Yeah, just like the 45/70 has several different power levels depending on firearm, the 450 Bushmaster can be loaded a bit hotter in a bolt action rifle. Real problem there is no published data on it, have to be careful. Thanks for watching!
Bear Creek Ballistics has a good load of a 240 grain all copper bullet @ 2500 fps. Also, Black Butterfly has a 425 grain subsonic load that is very good. 👍
Are you out of the Hard Cast John? I have a new one since I sent you last bunch. A NOE 454-370. Drops a 370g solid. 350+ g CUP and a 310 DEEP CAVERNOUS HP.
Anyone thinking these loads aren't Big Medicine, think again. The standard 30/06 with the 150 gr bullet at 2900 fps has a Power Factor of 435. The 338 Win Mag with a 200 gr bullet at 3000 fps has a Power Factor of 600. The Bushie with the 395 gr cinder block at 1650 fps has a Power Factor of over 650. At 50 yards, this hammer will drop any thin skinned game on the planet, and most of the big critters that can stomp, bite, and eat you.
"Hey, hey Boo-Boo. Here comes 30-06 John carrying a 450 Bushamaster. Grab the picanic basket and let's get out of here!"
Lol. Thanks John!
That's the general idea! Have a great day!
Lots of good bullet options
Yep, pretty much any bullet that can be used in the 454 Casull or 460 S&W can be used. Also the bullet has to feed reliably too. Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Those are good powerful loads 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
Thanks, yep, they work great!
Stay safe!
Interesting video. I have the same rifle. You've developed some powerful rounds.

Yeah, some companies are loading for the stronger bolt action, like I am. Thanks for watching!
Ooh NICE!! ❤❤❤
Thanks!

I still have a few left, work great. Of course those are for my 450 Marlin, not the Bushmaster. That sounds like a nice bullet there!
👍

Thanks! I am going to do some penetration testing with that 395gr.!
