- Hey guys. Did a comparison of the two sizes. Hope you get an idea of how the 36 and 40 looks side by side and you can make up your mind on your future purchase on what size you want. Hope this helps. They are both stunning pieces.

36mm is the classic size and designed to blend in with the bracelet to make the whole look more like an expensive bracelet for men than a watch. The 36mm looks better on you. Just my opinion.

Yeah your right. The 36mm, looks like a bracelet almost flows perfectly. But the 40mm does pop out the chain. Regardless both are beautiful watches.
40mm gives the “new money” look.
36mm gives the “old money” look.
Rolex did a good job designing the 40, it’s miles better than the horribly proportioned 41mm day date 2. But seeing them both on your wrist in this video, the 36 just looks so, so much better.

The 36mm looks really nice in your wrist just like the 37mm AP Royal Oak. 40mm upward is a bit big for you. Just my personal opinion.

36 is the best for a no bezel Explorer 1 and a dress Daydate. 37 is the best for a slim bezel Daytona. 40mm is the best for a big bezel Sub&GMT.

Respectfully disagree. This is a formal, dress watch. 40 looks too big even on you.. 40mm size makes it look like a garish sports watch. At 36mm it looks pure class. I honestly feel for women the over sized 40 Daydate and 41 OP is appropriate. Looks like a clunky bangle. feminine. For a business man, the 36mm was and is the right size.

I don't think so. My close friend wears the 36. He's 6ft 4. I've seen the 40 on big guys. It looks showy, less classy. It's the CEO's watch. Conner McGregor looks ridiculous with the 40 on.
I'm only five feet five and 145 lbs. So the 36 works for me. I wear my date just 41 in SS and it doesn't stick out, I can get away with the 41. For me the 40 is just to flashy in yellow gold. I swim with my DD, bicycle, walk.
It feels good. I'm not trying to show off and say, hay everybody look at me.
40mm looks to big on you.. less is more. Great watches

The 118238 bracelet literally has the exact same bracelet configuration as the 40mm. It will not have anymore bracket stretch than the 40mm.

Jeremy Goh yes, there are few reasons why I chose the 40mm over 41. First it’s a newer edition which replaced the 41. Second, the 40mm sits perfectly, i think the size is just perfect can’t be any better. Third, the 41mm looked very bulky, the case was big, the bracelet didn’t feel right. The bezel was just a bit oversized.
40 looks way to big for you. Looks like a gumball machine watch. Go 36 with a champagne dial.
