The Longines Spirit Zulu Time looks and wears like a 1950’s to 1970’s GMT which is no complaint as I find the Tudor and Rolex GMT’s too bulky and would make a great casual wear watch. I think the Longines Conquest Heritage silver 35mm dress watch is also lovely and work well as a daily wear if you are for example a Solicitor, accountant, estate agent. But would go well with certain casual wear like polo shirt, blue jeans and deck shoes.
I’m looking for a travelers GMT and tried on both the Tudor Black Bay Pepsi and the Longines Zulu Time green bezel. I was more impressed with the Longines to be honest. Time will tell, no pun intended, before I make the GMT purchase.
Full Tudor collection. Well, that is kinda tricky for sure. So in my collection, I would include an everyday watch, a diver, something automotive(a chronograph probably), a GMT, and something a bit dressier. As for everyday piece, I'd go with a Tudor Royal 38 with a salmon dial. Simple, cool looking, with all the itegratness and salmonness that is so hot right now. Diver - it has to be something fun, bright, and summery - probably a Black Bay 58 with a red bezel. Now chronograph - there aren't many options in their current catalog but I'd go with Back Bay Chrono with a white dial. It can be on a strap with the addition of a rally strap in brown to complete the look. GMT - Black Bay Pro. A proper tool watch. Definitely on a bracelet. And the last one - a dress watch. This option isn't a proper dress watch but I think it fits quite nicely - 1926 36mm with a white dial. Can be either on a bracelet or on brown leather(not a fan of black leather). Or maybe even a two-tone option on a bracelet.
Don't know how many would make a well rounded collection but I'd do the Pelagos fxd, Black Bay gmt, the 1926 opaline and blue dial, the P01 and Black Bay chrono panda(panda on steel bracelet).

On the Rolex forum they have been complaining about it for years. I bought one back in 2018 and had the same problem and after sending it back 4 times for repair they still couldn't get it right. How can a company that's been around for decades can't even get a simple date wheel working right? Furthermore, what good is their warranty if they can't ever fix it? No thanks. I really like longines but not so much into Tiudor. If I would want to build like five watch collection from mix of those two watchmakers I would probably spent close to 20K so, instead I would do sport watch as Alpina Extreme, dress watch from Atlantic, diver definitely Seiko Monster, Tuna, Turtle, Samurai or Sumo, chronograph I would overspend and get Beume at Mercier Copland and for beater it would be Hanowa. And I would still have one or two Casios... just because... Thank you for the video, keep posting so I don't have to clean mess in my garage 🙂 Your polish viewer.
You are correct that the current Tudor's catalog doesn't offer a lot variety in terms of complications and risk taking, I think Tudor is going at their own pace and in my perspective, they just want to master out everything in their current know-how before moving on to the next piece. For example, the black bay, to come out with as many sizes, many colors, case materials, innovation as possible, and once they perfected it, they can move on to the next series. From that, if I were to create a Tudor watch collection, it would probably be like this. Everyday: Ranger, Dive: PELAGOS FXD Redbull, Dress: GLAMOUR DATE+DAY 39 , Field: BLACK BAY PRO, Fun: BLACK BAY 58 BRONZE or BLACK BAY 58 18K.
Well....I think that the best restaurants have the shortest possible menus. That is the case of Tudor...so if what you are saying is true for collectors, they should look again at the extensive Invicta line to build one..🙃
I already own a north flag, so a pelagos, royal, 1926, a ranger, maybe a gmt. That works, completely different style watches. I already own a Longines vhp gmt, spirit 40 mm, bronze legends diver. Would love to get a heritage chrono, those things are hyper-good looking. The all- ceramic hydroconquest is pretty stunning as well. There's too many to pick from.
The only Tudor I want is the Pelagos FXD. But Longines oh my....they have come out with some bangers. I love the Central Power Conquest. That watch looks elegant. And also I like the Hydroconquest GMT.
I own watches from both brands. They both are stellar and generally dominate the industry below rolex price tier. No need to put them against each other
For a 3-watch collection: 1.- Tudor black bay (bezel-less) in 36mm for everyday wear. Ranger would be a good option too but prefer something more compact. 2.- Pelagos, full size and blue. 3.- black bay chrono or black bay P01 for a more special / wild watch.
7 Watch Collection for ALL Occaisions Glamour Double Date S&G- special occasion/dress Black Bay 41 Champagne - GADA BB GMT (I like the black dial)- travel BB Chrono White - sports chrono BB 58 925- every day diver (because no one dives in silver) BB Pro - field/rugged activity Pelagos FXD Blue - serious dive Didn’t even add the Royal integrated or Ranger field
I will always favour a risk taker over a cautious brand. That deserves much more respect. When you've lived your professional life understanding and doing the same, you know why.
I’m going to overthink this a bit. 1) Black Bay 36 black dial 2) Burgundy Black Bay Diver 3) 36mm Two Tone Royal I wanted to say BB34 but the collection needed some color. The BB36 would be a great all rounder. Personally, I think the Royal collection is underrated so that was a no brainer. Initially, I would say the diver on a jubilee but now that the BB36 is only on jubilee I would put the diver on an oyster style bracelet.
Here's my take Dress: Glamour Date 36mm Everyday: Royal 38mm Dive: Black Bay 58 Field : Ranger Fun: Pelagos Chronograph FXD I have only one black bay here and 5 different style watches will do a fine collection for my taste. Sure, Longines have more options but I rather take the "less is more" on this one.
Everyday, dress, and fun - if that could make a complete collection. There's really no "beater" watch in the Tudor line. Everyday - something with a bracelet and a black dial like Black Bay 39 (M79660-0001) Dress - something with a structured dial on a leather strap like 1926 (M91451-0005) Fun - something quite versatile and colourful for swapping straps in summer like Pelagos FXD (M25707B/24-0001)
With my 7 inch wrist my Tudor collection would be Alrounder - 38 salmon royal Diver - Pelagos 39 Field - Tudor Ranger Chrono - Black bay chrono reverse panda Dress - 2 tone 36mm black bay on jubilee Travel - black bay pro But yeah I see that half are black bay pieces
👌🏾 42mm Longines Spirit Titanium on black semi-nato looks gorgeous 🛩️🏆 I would only consider Tudor if they put out a .925 Ag/Al 42mm Ranger with applied numerals and indices and strong lume.
Dress: Royal 34mm Steel and Gold with gold dial (even though Tudor categorizes it as a sports watch; roman numerals and textured bezel suggets otherwise), Everyday: Black Bay 36 champagne dial (hope they bring back the oyster-style bracelets as an option), Diver: Pelagos 39, Wildcard: Black Bay Ceramic, One more for more color: Black bay 58 Blue.
Dress watch - tudor royal, Dive watch - Pelagos, Field watch - Ranger, GMT - black bay pro, Chronograph - redbull FXD. You can make a full collection from what Tudor offer but I do wish they would bring back the North flag or just use the snowflake hand less. That being said if I had to make a collection of just one brand, between these two, I would choose Longines.
Dress/GADA: M91650-0013 (though I prefer the M91650-0005...not sufficiently formal) Field: M79950-0001 Dive: M25600TB-0001 Daily/GADA: M79660-0002 Tudor doesn't make a Pilot's watch...whereas Longines has heritage there. Absent a beater and a pilot's watch, the above feels like a solid Tudor-based all-around collection
Most rounded Tudor 3 watch collection I can think of… 1) Ranger 2) Royal 3) Black Bay Pro GMT In what ever colours and on what ever strap / bracelet combos you prefer I think there’s enough variety there to keep things interesting
This would be my TUDOR COLLECTION: Dress: 1926 M91550-0005 39mm Opaline and blue dial on a bracelet. Casual: GLAMOUR DOUBLE DATE M57103-0002 42mm black dial and yellow gold bezel. Chronograph: BLACK BAY CHRONO S&G M79363N-0008 41mm on a Brown leather strap. Diver: PELAGOS Titanium M25600TN-0001 42mm black dial on a Titanium bracelet. Sport/Tool: RANGER M79950-0001 39mm black dial on a bracelet.
I was about to disagree, but I went through the Longines collections for my specific wants and desires, and Longines covered way more preferences than Tudor. I don't own a Longines watch, but if one wanted to build a collection on the manufacturer....it can be done. This opinion is coming from a Tudor watch owner....and my next watch will be a Tudor as well.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
@@duffydon1741 Dude, my dad was a master watchmaker, I grew up in his shop. Don't give me lessons or talk to me about things you absolutely don't know shit about.
I agree. Tudor’s range is fairly limited compared to Longines. For that matter, even Hamilton and Tissot have wider ranges from which a diverse collection could be built.
Ive been watching a lot of your videos recently and I agree with most things you say. On this though i feel im missing the point. Surely the watch collector picks "the best of each type" and does not restrict themselves to a particular manufacturer? My approach is to pick the best version or each category watch from whomever makes it. I have a budget and buy the best one I like. Surly it's not about selecting a personal favourite manufacturer and then buying all their watches?
Aa you said most modern Tudor are dive watches and most of the newer ones are too big for my wrist. I like the 39mm titanium watch with the titanium bracelet PELAGOS. It took me a lot of years to like the snowflake hands. I like them now. They grew on me. What I really like which I can not afford anything I would like is the vintage Tudor Sub and a few other really old ones that had the ETA movements and were a lot thinner and lighter. I like the flag one as well. If we look at what is new today I think Longines is a better value and a lot more to choose from. This was another brand I did not like at first but grew on me. I like the mint green chronograph watch they sell. I can't afford it right now but if I could that is what I would get.
I don’t disagree with you : however, I would be interested to know your specific points of comparison. For instance, how might you compare styling, finish, materials, comfort, dials, clasps, workmanship, lume, marketing, longevity, innovation, movements and customer appreciation to name a few? Stay well ❗️😎❗️
Tudor Black Bay GMT and Black Bay 41 (red bezel) for sport/everyday wear. Can't think of a single watch from Tudor which speaks to me and I would consider wearing with a suit.
My attempt at an all-around Tudor collection: 1. Black Bay 58 GMT (GADA) 2. Black Bay Chronograph Blue (Sports watch) 3. Black Bay 58 Bronze (Formal wear watch) I know its all Black Bay but I would be lying to myself if I said that Tudor wasn't the Black Bay company (just like AP is the Royal Oak company) 😂
Tudor 5 watch collection! Tudor 1926 41 mm white opaline dial Tudor Black bay 41 anthracite dial Tudor Pelagos FDX black dial nato strap Tudor black bay chrono S&G black dial Tudor Royal 41 two tone chocolate dial That’s my collection for Tudor!! . Done! P.S. die hard Longines Fan!!
Zulu time with GMT - one piece collection done. 3 Piece? Zulu time + hydroconquest diver + any dress watch. Tudor - maybe a GMT or maybe BB58 and done.
Tudor for me. The black Bay’s along with Pelagos will outlast Longines especially if you use your watches. They just aren’t as tough. My experience anyway.
In my opinion the mistake is to build a collection only with one brand. If you have more than two watches, I think it's more pleasurable to have a variety of brands, styles, functions, colors, ... You stick to one brand if you are sponsored or you just consider your watch as a tool.
The Longines Titanium GMT was a nod to their own older designs. They had every right to make that watch. The watch also has some changes people have been clamoring for like removing the stars off the dial and streamlining the text a bit more. The fact that it looks like a Tudor is irrelevant because they're not trying to copy anyone but themselves and that has literally been their strategy for a while now: reiterating on the older designs and updating them with modern construction techniques and refined complications/movements. I don't know what that says about the Tudor but I do know comparisons to the BB Pro are a moot argument historically speaking.
This only makes sense if one wants a one brand collection. One can always have a Tudor diver and field (not that I would) but another style from another brand (Longines or otherwise).
Unpopular opinion: I absolutely hate the Tudor "snowflake" hand. Maybe if the square were about 25-33% smaller. (And Longines is crushing it lately. Crushing it. That new Conquest Heritage Central Power is such a handsome watch.)
I think they’re both neck and neck and it’s possible that swatch has upped the anti because of the black bays success and that’s criminal because Longines should be up there with omega. Anyway, big Tudor fan I suppose and I’m going with. Tudor royal 41 date day. Blue dial. BB steel and gold chronograph. Pelagos 39 titanium. BB Tudor pro. Black dial obviously…wish they did a polar.
The only "luxury" watches I in any way aspire to own are a Tudor Ranger, a Longines Spirit, or Omega Seamaster Railmaster. I used to want an Air-King, but Rolex has totally snobberied itself off my list. Any of these others would be my daily driver. I would not even attempt to build a collection from any of these brands because the concept is way outside my budgetary tolerance. One, just one, of my aforementioned list would be the "pinnacle watch" in my modest collection. I have other expensive hobbies to feed.
Just bought my first expensive watch . Did it with loan cos I’m skint. Longines spirit titanium. 4 years it will take to pay it off. Wife thinks I’m insane and I probably am . I’m gonna have to grovel to her for longer than 4 years .

I don't know, I was twice in the market for a Longines in the last three years and eventually ended getting an Eberhard and a Tudor. They just don't sing to me.
What is a "real watch collector"? I have several watches, I have bought, worn and sold several others. I've occasionally made a bit of money. I've mostly lost a bit. I read watch forums, I watch watch RUclipsrs, I mooch around ADs and jewellers who stock watches to pass an idle Saturday. Am I a watch collector? A watch enthusiast?

What about as a Tudor collection…..1. Dress: 1926; 2. Diver: BB58 or Pelagos; 3. GMT: Black Bay Pro; 4. Tool watch : Tudor Ranger
All Tudors look the same and they put out the same old crap every year. Just like Rolex.
Forgot about Tudor Royal for sports watch
@@bigmacdaddy1234 Rolex are known for their iconic designs. That sell great. That's what people want from Rolex. Something thats well known and built to last. What would rather they make some designs that don't do well and they go rot on ebay and C24 for years lol. I mean what more do you want?? Ill never get these comments
@@bigmacdaddy1234 I'll never get these comments LOL.That's what people want from Rolex. Something thats well known and built to last. Not some design that flops and rots on ebay and C24 for years.
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Built to last..lol. Is that a joke or are you serious? The Tudor GMT has a date wheel problem since 2018 that is still not fixed. No thanks. I bought a Longines and guess what...the date wheel works.
Longines is simply amazing, probably the best bang for bucks Swiss out there, Tudor, eh not so much.
My Tudor 5 watch collection: 1 Dress- Prince, 2- Dive BB 58 Blue(no date) 3- GMT- With white dial 4-Field- Ranger 5-Chrono- BB58(Black dial) Aaaaaand a Vintage would be the Tiger Woods Chrono... Hope this list tickles ur fancy!
Got a 40mm Longines Spirit on leather strap this year and I absolutely love it. They have some killer watches right now.
Thank you for the video, keep posting so I don't have to clean mess in my garage 🙂
Your polish viewer.
That is the case of Tudor...so if what you are saying is true for collectors, they should look again at the extensive Invicta line to build one..🙃
happy pelagos 42 owner and that longines 39 gmt looks mint!
There is only one option for Tudor for a full collection:
1) Everyday - Ranger
2) Dress - 1926
3) Beater - Pelagos FXD
I already own a north flag, so a pelagos, royal, 1926, a ranger, maybe a gmt. That works, completely different style watches. I already own a Longines vhp gmt, spirit 40 mm, bronze legends diver. Would love to get a heritage chrono, those things are hyper-good looking. The all- ceramic hydroconquest is pretty stunning as well. There's too many to pick from.
Longines uses ETA vs Tudor their own
Tudor collection
Dress: 1926
Integrated bracelet: Royal
Diver: BB/Pelagos
GMT: BB GMT
Chrono: BB Chrono/FXD
Tool: Ranger
Imo you fail at being diverse if you only get watches from one brand! No matter how many options you have within said brand.
Great Video! Longines is my favourite brand currently
No need to put them against each other
For a 3-watch collection:
1.- Tudor black bay (bezel-less) in 36mm for everyday wear. Ranger would be a good option too but prefer something more compact.
2.- Pelagos, full size and blue.
3.- black bay chrono or black bay P01 for a more special / wild watch.
The problem with Tudors is the all look the same. Nobody would notice the difference between the three of them.
Longines looks like a BB crossed with the Glycine Combat
7 Watch Collection for ALL Occaisions
Glamour Double Date S&G- special occasion/dress
Black Bay 41 Champagne - GADA
BB GMT (I like the black dial)- travel
BB Chrono White - sports chrono
BB 58 925- every day diver (because no one dives in silver)
BB Pro - field/rugged activity
Pelagos FXD Blue - serious dive
Didn’t even add the Royal integrated or Ranger field
I will always favour a risk taker over a cautious brand. That deserves much more respect. When you've lived your professional life understanding and doing the same, you know why.
I’m going to overthink this a bit.
1) Black Bay 36 black dial
2) Burgundy Black Bay Diver
3) 36mm Two Tone Royal
I wanted to say BB34 but the collection needed some color. The BB36 would be a great all rounder. Personally, I think the Royal collection is underrated so that was a no brainer.
Initially, I would say the diver on a jubilee but now that the BB36 is only on jubilee I would put the diver on an oyster style bracelet.
Here's my take
Dress: Glamour Date 36mm
Everyday: Royal 38mm
Dive: Black Bay 58
Field : Ranger
Fun: Pelagos Chronograph FXD
I have only one black bay here and 5 different style watches will do a fine collection for my taste. Sure, Longines have more options but I rather take the "less is more" on this one.
Everyday, dress, and fun - if that could make a complete collection. There's really no "beater" watch in the Tudor line.
Everyday - something with a bracelet and a black dial like Black Bay 39 (M79660-0001)
Dress - something with a structured dial on a leather strap like 1926 (M91451-0005)
Fun - something quite versatile and colourful for swapping straps in summer like Pelagos FXD (M25707B/24-0001)
With my 7 inch wrist my Tudor collection would be
Alrounder - 38 salmon royal
Diver - Pelagos 39
Field - Tudor Ranger
Chrono - Black bay chrono reverse panda
Dress - 2 tone 36mm black bay on jubilee
Travel - black bay pro
But yeah I see that half are black bay pieces
Dress/GADA: M91650-0013 (though I prefer the M91650-0005...not sufficiently formal)
Field: M79950-0001
Dive: M25600TB-0001
Daily/GADA: M79660-0002
Tudor doesn't make a Pilot's watch...whereas Longines has heritage there.
Absent a beater and a pilot's watch, the above feels like a solid Tudor-based all-around collection
Most rounded Tudor 3 watch collection I can think of…
1) Ranger
2) Royal
3) Black Bay Pro GMT
In what ever colours and on what ever strap / bracelet combos you prefer
I think there’s enough variety there to keep things interesting
This would be my TUDOR COLLECTION:
Dress: 1926 M91550-0005 39mm Opaline and blue dial on a bracelet.
Casual: GLAMOUR DOUBLE DATE M57103-0002 42mm black dial and yellow gold bezel.
Chronograph: BLACK BAY CHRONO S&G M79363N-0008 41mm on a Brown leather strap.
Diver: PELAGOS Titanium M25600TN-0001 42mm black dial on a Titanium bracelet.
Sport/Tool: RANGER M79950-0001 39mm black dial on a bracelet.
Tudor style two tone w black dial. (Discontinued)(dress) Tudor chrono panda (tool/diver). What else do you need? From Tudor at least.
Longines is one of my favourite . I already own one, will buy more soon
Jory, I saw an Invicta, I think it is called 1953, that looks exactly like those watches.
Get Invicta out of the same sentence with any Tudor or Longines!
@@duffydon1741 Dude, my dad was a master watchmaker, I grew up in his shop. Don't give me lessons or talk to me about things you absolutely don't know shit about.
Dress:1926
Dive: pelagos 42
Daily: royal
Casual w/complication: bb chrono
I agree. Tudor’s range is fairly limited compared to Longines. For that matter, even Hamilton and Tissot have wider ranges from which a diverse collection could be built.
Love MAMACOO watch,Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
My attempt at an all-around Tudor collection:
1. Black Bay 58 GMT (GADA)
2. Black Bay Chronograph Blue (Sports watch)
3. Black Bay 58 Bronze (Formal wear watch)
I know its all Black Bay but I would be lying to myself if I said that Tudor wasn't the Black Bay company (just like AP is the Royal Oak company) 😂
Tudor 5 watch collection!
Tudor 1926 41 mm white opaline dial
Tudor Black bay 41 anthracite dial
Tudor Pelagos FDX black dial nato strap
Tudor black bay chrono S&G black dial
Tudor Royal 41 two tone chocolate dial
That’s my collection for Tudor!! . Done!
P.S. die hard Longines Fan!!
Fair take! That said, Tudor (and really, Rolex) have never been about building diversity. They do one thing and one thing well: sports watches.
My favorite watch channel without a doubt.I’m happy to spend my money on MAMACOO watches. I’ve never been let down by their products
Everyday:1926 white dial blue markers , Dress: Glamour Double Date black dial Diver: Blue Pelagos
Koskesh the slow flake hand is an iconic part of Tudor kosssskeshhhh
This only makes sense if one wants a one brand collection. One can always have a Tudor diver and field (not that I would) but another style from another brand (Longines or otherwise).
I love and own watches from both brands . They are both excellent
Two watch collection:
1926 and Pelagos 39
This year Longines will surpass Tudor
Im about to purchase a Longines Spirit
Longines makes a long variety of watches, same as Omega; Tudor makes the Black bay, the Pelagos and a Daytonalike chronograph.
Why would you build a watch collection from only one brand?
I think why he asked everyone to come up with a tudor collection , is so he can point out next vid you are all listing the same watches .Big Brain move my boy,you know we all cant resist
I love my Pelagos but in my humble opinion Longines is the best value in getting into a high end Swiss watch market
Longines has diversity.Tudor collection is to sporty which is nice but hard to make a diverse collection
I don't know, I was twice in the market for a Longines in the last three years and eventually ended getting an Eberhard and a Tudor. They just don't sing to me.
I like the dress shirts in the recent vids.
Tudor black bay + Longines spirit zulu time + longines master calendar
maybe a tudor royal to balance it out 😊
What is a "real watch collector"?
I have several watches, I have bought, worn and sold several others.
I've occasionally made a bit of money.
I've mostly lost a bit.
I read watch forums, I watch watch RUclipsrs, I mooch around ADs and jewellers who stock watches to pass an idle Saturday.
Am I a watch collector? A watch enthusiast?

Oris vs TUDOR feels better
As a watch enthusiast with NO budget, thank you MAMACOO for great-looking mechanical watches that I can afford! their are very clean, classy look, $150 each. I still watch videos about expensive “proper” watches, but I enjoy what I have
Si fuese una colección de tres relojes, y solo ouedes escoger entre estos dos sin límite de presuouesto igual los compraría todos a Longines.
Umm, Tudor already has watches beyond the Black Bay: the much ignored Royal as well as the 1926. Why is it that watch reviewers forget?
