I love what you’ve done, but just a suggestion. I would convert the guest bedroom upstairs into Elliott’s office. And then you can convert the room downstairs that’s he’s currently using into Millies playroom. That would give her more floorspace to play in a room dead center in the house, so you can easily keep an eye on her. Plus, then you can move your boxing guy upstairs to his new office, to get him out of your dining room. And you could put a couch in there that folds out into a bed in case you do ever have guests.
I second this idea!!!! Playroom in the current office, move the office upstairs. You’ll love it being central and easy to hear/check-in. Playroom can transition to school (homework) room as she gets older. PS I adore your house, thanks for sharing with us!

I was just thinking about this channel today. I know you don't publish tons of videos so I thought maybe I had missed some since my feed is full of garbage, I was sad and shocked to see it's been 2 years since your last video. I love your projects the style of your content, the voice overs and fake old timey stuff, it's so unique. Hopefully you guys aren't done with youtube and make a return at some point. 👍
King bed and narrow stairs - we went for two long twins with motorized risers and put them together on a king frame and headboard, so there was no problem getting them in and will be no problem getting them out again. Twin sheets but king blankets and duvets. This means we each got the mattress density we prefer, and each can sleep at the best angle for The Snorer and The Bad Back.
Friends of mine did two twin beds screwed them together by the legs and frame and put a rollable matress on top of that. (90cm+90cm, they now have a 180cm wide bed). Also flatpack would solve your problem.
Yes, we did the same and put a king size mattress topper on top. You don't even know there's a gap in the middle. Just make sure you have a bed that holds the sides of the mattress in place, as they can shift around if they're just sitting on top of a spring box.
BTW: King blankets are a concept that's quite uncommon in my country. I'd hate to be subjected to my boyfriends movements and body heat throughout the night. 😅 My blanket is 4x thicker, we just feel heat very differently.
i was watching you guys renovate your living room as a senior in high school, and now i’m seeing the (95%) finished project as a senior in college. growing up from 17 to 21 and watching you guys build this beautiful home and family was like watching my big siblings become real adults. i feel strangely nostalgic and proud of what you guys have accomplished. congrats

I remember watching the very first renovation video and from there I watched every single video together with my mum (who loves to restore and renovate homes). Even though now I live almost 7,000 km away, my mum and I will video call to watch the videos together. I just can't believe the living room renovation came up on my youtube feed so many years ago one night while I was laying in bed and I liked it and went to your page to see the rest of the renovation videos only to find out there were none. I remember I was like welp, I guess I'll have to wait a little bit to see the rest of the renos. Yay! I love this! I built a version of your home on the Sims 4 when the farm expansion pack came out. I went through all your videos and studied the floor plan trying to get it just right. It’s my favorite build I’ve ever done! It’s so nice to get a full walk around of the house. You guys are so sweet and inspiring :)
I have loved watching every project you've done--Elliott is so darn talented with some of his amazing designs and custom builds. I've been working on restoring my own 1907 home for 10 years now. There is just so much joy in knowing you have personally crafted or handled every inch of your home. Can't wait to see what you do with that huge master bedroom!
This whole project reminds me of my husband and myself. Everything is so personal and repurposed. We've been in our old farmhouse for around 35 years now and there are still things that need to be finished. Lots of renovation. I just love all the patterns you've added. All the lightness. I truly thought that I coined the idea of being a “95%’er”. It was around 30 years ago when my husband and I remodeled our old house. LOL. You guys have done beautiful work. One suggestion tho. I’m pretty certain your refrigerator has reversible handles. It should be fairly easy to move them to the right side to be easier to work from in your layout. But since you’re going to change it out to match your other appliances why worry about it! Beautiful home. 👍🏼🤍
The house looks fantastic, it's hard to pick a favorite room. I absolutely love the floors. The bathrooms and the kitchen are probably my favorites, they make a house so much better.
My husband was a custom cabinetmaker for over 40 years. He agrees that the pull out shelf/cutting board is a great idea, but sadly is no longer used in new kitchens. He used to buy the cutting boards from a supplier, but they no longer make them. We got a new kitchen ourselves five years ago, and he made me THREE of them! I have two really wide ones and one narrower one. There is one on each side of the stove….I love them!

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour of your renovated farmhouse. I absolutely love your designed baby gate and the lit floral, daisy-like piece in the stairwell! And Miss Millie's room is adorable! Our farmhouse is 110 yrs old and we've been doing the reno in stages as time and money allows. It's not a journey for the faint-hearted or impatient, that's for sure, especially if a project gets stalled for whatever reason. It's cool that you are working together on your home and have plans for the barn and shed. Dream big! Your creativity and thrifting will get you there in the end!!

I needed this today! My husband and I are right in the middle of renovating a fixer, we are staying in an uncomfortable long term stay rental with our pets. We are working full time and then painting and putting the house back together every evening from 5-9 then driving back to the hotel and falling into bed. I can’t find my hair dryer and all my favorite socks have bits of popcorn ceiling stuck to the bottom with paint. BUT we have big dreams for our forever home and we work so well together, it feels so good every time we complete a project. We joke that our weekend projects take one day to do the work and then the second day to stand and stare at it completed. We love watching you guys, you’re very brave and resourceful and can laugh at yourselves, we’re hoping to take a little of that inspiration into our renovation. Job well done!

I just can't believe the living room renovation came up on my youtube feed so many years ago one night while I was laying in bed and I liked it and went to your page to see the rest of the renovation videos only to find out there were none. I remember I was like welp, I guess I'll have to wait a little bit to see the rest of the renos. Now, 5 years later I've followed this journey and laughed, cried a little, have been inspired in renovating my own families farmhouse, and love your sweet family so much!

Yay! I love this! I built a version of your home on the Sims 4 when the farm expansion pack came out. I went through all your videos and studied the floor plan trying to get it just right. It’s my favorite build I’ve ever done! It’s so nice to get a full walk around of the house. You guys are so sweet and inspiring :)
I have loved watching every project you've done--Elliott is so darn talented with some of his amazing designs and custom builds. I've been working on restoring my own 1907 home for 10 years now. There is just so much joy in knowing you have personally crafted or handled every inch of your home. Can't wait to see what you do with that huge master bedroom!
This whole project reminds me of my husband and myself. Everything is so personal and repurposed. We've been in our old farmhouse for around 35 years now and there are still things that need to be finished. Lots of renovation. I just love all the patterns you've added. All the lightness. I truly thought that I coined the idea of being a “95%’er”. It was around 30 years ago when my husband and I remodeled our old house. LOL. You guys have done beautiful work. One suggestion tho. I’m pretty certain your refrigerator has reversible handles. It should be fairly easy to move them to the right side to be easier to work from in your layout. But since you’re going to change it out to match your other appliances why worry about it! Beautiful home. 👍🏼🤍
The house looks fantastic, it's hard to pick a favorite room. I absolutely love the floors. The bathrooms and the kitchen are probably my favorites, they make a house so much better.
My husband was a custom cabinetmaker for over 40 years. He agrees that the pull out shelf/cutting board is a great idea, but sadly is no longer used in new kitchens. He used to buy the cutting boards from a supplier, but they no longer make them. We got a new kitchen ourselves five years ago, and he made me THREE of them! I have two really wide ones and one narrower one. There is one on each side of the stove….I love them!

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour of your renovated farmhouse. I absolutely love your designed baby gate and the lit floral, daisy-like piece in the stairwell! And Miss Millie's room is adorable! Our farmhouse is 110 yrs old and we've been doing the reno in stages as time and money allows. It's not a journey for the faint-hearted or impatient, that's for sure, especially if a project gets stalled for whatever reason. It's cool that you are working together on your home and have plans for the barn and shed. Dream big! Your creativity and thrifting will get you there in the end!!

I needed this today! My husband and I are right in the middle of renovating a fixer, we are staying in an uncomfortable long term stay rental with our pets. We are working full time and then painting and putting the house back together every evening from 5-9 then driving back to the hotel and falling into bed. I can’t find my hair dryer and all my favorite socks have bits of popcorn ceiling stuck to the bottom with paint. BUT we have big dreams for our forever home and we work so well together, it feels so good every time we complete a project. We joke that our weekend projects take one day to do the work and then the second day to stand and stare at it completed. We love watching you guys, you’re very brave and resourceful and can laugh at yourselves, we’re hoping to take a little of that inspiration into our renovation. Job well done!
