Notes from the taper:
Danny solo.
Also on the bill were Killing Joke [not recorded].
Due to my work schedule the closer dates on this tour (Cleveland and Cincy) were not
going to be possible to attend. The next date I had free was Pittsburgh. I purchased
a ticket during the presale and scored a decent single in line with a side stack. A bit
cheaper and I knew there would be decent sound having taped in this section
before. I actually would have liked to have been 10 seats to my right, but I did pretty
well using memory from a show I attended in 2014. Regarding the crowd, everyone around
me behaved for the most part except for this T.J. Miller lookalike mf'er to my left.
When I sat down in my seat (20 minutes before set time), he put his arm around me and
wanted to be my friend. He was already wasted and it was only 825. He wanted to talk
Bengals Browns and I did my best to ignore him. When he noticed my clipping the mics
he turned and said to me (and I quote), "Dude, I AINT NO SNITCH, you DO what you NEED
TO DO." Then, I decided to politely ask him if he could do his best to keep quiet during
the show and there would be a free copy in it for him. He was so gone by this point,
I'm positive he forgot. Well, him and his buddy got into a screaming match during
"Parabol", so I did my best to move to the right (while leaning forward) literally over
the row in front of me and you cannot really hear them on the recording. If you put
headphones on and listen closely, you might. But the cardioids did a great job, as
always. I absolutely love the way these things sound in arenas and theaters. Its hard
to go with another pair. Well, until I can afford a pair of Schoeps MK4's - that is.
The show was great, loved getting to hear "Pneuma" and "Invincible" was a lot more fun
knowing it much better than I did in May. Please share this with as many Tool fans
as possible. Im looking at you, Tool Drive Project.

01:55:26 - Stinkfist [extended]
Ooh, they got "Descending" instead of "Intolerance" or "Part of Me." That's a tough one...I don't know which I'd prefer. Saw them in Tulsa and "Intolerance" actually stole the show for me because they NAILED the energy and screams and everything.
Can't wait to hear which one they play in Dallas.
I vote "7empest."
I was at Boston show. I forget what we got but wish it was Descending.
Corry Michelini setlist.fm indicates you had Intolerance.
Thanks so much for this and yes that was Merkaba, I shed a tear when I heard the waves crashing and the red/black pyramid appeared for Descending.
Gracias
Coming from a 65 year old man Tool is the best by far. This music makes me feel alive again..
brofranomo I love this comment so much, I can’t really articulate it with words.
60 here... Takes me back to early Genesis - Selling England by the Pound and the Yes Album. The best music I’ve listened to in a long, long time. IMHO.
hes 55
I took my 13yo son to this show. He loves Tool, and i did also at that age. It was absolutely amazing to share that experience together! He was doing his air drumming thing, and the people around us were fascinated that he could keep time with Danny Carey on Invincible with that polyrhythm... Holy Shit!
I'm taking my 14 year old daughter to see them in NOLA in February. Itll be her first Real concert. ❤🤘🎶😁🎶🤘❤
@@Thefractalillusion Awesome! Yinz will love it!
I forced my son to go to Soundgarden back in 2013, and don't regret it one bit, haha! Not to boast, but he also has the Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins under his belt already, so get your daughter out there to whatever cool shows that come around. It's a great way to bond w/o even speaking many words. Plus, music sucks these days, so you gotta take what you can get. Take care, and Enjoy!
I was at this show. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Sound quality was flawless
I drove from Nashville to see this show. Well worth it.
Jonas Waldrum So I thought I was the only one from Nashville there. Are you going to see them at Bridgestone?
@@mattmcgee6040 absolutely! Gonna try to get the best seats possible! I had nose bleeds for both this show and the Birmingham show.
I was at the Cleveland show, incredible. The sound engineers should win an award for this. Its was extremely loud and extremely clear, best sounding show I've ever seen.
CLEVELAND WAS GREAT.I WAS IN SECTION 105.that show rekindled my love for tool.
I have to concur... Saw them in Lisabon, last concert of the tour and the sound was impecable... crisp, clear, booming.. .Kudos!
Worst sound system so far was Milwaukee. They had the sound on BLAST for some damn reason so all you heard was distorted Adam. AWFUL. I always wonder how the sound engineers who sit directly in front of the stage, in the pit, cannot hear that ear blistering distortion. They course-corrected about halfway through the show.
@@michaeloltmann6828 I was there section 109.. Super loud yet clear.. Most powerful band ive seen
@@beeterolds that's funny I said the same thing to my best friend.weve been going to concerts together for 20 years.i was surprised how loud killing joke was.it was still pretty clear.personally its a tie between tool and NIN.i have seen NIN 6 and only seen tool 3 times.they are both perfectionist.i wouldn't expect anything less
I was here VIP second row right in front of Adam!!! Thank you for letting me go back to this state of mind and spiral out at will!
Best audio I’ve found so far from the fall 2019 tour
Awesome. I was there and I'm thrilled to hear the show again. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks so much for uploading this. I saw them right before this at the Houston show on October 27. They were simply phenomenal. Two oddities at the Houston show: Adam had guitar troubles. First he broke a string (or two?) at the very end of Pneuma, and couldn’t finish the song correctly. Then, his guitar went out completely during Jambi, and he and his roadie kept switching things around until he finally got one that worked. He couldn’t play at all during the middle third of the song. That aside, it was a mind-blowing night! I’m glad you got to hear Descending. They didn’t play it in Houston. Love that song, and the whole new album so much!
I saw them in Houston too. Adam handled his guitar troubles like a pro. My friend didn't even notice. Lol.
They all did. Fascinating watching it unfold.
that h-town gig was the best show i've seen in 25 years! never seen tool live before, so it was somewhat of a religious experience, cathartic... set me on a kickass path this last month.
I was here. Had terrible seats. But had a really good time.
I was here as well, and couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity and completely epic seats!!! 😍
No such thing as bad seats at tool. Lol
I had to comment way before finishing the listen..
Thank you again, VTX and taper "live2cd", of course. The audio is fantastic, especially considering live2cd dealt with TJ Miller's wasted doppelganger from the get-go! Good job, live2cd you're a pro!
Thanks for this, one of the top 10 moments in my life 👁👁👁
Maynard is now singing Vicarious entirely on the megaphone... I don't like so much. BUT. From an artistic point of view, it's the best vicarious way to transmit the lyrics, from a good safe distance ...
Lol
I was there...best show I’ve ever been to and I’ve seen a lot of great bands in Pittsburgh
I was here. Great show.
Amazing! There sound is on point as always!
I had tix to the show in Brooklyn and couldn’t go at the last second because of work. So angry that night. This will have to do. Thank you for uploading it
was there in Toronto on Nov,11.... i love TOOL ever since Sober 93' when i was 20 years old. loved them ever since - fav band by far... 45 now and i must of broke down 3 times at the show, this band live is like no other, better live than on CD, that's who TOOL are, any true fan knows that already, drove down from Montreal, i am hoping they'll come here in 2020... sources told me YES!!! so hopefully gonna seen them again for my 6th time. Dany and those poor skins lol. beats them to death and perhaps goes thru a set of skins every 3-4 cities lol.... they're pushing almost 60 and still fkn rockn FKKK YAAA!!!!
Set-list in Toronto they switched "The Pot" that was played after "Ænema" to "Descending" played after "Intolerance" which is played after Vicarious... MJK says just before Intolerance "Anyone younger than 30?... you were not even a sperm when this song came out!" lol
Lol thanks for reminding me about the sperm line. I was there too. Amazing show!
A.....maze....zing!!!!! thanks for this great audio. It was my first time seeing TOOL live
THANK YOU!!
thank you
I was at the Nashville show. Instead of descending, they played swamp song which was one of my favorites that they played because every person in the stadium was singing the whole time!
This show was insane!
wow great audio! nice
The gong at the beginning of CC Trip is amazing
Shitchyeah! Was there front row center!
Amazing as always!
Was there. V.I.P. Front row center. Amazing. AMAZING!!
Indeed...that was a condensed version of Merkaba. They've done many little jams before songs, and this was definitely Merkaba. It has the essentials. ;)
Never saw them live yet 😭
Hope you get to. Its life changing. Spiral out....
No excuses now! Roll on 2022
Was 5th row that night, dead center. One of the best experiences of my life
The advertising in the middle of Vicarious is funny .🙂
спасибо
I was there!
Tool makes song writing for the rest of us very difficult.
I was at this show, favorite part was 40:19
Holy macaroni and cheese with ketchup!! This is the best sounding bootleg (and illegal) capture of a show. I made it to 3 FI Tour shows and did not make it to one with Descending. His voice sounds great still at this late stage in the tour.
He can't quite hit the high notes on Parabola. But overall I would agree he still sounds great
@@scottnicholson6990 are you kidding? He hits the highs in Parabola better than he did from 2002-2018. He clearly put a lot of work into hitting those very recently.
Was in nose bleeds. Amazing show. The ending for forty six and two was brutal as fuck.
Become PNEUMA!!
Adam almost lost it during that one!!
Damn, i already forgot this was on RUclips. .
fuck my short memory. .
Absolutely amazing sound. Any idea if there are any recordings from the Nashville show in January 2020 with the same quality?
Check the link below, I was in Nashville also. Excellent show.

Do you have any tips for going alone. I have single ticket also and am pretty introverted, dont wanna talk with seat neighbours just want to get lost in the music and experience
Buy the seats surrounding you bro
Not generally a "chatty" scene... I went with my Best Friend, we barely spoke. Its about the experience...as you said "get lost in the music" You don't talk during a TOOL show, it's worse than talking during a movie.. IF you do talk I have some advise . . .learn to swim
@@chrispritchard1541 its randomly allocated seating, and my pockets not that deep haha. Im sure it will be fine though.
@@bigchief2331, I heard it; Enjoy the show!
I don't know how it is in the US, but I went to several shows alone. And if I don't want to talk to anybody, I just don't.
At the point I’m listening, this video has 1.3k views only 12 hours after being uploaded. And it has one thumbs down. Really? Who could give this a thumbs down?! Who is that disconnected from reality?? Who is that utterly clueless and that profoundly ignorant? WHO??
May be Maynard, he doesn't like it, because it was recorded without his permission lol
Emil Kalchev 😂
Bots
1:23:29
nukes likely
How are you getting the recording equipment into the show. I'm always afraid they will find something other than a cell phone in the security checks.
Extra old cell phone set to the audio recorder
I saw them @TD GARDEN last week, I love Tool, show was great, this new album is the best, but man MJK voice is getting really bad 😢
Yes, it is apparent that Maynard struggles at times on vocals now, which is to be expected at his age. But even though he gets a bit flat here and there, overall, I think he’s been really solid each night (I’ve been listening to people’s uploads from the tour) and at times he is excellent, which is really something when you’re pushing 60 (I saw them in Houston, Oct. 27, 2019).
he sounds great here
schism voice sounds awful... 👎
what?
Maynard can't sing fear inoculum live...
I saw him sing it 3 times, and he sounded great this night
