Nurse blocking a shot with his a*h*le sums up the Oilers night
took it in the ass alright
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The fact that was his best defensive effort the whole night
as an Oilers fan this is literally the most useful he's ever been
McChoke being invisible the whole playoffs doesn't help
The Oilers are a terribly flawed team. They are capable of doing damage, but they are so weak at times it is astonishing.
Glass cannons - once they have to do anything other than attack, it doesn't go well... Even if they somehow make the Finals, the Perry Jinx will do them in.
awp in cs without armor
Dallas is a team… Oilers are a collection of highly, highly skilled individuals. Look at how they all look around at each other when scored on…
Capable of damage to themselves 😂
Oilers are all gas - and when that gas is lit, look out. They are terrible defensively and mediocre in net, though - and tonight's game showed that. For that reason, their playoff PK #'s astound me.
Entertaining as all get out, though. No question.
Oilers fan here, I love the oilers with all my heart but that Vancouver series shaved 15 years off my life and this Dallas series is starting to make me bald, I seriously don’t know how many more stressful borderline underperforming games/series I can take. We are by far no means the worst team, but when we have games like this… it really makes you wonder how we even made it this far 😅😅
😂😂😂 have faith bud we’re only down 1!!! Dallas lost their first home game as well, then won the second. Let’s hope oilers can win their second
with all due respect in my opinion those finals 2 games against van said more about the canucks than it did the oilers, they clearly didnt show up. and above all, you guys gotta fix that goaltending. in case you couldn’t tell im not a oilers fan, but you have a great team that is a piece away from something great. i think it starts with a change in net. best of luck for the series
@@liamrose.9 I don't think the Oilers have a team, they have 2 mega stars. Dallas has a team. Vancouver has a team.
@@stingoh it’s over now. The big boys are still playing.
Why? Oilers haven't done anything since 1990, even worse than my Habs lol...
Hintz being back was a huge help, especially with getting Robertson back on the board. Go Stars!
My casual friends laughed at me picking Dallas to take the West. Especially when they saw their 1st rd matchup with Vegas. My response to them was that they clearly haven't watched this team before the start of the playoffs. Dallas is deeeeeep, and Jake is elite. Hard to beat a team like Dallas when you can only rely on McDavid, Draisatl and Hyman. They are a 1 line club. This is what Dallas does and they've been doing it all postseason. No lead is safe. That Edmonton crowd was absolutely stunned. As a Rangers fan I really want Edmonton to take this series because they are the easier team but I just don't see it happening. Stars/Rangers Finals. Depth vs. depth... elite goalie vs. elite goalie. That's the best matchup by far. We'll see what happens though, alot of hockey to be played.
I wouldn't dismiss
Florida that easy
when the round 1 matchups were set i told my buddy Dallas is gonna win the cup this year
I think they’re very capable
I too think it's going to end up Rangers vs Stars in the final, and I fear the Rangers depth and skill the same way you fear the Stars.
I know Florida would try to beat the stars into submission, but that game plan would not work against this team. The Rangers, on the other hand, wow! If it happens that way, it's going to be one helluva series!
Calgary Flames fans know from experience what Dallas can be like. Flames thought Round 1 of the 2022 playoffs would be a cakewalk, but Dallas took it to Game 7 overtime. Despite losing to the Flames in that overtime thanks to an impossible-angle Johnny Gaudreau shot, the Stars earned a ton of respect, especially with Otter's insane goaltending. Dallas is my pick for the West, too, and look for them to be in the playoff mix for a good few years to come.
Don’t bet against 97 and 29 as they love showing the arrogant naysayers that it takes 4 games to win a series not just 2…
Soon as I heard that Otter chant I was worried for the fans in the building.

At least there’s a silver lining. Nurse will be known as butt block guy and not not Edmonton’s biggest liability.
The funny thing is he ducked so he wouldn’t get hit with the puck but got nailed anyways.
The butt hole blocker
nah, Nurse is definitelly in top5 worst contracts in the league, but still not even the worst on the Oilers. Campbell takes the biggest liability title.
He looked way to comfortable in that position.
@@PixelPigEntertainment just another night for him...
Nurse was confused, he thought he was in the locker room.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes he gets it on the ice and in the locker room 😊
McGayvid is his butt buddy
🤣🤣🤣that position seemed too comfortable for him and didn't seem phased by the direct shot to the booty... 🤣🤣
When isn't he confused.
The resolve the Stars have shown throughout this run has been nothing short of spectacular. A lot of teams would have rolled over, but they just kept pushing through. They are a dangerous team.
Oilers are a glass cannon
Apt analogy.
Maybe the Oilers need to play another team that's injury ladened and have a third string goalie to prove how elite of a team they really are.
Maybe you need to get over the fact the oilers worked Vancouver.. wouldn’t have mattered if demko was in or not.. Not going to win to many games with only 14 shots you dummy’s.. lol no cups
Canucks would’ve won the series if they instead just put pucks on skinner
Their 3rd string goalie was still way better than Skinner and Oilers still beat them!
That 3rd string is an AHL goalie too! And was better than Skinner by far. Canucks just got to fancy instead of shooting the puck
Hintz was the difference tonight . Robertson is a totally different player when paired with Roope.
It's special. It's like they are on the same freaky hockey frequency. I love this game. Dallas team is really opportunistic. Maybe one nite its Seguin, one nite its Pavelski, somebody always seems to step up.
@@malcolmapplet4313that’s their biggest reason of success imo for this season. so many guys can score goals, there’s no one particular style of play, some guys have finesse, some guys just dump the puck on net, and others can fish for rebounds like crazy. It’s hard to contain them as the opposing team when you don’t know whose turn it is to step up for them that game. Plus a defense that’s not afraid to get in front of pucks, plays the boards very well, and can also score goals consistently. then Otter in net really stepping up for the team the whole playoffs, and when he had his slump early this year, Wedgewood stepped up & did his part. Very deep & well rounded lineup, it’s almost impossible to contain it when anyone at anytime can step up & change the game around.
That last shot/goal for the hatrick was why Canucks fans were so upset about the final 2 games. The canucks were going for perfect touches to get clean open net finishes and being fancy with it, when they could have kept throwing the puck at the net to actually test Skinner. They didn't start testing him until the final part of the game when they were uber desperate and still almost brought it back. In both game 6 and 7, not were they getting outplayed, they didn't even try and test the guy with routine shots. The same goalie that had been shakey all playoffs up until then.
As a canucks fan that’s what had my blood boiling during 6 and 7. Like they proved they were hungry to take it during 5 but completely lost it and we’re almost scared to take possession until the very last period.
Dude that drove me nuts, they were going for highlight reel goals when they all had to do was keep dumping pucks on Skinner, he is gonna mess up and crack eventually. He is not a good tender but they made him look amazing.
Absolutely. It also happened in Game 4! They didn't start playing until late in third. Didn't test Pickard at all. Then when they tied it just decided to stop playing again. Hronek was garbage in that play.
lol the canucks got worked.. get over it already
@@Bigmakpaddywackget over yet another season of failing Mcdavid

Edmonton almost always scores first. Its meaningless.
you should see dallas with a 3 goal lead
Dallas youngsters are IMPRESSIVE. The team is deep and goal tending is solid, I think they'll be playing Florida in the finals.
I’m an Oilers fan, but the 180 minutes of hockey played so far shows Dallas is the far better team. Hoping it turns around on Wednesday, but we don’t have a chance in hell if we don’t want to work for it. Dallas looks rock solid.
You misspelled Rangers.
You can't win a Stanley Cup when Stuart Skinner is you goaltender, the Oilers are very fortunate to have beaten the Canucks with their 3rd string goalie, they're not beating Dallas with Oettinger in net

Nobody truly realizes how well the Stars skate, they're always in a north to south mode and constantly moving
This is just in line for stars in 5
The Oilers ability to $h!t their own pants in this playoffs has been astonishing. They’re gunning for some kind of record. I’ve never seen a team beat itself with this level of procedural accuracy. It’s as if they rehearse it in practice.
Bro, the first line of that comment, omfg😂😂😂😂😂
Weak goaltending and inconsistent defense is going to ultimately be their undoing.

They're regular season heroes at best
The STARS at night are big and bright deep in the city of edmonton.. GO STARS!!
McDavid on the ice for three against. McDefence lol
Meanwhile Darnell Nurse is -12 through the whole playoffs. $9M guy btw
I mentioned this in a lot more detail in a comment on another video, but in Round 2 vs the Canucks McDavid was +2 for the whole series and Draisaitl was +0. Take away the one "anomaly" game (game 6 IIRC), and both were minus for the remaining six out of seven.
McDavid is +5 during these playoffs, not great, not horriric either 🤷
McDavid should be traded.

Dallas is a very good team. They are much deeper than the Oilers. They just need to clean up their first period starts.
They've had all the opportunity to be up 3-0 instead of down 2-1.
SKINNER! SKINNER! SKINNER! Lmao.
Oilers needed to be 4-0 at the end of the first.
They really needed to take advantage of the sleeping Dallas team while they had the chance. It very easily could have been 3-0 or 4-0 after the 1st, but only a 2 goal deficit with 40 minutes left isn't big enough. I'm not saying they need to outscore them in the 1st every game, but when your opponent is sleeping, gotta milk it as much as possible, because its the playoffs and they will bounce back.
good point
Or the Oilers can just play a full 60 minute game
Doesn't matter. They did that against LA and VAN and still blew bigger leads. They just get up and stop playing. Has very little to do with the opponent. Just fits the "Dallas is better/deeper" false narrative. Should be up 3-0 right now if they even played 50 minutes the last two games.
how many times did the Oilers turn it over on the Stars blue line. rough to watch
About as many times as they let Dallas crowd the net and do nothing to clear them out. Doesn’t anybody hit anymore ? No physical play at all… just let ‘em loiter in front like they’re waiting at a bus stop. Total candy ass defense.
@@fellspoint9364I noticed that as a Stars fan, the Oilers didn’t seem to apply the same pressure physically. idk if they’re afraid of going on the PK but while the Oilers keep the Dallas players to the boards with stick pressure, the Stars use their whole bodies to apply pressure along the boards & towards the blue line. sometimes players forget their body is equally as useful as a stick or skate
One of the best game recaps I've watched this season. Solid work! Subbed.
I expect them to start Pickard regardless next game maybe to also let Skinner rest and recharge. Nurse is -12 and Desharnais is -8 which is really not good. Dallas just seems like the better team and the oilers look a bit gassed.

@@Rocky-e2b responding to the title of the video
I'm a Canucks fan and I've seen MANY Oilers games where they explode with momentum either in just the beginning of the 1st or the whole 1st period just to die in the next 2. Especially in their 3 last series against LA, mainly in their home games, Edmonton has such a strong start, but uses all their energy, thinking they've already won setting themselves up to collapse miserably later. It's honestly embarrassing to watch... A major issue that all the Canadian teams (including Vancouver) have is that they can't play a full 60 minutes (or more if there's OT). The Canucks were kinda the opposite of the Oilers by playing awful the whole game and only start playing decent in the end of the 3rd. This year they were so lucky to comeback and win a few games that way, but it clearly showed in the VANvsEDM series that you can't wait that long every time and expect to win...
Just like the Panthers needed to take advantage of that game Sunday where Igor gave up 4 goals for the first time ever in a playoff game and they still lost, the Oilers needed to win Game 2 when Skinner actually played well and they still lost. Those could be two very costly losses.
Great analysis for those of us that missed the game Thanks!

The Stars have Hintz back. The Stars have 9 players that would be top 6 forwards on any team in the NHL. They can afford to rotate who is "hot" on any given day, or as the Stars themselves have said, they'll share that "Main Character Energy" and it shows.
This series is all about EDM out-performing the Stars. EDM needs it's star players to show up big every game and for every shift.
All Dallas has to do is what the Canucks did all season long against the oilers except the last 2 games when the canucks suddenly forgot how to stick to their system. And that's stick to their system. The Oilers really struggle against teams who maintain discipline to their structure. They'll break first.
Full credit to the Oilers, for one thing....they play pretty well when they are desperate. But if Dallas just elevates a little when the Oilers are desperate they can control and counter attack.

My theory is that when the oilers play to their ceiling, almost nobody can beat them. The problem is they are incapable of doing it for 60 min. The excellent teams they are playing now understand this and they literally win the battle in the 15-20 mins they fall off that standard.

Go stars!!!!
The most dangerous lead in hockey (especially playoffs) is the 2 goal lead and Oilers proved it in the 2nd. You can't let a guy like Robertson get back his scoring touch in a series that's going to be close. Especially now with Hintz back, it's going to be an uphill battle and Skinner can't let a little fake by Robertson get that bank goal for the hatty. I was rooting for Vancouver to cap off their dark horse season and Dallas was my #2 pick since I have no dog in the fight for the cup this season. But I still am enjoying tight-knit hockey.
Dallas can already roll 4 lines, but with Hintz back they can do it more comfortability. Robertson scoring is good news for Dallas, but bad news for Edmonton. Bouchard is the definition of a defensive liability, he's so bad around his own net, but hey he redeems all of that for his offence... Also Nurse is making 9.25M for the next 5 years and he looks like a 3rd pairing defensemen. Anyways Stars in 5.
The one thing the Oilers have going for them is their ability to bounce back from adversity.
McDavid can’t seem to hit the wide open net
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the oilers can’t win a cup with skinner on the team it’s as simple as that they are completely outmatched in the goaltending department, the only way the oilers win this series is if they out score the stars, but with oettinger it’s too difficult
The Oilers showed who they are tonight, as did the Stars . Just in opposite ways . Dallas showed how resilient they are , and the Oilers showed how sloppy they are !
Glad that some does not hate skinner for once😂
The 1st and second line forwards just don’t think its their job to backcheck. They float around and wave their sticks.
In the previous series, they were doing a better job, maybe they’re just getting tired, but yeah if McDavid and Drai aren’t scoring, its their lines getting scored on most of the time.
I thought Nurse had headed it so thanks for the "bums up!"
Mcdavid showed up to be hyped up all game. Then they fell apart the last 40 mins
Why do you sound so disappointed? Thought you were a flames fan?
Let’s Go STARS!!!
The Oil hot and cold pattern will leave them hoping luck is on their side.
The Oilers have so much dead cap space tied up in bad contracts. Nurse at 9.25M for infinity years, Campbell at 5M, they're still paying James Neal 2M next year, Kane is making 5.1M. And then you couple that with it being a top heavy team to begin with and there's just no room at all to pick up the kind of depth a team like Dallas has. Historically teams built like the Oilers just don't win the cup.
Oilers got JROBBED!!! LETS GO STARS!!! I think the stars squeak out another road win, go back to Dallas lose, then close it out in Edmonton. Stars in 6!!!
