Make sure your tesla is fully updated as much as possible. Also, plug into the charge cable first, then into the car. You may need to do a soft reset while plugged in, and unplugged if that doesnt start it. ( hold both scroll wheels on steering wheel for 10 seconds, and the computer will restart.) These steps worked for us with this exact adapter. The latough ccs is blazing fast , we are so happy with it. Also always stop the charge before unplugging, or you will arc and damage the adapter.
I'm impressed that BTC actually had a repair person out there to fix a charging station. Usually when an EA/EC station is down you can count on it being down for a while. They actually do have repair people!
I can see in the video that the LaTough has pins in the J plug, which I couldn’t see on the Tesla CCS adapter at 1:45 so I suspect the Tesla adapter won’t work on Level 2?
Yikes. That AC station you were at was illegally installed, at least based on US specifications. The station MUST communicate that max current capacity as not all cars allow you to manually adjust current (GM). So that means someone installed a 48 amp charger on a 40 amp circuit and neglected to program the charger for 32A.
I got them from a Company on Amazon called DIPMOTOR. Just search for “ Second Row Seats Back Cover All Weather Waterproof Seat Protector “ RUclips won’t allow me to post the link here.
The dangerous part about this is if you leave the flap open while level 2 charging, full line voltage will be present on the DC pins for anyone to touch. You rely on the budget electronics to save you
@@richard1113 the Tesla adapter cannot be used for AC charging, that’s why it doesn’t need any protection on the DC pins. For a plug that is going to be exposed to weather, a spring loaded flap is insufficient protection. It doesn’t even appear to have a gasket
The problem is really with the poorly run charge networks. They all want their stupid apps these days. What we need is federal regulation that places all chargers under one payment system. Or, they could just put on card readers…
I'm guessing this requires the same "retrofit" needed to allow the Tesla original CCS combo1 to work on older Tesla vehicles?
Yes. The car still need to have CCS charging enabled with the hardware.

Ya as you can hear I was surprised too. But we have no idea how long it wasn’t working for.
Thanks for watching
“I need to work on it.” Why would you think he wants to charge on it?
The question is if you plug Level 2 into the OEM Tesla adapter, does it charge.

Yes the stock tesla CCS adapter won’t charge level 2 (J1772).
No it does not charge. To my knowledge, this is the only 2-1 that I know that does this.

Is it possible to lock the j1772 port?
stop questioning the guy and let him fix it. lol. sheesh 😂
Yeah. I understood what the guy meant right away. Then the smart ass remark about so it is broken -

what year is the tesla in this video?
2022
tanx! @@DaxM
These are non code compliant. Charge networks will ban you for using them.
