      MISTERBETHERE what I found distracting was not the camera panning quickly, it was that the voice-over did not speak to what the video was showing.

    This is probably the complete opposite of my personal decor style, but it’s absolutely sublime. It feels so clean and contemplative...it’s layered so nicely with the mix of materials that magically feel like they’re from the same designer or even era. You did an incredible job with this home! I really like all the ways you experimented with affordable materials like the drop cloth curtains you bleached and the table lamps that you painted to look like antique wood - that’s thinking creatively for sure! I hope you never lose your passion for finding a deal and DIYing, because you clearly have a knack for it! You should be really proud! I’m so energized to pick up another home DIY project now 💕

  • @liseerenee
    @liseerenee 4 года назад +238

    Really beautiful but I feel like you need to pan back with your camera work and slow down a bit. There’s a lot of fast close-ups that are a little bit dizzying and are too zoomed in to give a full perspective of where we are in your home.

When I see the before pictures, I feel overwhelmed an tend to think buying a new property would be better (and cheaper), but when I see your results, it has been worth it all, and then I consider again buying an old place and remodelling to my taste. Wow, your restoration to you home was an enormous undertaking. You did a beautiful job. As you said, it’s always a work in progress. Your style and finishes are just perfect. As I’ve said to others after viewing their homes, if I feel like I could just move in, it’s a home of my dreams. You and your husband found great solutions to all those quirks that came with the home. I even love how the master bedroom has the flooring repair. (BTW, love the rugs... keeps the room bright). Thanks so much for the tour. ❤️

    I am in the process of trying to update my 1916 craftsman cottage and you given me so many wonderful ideas. I live how you’ve stayed true to your homes roots. I have to say when I saw the round jute rug and you said it was still available I immediately went online and purchased it. I think I’m going to use it as a wall hanging and major focal point in my tiny living room that has a blank wall. Love how you’ve made so many items yourself and have up cycled so many treasures.

I have horses like that everywhere. We have a small alcove up at the top of our vaulted ceiling, and a cousin painted a mural and I have the horses on the shelf up there. That mirror is amazing. You totally did the right thing getting it up there. It’s gorgeous.

      Much easier not to make mistakes when you go all white. Takes far more talent to add color and the more color the harder it gets. Right now minimalism is all the trend...so everyone is going to love this. Wonder how long until the design ideas shift and color comes back in.

    So Beautiful Love Love your Home & Style!!!... Right up my alley, we have neat homes like that in our area in Northern Washington but the market of homes is slim so you cant bet on having a dream home come your way, but yes if it is Gods will! Being a Washington and SoCal girl I am very eclectic, so I LOve old unique pieces that no one has as well as the farmhouse style yet midcentury retro, etc.... you have such an effortless way of finding cohesiveness with the look and flow of that in your Home! I just found your channel yesterday but I am already Obsessed. What you're doing with guiding and teaching skills is just what we need to refine our own Decorating! The camera goes too fast. I'm trying to take something in and "Pooof!" it's gone ... and then the camera rests on the ceiling fan which is without any interest at all. But OTHERWISE ... FABULOUS work you've done and just please let us look at things, and the room in it's entirety, longer. This reminds me of girls who model and keep moving from side to side when they just need to stand still and relax. Then move, then stand still. It takes a minute for the eye to take everything in. Watch old movies and you'll die they are so slow. But things made now are too fast and make us anxious. Good luck.

    Now this is a makeover!!! Fantastic redesign that honors the history and architecture of the period. Wonderfully designed and so much attention to detail that truly fits the home perfectly. Ship lap is the best. All these up-cycled diy pieces make my heart happy. Looks like a magazine.

    While there are some "stagey" pockets to the styling, all in all, you have a great design sense. This is a house to be lived in and create a real-life with authentic traditions/memories. Well done.

    Oh just love your home. I get so many ideas from your tutorials. So funny in your downstairs bathroom where you showed the little half shelf for your toilet paper, I have one of them in storage which is green and for some reason I couldn't get rid of it. Well now I will go and paint it white and place that in my bathroom. Im decorating my house farmhouse/vintage to and love it as we do live on a farm with many cows, horses. Thank you so much for sharing everything and your tutorials. Love Love !!
