    Youre amazing. Youre channel is amazing. I do not possibly know how I can be safe, trust myself, and not believe people are evil. I dont think you are evil. However, generally I am a target. I will consult my therapist on this. But again, your videos are awesome.

      @@DocSnipes Thank you very much for replying. i am really honoured. I know that i have suffered with CPTSD even though i have not been diagnosed due to trauma from childhood. Also, i have had periods of depression and an autoimmune illness. i have listened to some of the trauma ones, PTSD and also the CPTSD. Also, looking at attachment/inner child which really helped a lot. i have had therapy and counselling/treatments over the years. i now use meditation, mindfulness, exercise and spiritual practices. as you will know it is an ongoing process and i am training to be a wellness coach using some of these techniques as well as life coaching. i can't afford therapy due to financial situation, so these videos as well as books i am reading at the moment are allowing me to peel away at the many layers that i know still need help with ongoing issues. many thanks again for your sharing all your experitse. i really appreciate it. x

    Absolutely true! Trauma takes such an immense toll on the body and it takes such a long time to even begin to heal! ❤‍🩹 Healing is also a non-linear process and does not happen the same way for every individual!

    I smoked with my friends and I was about to freak out. Since then, when they call me or when I see them, I panic and feel it in my brain and heart. I don’t think I can go near them because I'm scared of having panic attacks. What’s wrong? Can you please help me? Need some tips

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  3 месяца назад

      It sounds like you've had a really distressing experience, and it's understandable that you're now associating your friends with the panic you felt during that time. When you experience panic in a specific context, your brain can start to associate that context or similar situations with the panic response, which can lead to anticipatory anxiety and avoidance behaviors.
      Here are some tips that might help you manage your anxiety and panic:
      Recognize Safety: When you start feeling anxious, remind yourself to check if you're safe. Look around and assess if there's any immediate threat. Recognizing that you are safe can help you begin to address the triggers of your anxiety.
      Understand Your Triggers: Being aware of what triggers your anxiety is crucial. Develop a relationship with your triggers so you don't feel compelled to react automatically when you're anxious.
      Breathing Techniques: Practice deep breathing exercises to help calm your body's fight or flight response. Try breathing in for four seconds, holding for four seconds, and breathing out for four seconds.
      Distress Tolerance: Develop thoughts that encourage you to recognize that while the situation is uncomfortable, you can get through it. For example, tell yourself, "I feel anxious, but it won't consume me" or "I recognize that I feel anxious, I see no threat, and I will engage in a distress tolerance activity".
      Seek Support: Keep contact information for supportive friends or family members handy. Reach out to them when you're feeling overwhelmed. It's important to have a network of people who can help you through tough moments.
      Pro-Social Activities: Engage in activities that make you feel good and are unrelated to the context in which you experienced panic. This could be volunteering, going to the gym, or any other activity that gets you out and about in a positive environment.
      Professional Help: If your panic and anxiety are significantly impacting your life, consider seeking help from a mental health professional. They can provide you with personalized strategies and support to manage your anxiety.
      Remember, it's okay to take time for yourself and to go at your own pace as you work through these feelings. Your well-being is important, and taking steps to manage your anxiety is a positive and proactive approach.
