and couldn't quite "get" the elastic so...mum to the rescue (born 1922) showed me how easily it laid under the hair. And it stayed in place during a snow storm.
As a general rule, decorative or matching bands go over the hair, and elastics and little combs are hidden in the hair. Many 1940's hats like a few of mine seen here have matching felt or fabric straps that were worn over the hair, and the loops or bands are sometimes additionally decorated with flowers and such as seen in these examples www.pinterest.com/pin/93801604725206458/ www.pinterest.com/pin/460563499403653836/ www.pinterest.com/pin/460563499400313347/ www.pinterest.com/pin/460563499400836615/ www.pinterest.com/pin/460563499369012539/
Oh how I love a hat!! I have way too many 😄 and completely share your enthusiasm. Oh the tricorn, I mean what!! Fantastic, you made me giggle! And I had no idea what casein was made from, often seen it as buttons so guess sequins could be made of it too? This made superb viewing, thank you 🥰

Thanks for showing this amazing hat collection Bianca, such a joy to watch! x
Thank you Jo!
Just watching again, as you do..well, as I do, anyway! That hat at about 8:15ish, with the green feathers is beautiful and looks just great on you!👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Loretta!
Thank you Betsy! A moth necklace sounds wonderful for sure! ✨
As a fellow hat lover I think the black with the leaves or feathers is just perfect with the dress you are wearing!
Thank you Wanda!
I love how you call all your hats "buddy" 🥰
Oh my these are just so gorgeous and stylish xxxxxxxxx
You, in the black petal crown hat, look like my beautiful aunt. She wore one almost exactly like that. I loved it when I was a kid and I still do.
She sounds glamorous!
I kept wanting to comment on the hat you were wearing, and then I would see the next one, and I wanted to comment on it too!!!! I loved the olive feather ones, both are just stunning. the vintage flowered one that was an early gift was stunning too. and the straw tilt. just yum.
Thank you! Got to love hats ✨
Wonderful collection, Bianca! You have great taste. Thank you for sharing your hats!
Thank you Mary!
As always, your hats are quite glorious. Boss Vintage is so wonderful. I nabbed a pair of dark green gloves the last time I was in. The tricorn was just spectacular!
Thank you Andy!
A wall of hats would be amazing!
Bianca, you look so spectacular in your hats. I, too, love hats although mine are not vintage (at least the ones I wear). Thank you for sharing your new additions to your collection. Take care!
Thank you Anita!
I love these hats especially the veiled ones, not only do they look great but they keep the bugs out! X x
I cannot wait for you to have a house and start vlogging the building of your dresser room and you can display your collection in all it's glory :D
The dressing room may happen even before the workroom, but both would be fun to go wild with 😍✨
You look great in a hat your collection of hat's is amazing😍
Thank you Carol!
That mini tricorn. I want one just like it. It would go with so many of my things.
The mustard, maybe homemade one is my fav! A hat tutorial would be really interesting!
I think you should have a retro weekend, every one that can make it meet up somewhere and show off our vintage and vintage inspired ensembles. If not in person, there's always Zoom.
I am afraid I personally am far too introverted 😅
I’m stuck isolating with COVID and these hats and your enjoyment of them cheered me up no end.
I hope you're feeling better!
Oh, soooo beautiful 😍 🤩 These hats are so beautiful ❤️ What a wonderful collection! They all suit you so well! I'm new to your channel and I'm truly addicted already! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Thank you!!
Amazing collection! I always learn so much from your videos. My favorite is the mustard colored doughnut hat :-) Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Barbara!
I was trying to figure out my favorite but they are all just so darling 🥰
Why did we, as a society, with morals and standards, ever transition away from wearing hats? Why?? Excellent video. Fill me with envy, why don't you. I need more good hats.
What a joy. You brightened my day.
Thank you
Thank you Katie!
Love the hairdo and the hats!
Thank you Kelly!
Simply Adore all your hats featured
Thank you Julie!
Those pom poms on the last hat though 😍😍😍
You have made me want to pull out the old family albums... my Gran was an absolute fiend for hats.
Sounds like a great gal then!
Those hats are absolutely dreamy! I need more hats in my life. Off to Etsy I go! :D Thanks for sharing your collection!
Thank you so much for sharing your finds! I love these hat videos.
Thank you Victoria!
Your giddiness over these hats is so cute!
Few things make me as excited as vintage accessories 😂✨
I wish the British Royal Family would go vintage hat sometimes. Thanks for sharing your collections.
So true! The devotion to modern hats perplexes me 😅
the tricorn hat did things to me ugh i NEED TO MAKE ONE OR THREE 🤤
A mini pirate hat! I love it 💖
Oh how I love a hat!! I have way too many 😄 and completely share your enthusiasm. Oh the tricorn, I mean what!! Fantastic, you made me giggle! And I had no idea what casein was made from, often seen it as buttons so guess sequins could be made of it too? This made superb viewing, thank you 🥰
Thank you Rowan! I know sequins used to be made of gelatin so nothing would surprise me 😂
@@TheClosetHistorian 🤣 I have a really old book published 1876, gorgeous cover and prints inside, called The Uses of Animal [in the relation to Industry of Man] E Lankester M.D , F.R.S. Oh very very interesting reading indeed!!!! You'd absolutely love it 😀
Nice additions to your collection!
I have about 20 vintage hats, half from my aunt. Absolutely love them. I wish hats would come back in style. Seem the only time I can wear them is Easter or Mother’s Day to church.Ahhh sigh .
Seriously, your aesthetic is 🎆🎇🎆🎇!!!
Thank you Mary! ❤
