Question of the day 💡What Are You Going to Change About Your Thumbnails to Level Them Up? Join us & Gary Vee at the #1 Video Marketing Conference for Entrepreneurs "Grow With Video Live" ➡ GrowWithVideoLive.com
Hey Omar! You may want to check the comment section. You got a con artist posing as you and the team. He's asking people to call a phone #. It was a reply to what i posted here.
I feel like there’s no RUclips formula, whether good thumbnail or not if you will grow on RUclips you will. If the algorithm feels like it’s your time to blow up then that’s fine. A lot of people do create really good thumbnails and interesting topics and they still don’t get views. Just do you what you can and pray for the algorithm to pick you up. That’s the only key
I put a lot of time and thought into my thumbnails but I have found the videos that I click on are always the simpler thumbnails! Less words, more interesting image!
I use to think that but I’m convinced there is a formula. People are able to make multiple accounts and grow them to 100K followers. There has to be a formula but I think as the algorithm changes so does the formula. So no tactic is set in stone.
Personally I don’t click on Thumbnail if it seems like the picture is not from the actual video, usually, only because I don’t like exaggeration. Also for me title is the most important thing when I am on my homepage and thumbnail when I see it in next recommended/similar videos. Having said that couple of my best viewed videos are the ones in which subject is big/focused with minimal text. But text that actually was said in the video. Simplicity is huge for me and I click on simple thumbnails and titles.
Although thumbnails and video quality play major roles in viewership, I strongly believe no one truly knows why great videos and certain creators get low views. Don’t even mention “algorithm”.
Completely agreed. Most the creators I watch put little effort into their thumbnails and have extremely simple titles. I feel like all this “advice” is just a way for some channels to take advantage of channels that dont do well, and lead them even more incorrectly. Successful channels I watch, literally say they could care less about an excellent thumbnail or great SEO scoring title. They just have fun content and gained traction from years of slowly obtaining subs. Then youtube favors them for being big channels. I have a hard time believing most these videos and it really feels like Think Media is going down the road of targeting small youtubers that are desperate for answers, when there are no answers other than… keep pushing your channel and creating good vids.
Everything is a probability game. When I’m teaching someone how to fight one of the first things I say is “you don’t have to suck to lose.” But sucking does greatly increase your chance of losing. It’s a matter of not putting all your eggs in one technique basket, not pushing to the point of diminishing returns, and just thinking about things before you do them
@@DilophoManTV Most definitely … “ uncle algorithm “ doesn’t know your channel yet , with time , it will . So continue to throw the books 📚 at him . Consistency will win him .
Wow that's awesome ☺️just posted my first video 8 hours ago and i have 1 view and 2 subscribers am excited and super nervous since i have no idea what am doing but am learning
It's true I some times experiment with different thumbnails, and certain ones have a higher impressions click through rate, I notice the thumbnails I actually took my time on are the ones with the views, but that's only half of it, you also need to keep them watching because if the average view duration is low, your not going to get much watch time, I think honestly I've been doing pretty decent, others who have way more subscribers than me I get just as much views. I figured out it's something you have to learn on your own as you go.
If you want to rank by browse you need to have strong thumbnails along with a strong title that connects to your viewers. If you have keywords in your description and video in general you'll rank in search. The two of those together have a very powerful place on RUclips and is something I find is highly missed.
Feel like I am constantly struggling with the thumbnail for my workout videos. Just tried the remove background feature and really don’t like that look 🤷♂️
The problem with batching thumbnails like you suggest is that I often dismiss one of your videos because you reused the same face/expression in the thumbnail. I might not remember everything about a thumbnail but I often remember the expression of the face. Everytime you use the same picture in a different thumbnail you run the risk of people disregarding the thumbnail because they assume they've already seen it... especially when the topic is similar. Just something to think about. 🤔
Another clear lesson in YT content. I bet there are still some people not seeing what happened here.... Totally filled the meat of this video from another post production. Double dippin!!!! Smart because it's all about the $$$
I am also liking the idea of screen grabs! I've a new Neewer 10" ring light with tripod. It would be easy to set up my iPhone se to record a video with different poses. I am using a tapestry for my photo backdrop. Bring in the screen grab into Gimp on its own layer and place it on the original stockphoto with logo. :) Thanks Omar.
These examples are so cool! I'm surprised that some of your new thumbnails don't have text. The image tells the story well enough for people to click, inspiring! :)
And what if the thumbnails are good with a CTR of 25% (average is 8%), the watch duration is good (70%) but still RUclips is still not generating enough impressions for people to watch and engage with your content? Sheer luck?
Hi! Can you make a video on changing your content while keeping up views? I started my RUclips channel doing short nails.. the past 5-6 months I’ve really started loving long & XL+ nail length. My issue is because my channel was built around short nail sets, my long nail videos don’t do well. I do want to more dominantly do long nails because I feel more passionate about them.. but I also want to succeed with my channel. I don’t know how to “transition” my subscribers to like my long nail videos, and I’m not seeming to attract new subscribers who like long nails.

Yes my problem is not having structure to my channel. I post like 4 different niches, but it seems to be working. Wanna go down to 1 niche and make way better videos
I do whatever I can to make beautiful and simple vlogs. I know it's not easy, but it takes time to learn and grow while making a video and thumbnail pictures.
Helpful hints, gotta admit that, but if your channel, like mine is, about let's plays, what is the best course of action for the thumbnails? What would you suggest?
Find a similar type of channel and see what they're doing for thumbnails - your current ones seem distant and busy

@@ThinkMediaTV Thanks for the advice. Truth be told, I already did that. I've decided, rather recently, to make a few changes to my channel, to help me in the long run. I'll narrow down to a specific franchise and I went to see how the youtubers I follow for those games, do their thumbnails and I tried to make similar ones.
Thank you very much for your inspiration it’s helped me a lot I’ve just put 252 videos on my channel hopefully will see how it goes you do awesome work thank you very much
The thumbnail doesnt affect what videos i watch. The title is what draws me in.. if its an interesting title and not one if those 'OmG HuGe UpDaTe WaTcH NoW! '
I am creating good content but not getting views and that is very stressful but i am a person that doesn't give up easily i will keep grinding every day and praying, hope i get views that i deserve.
Don't listen to think media , listen to a person who failing at RUclips. First of all , don't just press record , make sure you're confident and comfortable in front of the camera before you press record. You have one shot to get people. Think about it , if you start a restaurant and the food sucks , people aren't going to come back. Next is going to be really hard to make it on RUclips , it's too many people that's doing RUclips so a great thumbnail doesn't mean anything. Next you have to be full time on RUclips , being a part time RUclipsr is not going to cut it. Unless you have something unique , it's going to be impossible to succeed.
There's no doubt that whenever you put yourself on the thumbnail, the best thing to do is just show your face, not from your waist up or your whole body, most cool thumbnails I see that use a face in them are like that, just a huge face with an exagerated expression on it, that is the best option!
You haven’t changed out your old thumbnails? Is there a problem doing so, I’ve assumed it would be fine to uplevel after publishing if my thumbnails if they aren’t working well. Is that wrong?
They're pretty old videos and we want our channel to show the progression, but going back into your older videos and changing them out is smart! We will swap out thumbnails if a video isn't performing too well when it's released

RUclips is hard to grow
Omar you’re a thumbnail King I will try to enjoy your idea in the future to plan a thumbnail before creating video

I feel that this is true. Some huge youtubers have the simplest content and thumbnails and get huge amounts of traction
I agree 100%
@@TheHunterHofman yeah like ceeday (simple thumbnails) but the thing is their already established
True. Some channels have low quality or simple videos, like sentences translations only, but has hundred thousands subscribers.
Thanks I will try
I put a lot of time and thought into my thumbnails but I have found the videos that I click on are always the simpler thumbnails! Less words, more interesting image!
There is no magic formula. Some RUclipsrs grow very fast and then the content is not even that good.
Some have very simple or what I would call bad thumbnails but I do think the fact that they do something different is what makes it...
Exactly

It’s so hard to crack the algorithm of a RUclips . Be it thumbnails , photos , fonts or hashtags . Do agree with most of your examples though
Indeed, all I can say it depends on your luck just keep on trying for 6 months if nothing happen try something else.
