    72 hour power reserve I believe, not 64. Just picked one up in Green with the bracelet. Very nice watch for the price. Competes well with my Aquaracer and Oris Aquis.

    Thank you "Mr Rob" for another excellent review! I have myself bought the former model of the Longines Hydro Conquest in "gold" and steel with the blue dial and bezel. Our mutual friend Bruce Williams was not so keen on that particular model due to the fact that it had the additional "rectangles" on every hour marker. I can agree that the ceramic models look "cleaner", but really, you get used to the look and I really love it. I have never really liked watches with "gold" added, but this model really pops when the blue and the gold are combined on the bezel and dial and the subtle red arrow on the seconds hand move. I have heard that many RUclipsr´s pronunce the name "LONGINES" with the "S" in the end. The correct pronunciation should be "LONGINE", drop the "S". Best regards, Ulf Hellerström of Sweden

    • @danspanos

      The dial in the model you have definitely looks much better! This one has too much blank real estate, and doesn't look as classy as the previous model.

    Great review (as usual)! My problem will be the crown and the crown guards that (it seems) sticking out too much. Big crowns are convenient but often cause an excessive contact with the wrist to the point of irritating blisters.

    Thanks for the review Rob, I have just bought the Blue dial 41mm ceramic bezel. I agree with you about the clasp, it’s ok I like it, one thing I did find though whilst playing with different sizing for my wrist is if I tried to use the 3rd micro adjust hole, I couldn’t get the divers extension to close properly. I like the crown guards but if they where slightly thinner it would be easier to unscrew and screw down the crown. My verdict is I love this watch and am very glad I bought it.

    That watch looks so good on the wrist, as you say the downward curved lugs help a lot. It just goes to show that you should not go by the measurements alone, try it on in the flesh and see how it feels is best if you can. The green colorway with the mat dial works really well for at a glance readability as well. Like you I have no problem with a stamped clasp as they are thinner and lighter than milled. I don't spend every waking moment looking at the clasp.

    For half the money, the Longines shits all over the Breitling. The longines has a superior 2892 where as the Breitling uses either a 2824 and more recently a Sellita SW200. Fit and finish of the cases is near identical! Also, Breitling charges close to $350 for the rubber deployant buckle on its own so yeah, id expect it to be better than the deploy on the Longines!

  • @kma86
    @kma86 2 года назад

    With that great ETA 2892-A2 based movement, decent sizing, decent lume, great 120 click bezel action - the polished bracelet + stamped clasp is not even a dealbreaker for me personally.

    • @ntorresla

      The movement its the advantage between other entry level divers... many micro brands may have better specs, but inside the nh35

  • @spg5658
    @spg5658 3 года назад +4

    Great brand and very well made. High quality control, obviously. For the money, so much better than a Breitling or Tag, which in my opinion are more hype and name recognition than quality for the money. I wouldn't own either as there are dozens of both major and micro brands making equal or better pieces for less than half the cost. As for Longines, this is the one I own (I paid about $1,200 brand new last month) but I think even full retail is a decent price for what you get here.

    • @rossdev
      @rossdev 3 года назад +2

      That is debatable for sure, I have a several Carreras including one with a skeletonised Heuer 02 movement, and the quality is right up there with Omega (for less money when compared to speedmaster). Yes Tag and Breitling make some quartz pieces that are pricey for what they are, but so does Omega. This Longines is nicely made, but a bit bland and they could have made an effort to colour match the date wheel.

    So i ordered the 39mm in blue with the aluminium bezel, when it arrived I wasn't impressed, bezel looked too busy and the whole watch felt cheap and nasty. I took the watch back to the store for a refund and came across this exact model with the ceramic bezel, and what a difference, the bezel is much cleaner looking and the whole watch feels much more solid and better built, I really can't explain why but the difference between 39mm aluminium bezel to this 41mm ceramic bezel is like night and day. So I exchange to the green ceramic and couldnt be happier 🙃

    • @ncavis

      I have the aluminum bezel in black, the Lume is not as good with the C3 vs this one with the BGW9, which is disappointing given the nature of this watch. Sounds like the upgrade to the ceramic bezel was worth it, maybe I should look into trading up.

    Sad to say this, why is the case side having a brushed surface which is damn ugly? Whereas, why does the cheaper quartz version L3.740.4.96.6 have a much better looking polished case sides? Shouldn't it be opposite or both polished? What the hell is Longines thinking? This is a major design flaw and puts me off into getting one because I love to get the automatic Rose Gold version which is also having the same brushed surface problem.

    Dreadful watch. I owned a blue ceramic - the clasp is atrocious, it's too heavy, the crown guards hit you in the hand, the bezel action is OK-ish so long as your hands are dry. It looks as though it was designed by a committee. Forget about mixing it up with straps - the lug is cut so precisely that it's almost impossible to get the tool in and grab the spring bar shoulder. Other than that, the movement is pretty good and around +3 s/d. I was ecstatic when I sold it.
