THIS IS THE VIDEO IS WHAT I NEEDED my camera wouldn't turn on the my Energizer rechargeable batteries that used to work on my camera but then you made me realize that they don't work so thank you!
Thanks for the info. In addition to all that you've mentioned, I've had 2 Nikon L830's so far. I was forever putting new sets of batteries (alkaline) in them. Even if I didn't use the camera they became depleted after a few months. My spare batteries still on the shelf were still good over the same period of time. This means that the camera is using some power even when it was turned off. I tried removing 1 battery and refitting it (and resetting the date and time) each time I wanted to use it again and the set of batteries lasted years! That's when I realised the issue these cameras have. It IS a nuisance to keep having to set the time but if only used occasionally this will save the need to constantly supply these cameras with batteries. Of course if you are going to go out and shoot 400 photos in the next 3 months then it will be fine. I sold that camera and bought another Nikon L830. It was exactly the same! I sold that one too - though I have to say that it is actually a great little camera.
Same here😐i thought that what happened with my camera!!!battery does not work and not even take charge camera doesnot open...i was really scared😐😐thank u soo much.
hi I have a question. I just bought the L840 and it came with rechargeable batteries and a cord I thought was meant for charging but it only hooks into the AV port. Do you know what this cord is for?
I know I’m late to this, but I use Duracell rechargeable batteries and the last an extremely long time. I bring an extra set with me, but rarely have to replace it while I’m out.
Thanks for this detailed video. I wanted to use this camera after a long time, so fully charged the 4 EN-MH2 rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, and tried using the camera. But the camera turned off after one or two shots. A technician checked the batteries and said they had no charge. Wondering if the batteries are out of order or the charger. Anyway, switching to AA batteries now.
+how my lige change You have to have to the batteries in the camera. The camera doesn't use the batteries, it just needs them in case the 5.0v loses power.
carrying them is easy, since the camera uses 4 batteries, i just use electric tape once around the batteries, tight enough to keep them together, as well as compact. Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the recharging batteries. :D
Thanks for posting this video... I have a problem caused by a corroded battery that damaged one of the springy contacts located at the bottom of each shaft where a battery is inserted. Can those metal contacts be replaced? Can the camera be operated without batteries at all?
The brand of the portable charger doesn't matter as much as the voltage and battery capacity. As long as it outputs 5 volts and has around 5000mah, it should last you all day
How much mha portable battery need for Nikon l330, is the 10000mha mi portable charger right for this camera, and how can I buy other than battery for this camera.
The camera is powered by four AA batteries. And the special Nikon batteries do not come with the camera, you have to buy them seperately or in a bundle.
Sorry for the late reply! For me the camera would last a few days of moderate use. If you are only using your camera for half an hour each day I would expect them to last just shy of a week!
It's July 26 2020 and I think you just sold me on this camera. I want to film some hunts. The only thing I'm not familiar with is if it has an external mic hook up for windy days.
I have Coolpix l310 . I use Duracell alkaline batteries and even though the batteries are good the camera turns off abruptly while pressing the shutter button and shuts down the camera. when I restart the camera it displays batteries exhausted.
when i turn on my camera the circle around the on and off button turns green then vibrates but the screen doesn't turn on is that the batteries or like idk anyone help please.
Ugh :( I don't like carrying so many alkalines, i'm not willing to spend 50-80 bucks on 4 batteries with the "memory" issue, AND i got my camera (the l820) used so i don't have the cable. Thanks for responding though!! you just got a new sub :)
+sambertholf I didn't want to buy the special Nikon batteries at first, and I found them for $40 on Amazon. I only had to carry those and 1 spare set of alkalines in case the rechargeables died :) Spending that $40 was the best decision I made! And I was able to sell the camera for more with those batteries included, I sold my L840 and upgraded to a Nikon D3300.
There most likely wouldn't be much of a difference between rechargeable and disposable batteries. When the portable charger is being used, the camera draws very little from the 4 individual batteries.
Thank you for the video! Yesterday I bought Nikon b500 and when i turn off the camera, the on/off button still have green light. This morning I couldn't turn on the camera until i changed the batteries. Is there any other way to turn off the camera besides the button?
+Nabin magrine Those batteries should be able to function in the camera. Check 1. That they're all in the right order (negatives and positives) and 2. That the batteries are charged.
THIS IS THE VIDEO IS WHAT I NEEDED my camera wouldn't turn on the my Energizer rechargeable batteries that used to work on my camera but then you made me realize that they don't work so thank you!
+AbbyVlogs 56 You're welcome! Very glad i could help :)
I have a Nikon L340 and I get a lot of the low battery issues. So what setting should I change my battery settings to?
Omf... i didn't expect to find a video like this, thanks man.. Legend.
You're very welcome!

I thought the camera was broken. Thank you so much!! 💗
this is awesome!!! im getting this camera and this was so useful! thanks!
Thanks a lot for uploading this video! I saw it at the right time and it is so useful!
Excellent! Thanks so much for such great, succinct info--it was all exactly what I needed and had such a hard time finding!!
Just when i saw in slot written DC i jumped into the RUclips. And i found this.
Thanks for you dude
This is a dumb question but you DO have to keep the camera plugged into the power bank at all times if that's what you choose to use, right?
+leah lawson Yes, if unplugged, the camera shuts down (then u turn it back on) and it's running on battery
Leah Lawson can we recharged the batteries while keep in side of camera ?
Unfortunately you cannot. The cord will only power the camera, not the batteries.
Hi, how much volts and output energy (?) should have thw power bank?
Oh my goodness, this definitely has helped me. I was just looking crazy trying to figure out whether or not I broke my camera. HUGEEEE Help :)
Same here😐i thought that what happened with my camera!!!battery does not work and not even take charge camera doesnot open...i was really scared😐😐thank u soo much.
The batteries in my coolpix were severely corroded. Any suggestions on how to clean it?
hi I have a question. I just bought the L840 and it came with rechargeable batteries and a cord I thought was meant for charging but it only hooks into the AV port. Do you know what this cord is for?
I'm not sure :/ It should be a charging cord. Maybe a mess up on the sellers part?
EliteExpert
Hmm...probably. I bought the camera as refurbished from Best Buy so maybe that's why. Thanks.
Will this also work on my coolpix b500 cause it’s not turning on even tho I changed batteries. I changed to energizer but it still doesn’t work.
+Jeys Vough I have not personally tried it on the B500, but I assume it would work
Thank u man, I thought I was doomed with batteries for life!!!!!
I know I’m late to this, but I use Duracell rechargeable batteries and the last an extremely long time. I bring an extra set with me, but rarely have to replace it while I’m out.
Urmm I have the same camera and I can’t seem to open the battery slot so could you tell me how to do it?
Thanks for this detailed video. I wanted to use this camera after a long time, so fully charged the 4 EN-MH2 rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, and tried using the camera. But the camera turned off after one or two shots. A technician checked the batteries and said they had no charge. Wondering if the batteries are out of order or the charger. great info just what I was looking for thanks so much
How do you transfer the pictures to a computer? Do you use the HDMI-USB cable or do you use the AV-USB cable?
I use an SD card. I’m not sure if you can use the HDMI/USB or AV/USB to transfer!
Does this EH-67 usb cable work with CoolPix B500 ??
Yes! It does work.
Hello good day, can I ask if you can use those Eneloop Pro rechargeable AA batteries with this? Thank you God bless
Hi! Yes. They work with this camera.
@@EliteExpert ok thank you, you have tried it po? The 1.2 Volts of each battery doesn't cause an under voltage with the camera?
You have to get the 1.5v version
@@EliteExpert wait? There is a version of the Eneloop Pro batteries that is 1.5 volts?
Bro can we use 1.5v non-rechargeble dry cell on Nikon coolpix l830?
Almost any 1.5v battery should work with this camera.
i have a question if i use dc in 5.0v i have to use with the battery inside of the camera or without battery
+how my lige change You have to have to the batteries in the camera. The camera doesn't use the batteries, it just needs them in case the 5.0v loses power.
i can't use it without batteries ? what happen if the batteries doesn't have energy and i use dc in 5.0v with powrbank ?
+how my lige change That will work
carrying them is easy, since the camera uses 4 batteries, i just use electric tape once around the batteries, tight enough to keep them together, as well as compact. Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the recharging batteries. :D
If I was keeping was going to use to charger way do I need to take the batteries out ?
If you are using a portable charger, you need to keep the batteries in the camera
Thanks for posting this video... I have a problem caused by a corroded battery that damaged one of the springy contacts located at the bottom of each shaft where a battery is inserted. Can those metal contacts be replaced? Can the camera be operated without batteries at all?
Can I use 1.2v 2800mah rechargable battery?
Which brand portable charger did you use and where did you get it
The brand of the portable charger doesn't matter as much as the voltage and battery capacity. As long as it outputs 5 volts and has around 5000mah, it should last you all day
How much mha portable battery need for Nikon l330, is the 10000mha mi portable charger right for this camera, and how can I buy other than battery for this camera.
I have the same camera and it takes the shot twice. I tried checking the setting and I can’t find the solution. Do you have an idea what it could be ?
Do you have the setting changed to Sport mode or a setting with a faster shutter speed than normal?
Thanks but shouldn't we get the charger with the camera and the bateire and is the camera chargeble Thanks
The camera is powered by four AA batteries. And the special Nikon batteries do not come with the camera, you have to buy them seperately or in a bundle.
+EliteExpert thanks dude but I bought energizer rechargeble and a battery charger thanks
Thanks for this video!! It was very helpful. Do you know how long the camera lasts with the coolpix batteries? Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply! For me the camera would last a few days of moderate use. If you are only using your camera for half an hour each day I would expect them to last just shy of a week!
@@EliteExpert thanks so much!!

Are these good cameras?
hey man why B500 doesnt work with power bank
How do I put them innnn
How many MaH is your portable charger? I think I might buy this camera and I don't eant the extra expense of the rechargeable batteries.
+Jessica Lambert About 6,000 mAh
Thanks, do you know how long your power bank lasts while using the camera?
+Jessica Lambert A good 3 photography trips, it lasts for many hours :)
+EliteExpert Thanks! By the way, your vids are great; really informative and to the point.
+Jessica Lambert Thank you! I hope my info helped :)

@@rwishitanath yes
Hey would this usb cable work on my b500 camera ?
+Curdley Alexander Yes!
I like this guy. Thank you.
Do we have to keep the camera plugged in to use it?
Yup
How match send me this batry
I’ve been using regular batteries and it works just fine but it doesn’t last very
Long
Hello. My Camera wont turn on its screen and it just a light in the On/off button.
I use rechargeable Uniross 2600mah batteries, had no issues using these whatsoever!
link to buy please
My nikon coolpix l810 doesn't turn on when I put fresh new batteries in it...Help please
Vanessa S try alkaline 1.5v new 4 batteries . if opened go to settings and change camera to alkaline
where did you buy your portable charger?
+vixami Gearbest.com
EliteExpert thanks
What portable charger do u have?
Just a regular USB power bank with a 5V output
Wht mah portable charger do u need for this camera?
+Mike Josh As long as ur portable charger outputs 5V, the Mah capacity doesn't matter ☺️ although a larger battery such as 4,000Mah+ is better.
Energizer rechargeable batteries work with this camera. I have them and been using them for a while.
which ones?
What about rechargeables like amazon basics or enaloops?
+sambertholf Unfortunately not :( If the batteries are rated at 1.2V or less, it won't be enough energy to power the camera.
Ugh :( I don't like carrying so many alkalines, i'm not willing to spend 50-80 bucks on 4 batteries with the "memory" issue, AND i got my camera (the l820) used so i don't have the cable. Thanks for responding though!! you just got a new sub :)

Actually I could flip it. I got it used for 50$, and I could sell it for like 200 bucks!
+sambertholf That's crazy!! If you're comfortable with moving up to a more professional (definitely harder to use) camera, I recommend it!
Does anyone know how to reset this kind of camera
so when the camera just blinks twice, does that mean its dead?
+Darrell Haggins It should be a long blink if it's dead, which means it needs batteries changed our charged
what kind of battery type should i choose if im using a portable charger?
There most likely wouldn't be much of a difference between rechargeable and disposable batteries. When the portable charger is being used, the camera draws very little from the 4 individual batteries.
Is the USB to DC cord enough or do I also need the adaptor if a use a PowerBank like MI (10000 or 20000mah) ?
Thank you for the video!

The green light stays on all the time?
yes, the green light (on the on/off button) stays on. And i couldn't turn it on until I put new batteries.
Very strange. Have you tried holding in the On/Off button for about 10 seconds?
Can I use any disposable batteries on this camera?
what kind of power bank to use for the nikon l840 camera
good info thanks
omg. THANK YOU!
Very useful tips, thanks for sharing it.
Hi friend wow charger Review and next for charger nikon Coolpix b500 please Help me
Ni-MH stands for Nickel Metal Hydride batteries.
I just want to say this but my l840 came with energizer batteries and they work completely fine.
+Anthony Chiaramonte Were they rechargeable Energizer Batteries?
+EliteExpert no they aren't, they're non rechargeable batteries
+Anthony Chiaramonte In the video, I was referring to Rechargeable batteries not working with the camera.
OMG this video helped me sooooooooo muchI was thinking of taking this camera to the store that I bought it LOL
My nikon d 500 is not response and not open screen but why
+Nabin magrine Does it turn on?

+Nabin magrine What type of batteries do you have powering the camera?
Durasel batrry use me in my nikon camera
+Nabin magrine Those batteries should be able to function in the camera. Check 1. That they're all in the right order (negatives and positives) and 2. That the batteries are charged.
EN-mh2-b4/mh-73 kit 4 rechargeable batteries+charger
bro how to know battery of L840 i mean the persentage
+Cyril The Great The battery level at the bottom left corner of the camera screen is about as accurate as you can get on battery percentage.
I have same question but the percentage bar remains as it is and suddenly it says that batteries are exhausted.
Thank u so much
You're welcome!
