      Same, own the longines and it’s an absolutely versatile watch that dresses up or down easily, looks great on the longines rubber strap and runs within cosc. Omega seamaster is a…well it’s a dive watch all the way. It strikes me as a flex watch. Good comparison, nice video and a good comparison.

  • @Pulsonar

    The Omega might have 1st class finish, lume performance, quality materials etc… but the design is surprisingly naff and unimaginative. By contrast, the Longines HC has boldly taken up residence on Rolex Sub land, built a beautiful little cottage on it and made it permanent. That isn’t a bad thing when done right by the grand daddy of Rolex and Omega, and offered to us for a relative pittance. Not to mention an outstanding movement huge power reserve, renowned Longines customised ETA accuracy. Unless I totally misunderstood Omegas offering this has to be close to a hands down no brainer win for Longines here.

  • @MIZZtyler1991

    I own the HC and love it. But if budget had not been a factor, the Omega would have been the buy. The HC is undoubtedly a great watch though, and like I said, I love it. I have the gray sunburst dial version.

      100% agree. Along with the fact that the Longines offers nearly double the power reserve for less than half the price, and similar accuracy with the movement? Gotta go Longines all the way here imo.

  • @PurebredInnovator

    Another suggestion worthy of consideration is to get the Longines HydroConquest for a "dressy" diver watch and a Tudor Pelagos for tool, recreation and more casual environments. I originally wanted the Omega but the negatives on it made me look elsewhere. I was not really thrilled with the bezel action on the seamaster and the bracelet while a classic look should really be updated at this point. I have both a Longines and a Tudor now, could not be happier and really enjoy both watches for their respective use.

  • @chrispy3866

    Honestly, i don’y know of a watch manufacturer who’s watches give more value for every dollar spent than Longines. Each watch has it’s own merits, but if you ask me, the Longines has the looks of a $4,000 usd watch, at a fraction of the cost. The movement, the refinement, the name. Longines Hydroconquest punches WAY above it’s weight. For individuals such as myself who prefer to ‘stay in my lane’ with respects to money spent on luxuries including fine watches, (in my humble opinion) Longines CAN NOT BE BEAT. I will disclaim that i’m a huge Longines fan. Having said that, i do not see the value in the Omega, compared to the Longines. In this case, i feel Omega is relying on it’s name for the added $3,500+/- price compared to the hydro. There isn’t a $3,500 difference in the movements inside each case. Now, i will give respect to Omega for putting out gorgeous watches. Some models certainly offer the watch for money spent. In summarization however, Omega can’t touch the Longines Hydroconquest. Both phenomenal brands.

      Notice how no one has agreed with you. Or even responded. They are all in denial. But you are correct. Both watches are made out the same material. All around.. Like you stated, the omega"s movement is not greater than the longines. They are both good swiss movements. That tell the time the same way. Only thing that is different is the design between the watches. An the name on the dial. Your paying 3500 more just for your watch to say omega. The whole watch world is rediculous. But we love the watches. Id personally want a omega. Even though their are cheaper watches that are just as good out there an do the same exact thing that this 4000 dollar watch does, i am guilty like the rest. I want a omega watch some day. I wear orient stars an orients . These watches would last me until i pass away. Why would i need or want a 5 thousand dollar watch that says omega.. Simple.. Because im drawn to omega watches an orients. But you stand correct that the omega is not better than the longines. Its just a dam name...........

    The Omega is a different class, but for 1/4 of the price the HC is a great watch. My criticism of the Longines is the lume and the clasp but the movement is very accurate with a better power reserve. Either one is a solid purchase. Good video!

      @blankplanet 3 года назад +2

      It does because Longines is high likely the brand which is going to replace Omega in the mid-tier as it already started entering the more expensive range of Rolex etc with golden inlays and gemstones. Longines is a fantastic name with incredible price/quality ratio and i like their designs better

  • @anthonystevens8683
    @anthonystevens8683 3 года назад +2

    Both look fantastic but if it was a choice assuming disposable funds available between the two the Omega would take the win. In the great white version of the Seamaster 300M on the bracelet version (add the rubber strap later) would be my choice. I love Longines as a brand and the models that they produce but I'm a bit if a nerd for symmetry on the dial, the date at 3 is a little at odds with the Arabic 9 that just jars a little. The date at 6 would be a better balance. Given the price difference if the cash came from my own pocket today the Longines may well be the one that I take home. Verdict: a draw.

    • @Pulsonar
      @Pulsonar 2 года назад

      If symmetry bothers, I’d prefer the date at 4 o’clock. Then there’s nothing to upset the visual balance of those large Arabic numerals at either 3 or 6, and they dominate the dial anyway.

    Compare the Hydro with a seiko spb143, a Union belisar Sport, tisdot or an Oris aquis with the eta/sellita movement (or something else)

    Both great watches within their own price tier. One thing: calling a brand entry level luxury is a very weird thing that has become common practice. A brand is either luxury or it is not. One can rank them by price ranges, but price is not the only indicator of luxury. The Seamaster is every bit a luxury watch as the Submariner (except for brand positioning) and the price difference between them is greater that the difference between this two.

      Hallo! I have a question. If Omega și Swatch group, and ETA is Swatch group, how ,,in house" is really the coaxial movment? Is there a completly independent Omega movment Factory? Aren't there similaritys between ETA and omega-s Movment?

    • @georgeii2629
      @georgeii2629 2 года назад +2

      @@mihai-valentinracolta9803 Omega's coaxial movement is clearly Omega's own movement. But you should definitely get away from this stupid "in-house ideology". ETA is basically the best you can get. They may be mass-produced, but still perfect. And for this reason alone, in-house movements from well-known manufacturers are guaranteed to show similarities to ETA movements, because they are simply perfectly thought out.

    Rubber strap on Hydroconquest is a disaster! Hard, inflexible, rough rubber. Had to replace it with vulcanized rubber from eBay. Ss bracelet clasp on HC is cheap. Longines had to address it even if it means raising prices. Also, my HC is +6-7 secs per day

    I tried out the HC today and was totally underwhelmed. The crown is horrible - it's kind of sharp around the edges and has like a gap around the end with the round piece. It's really hard to grip and pull out. The crown in my Orient Saturation Diver is a whole world different. Just the general feel of the HC was cheap and nasty (especially for the money), nearly $2,500 here in Australia. I'm so glad I walked out and did not buy it - the sales lady was very high pressure. I've kept my money and can take a look around now at perhaps Oris, or even Tudor, or perhaps IWC or even Tag.

    The Seamaster has personality. The Longines is quite bland and doesn't look like a high quality watch, just look at the dial. Actually the HC can't quite even compare to the Oris Aquis.
