      You are wrong... on the number of languages, the wife is learning hokkien, the children might pick up one or more of teochew, Cantonese etc too

    i see you guys eat nasi lemak, so i also went to shop to buy nasi lemak . A simple nasi lemak plate with a whole egg but with no chicken only comes to RM 2.20 in ipoh..

      It’s difficult to evaluate expensive or cheap when you compare Ipoh to KL. Living cost is different.

    i think nasi lemak with beef rendang for Rm8 is acceptable, since nasi lemak at mamak just add ayam goreng the price will go up Rm7. so for me RM8 with rendang it still acceptable

    Try the teh tarik at Mansion Tea Stall at Selangor Mansion and eat their roti goyang aka roti canai special. You must also try breakfast at Yut Kee Kopitiam for Hainanese style breakfast. It is the oldest surviving kopitiam in Kuala Lumpur.

      Yes. I think that is the main reason because Malay people historically tend to live near river. So when rain comes, sometimes it will flood the area. So these houses were built to avoid it.

    其实 “高脚屋” 的主要目的是防淹水。以前马来人他们住靠近河流的地区,当雨季时时常发生淹水。所以就把屋子立了上来。

    This is now a very touristy nasi lemak. When my daughter was small this place was less crowded. I'd recommend you to try the nasi lemak at the row of food stalls behind the stadium near the hospital. There's one stall with a prawn sambal run by a bro, not the center stall run by the aunty although hers is good too.

      早期高脚屋都是在树林里为了防野兽等等,因为以前的马来西亚到处都是树林,包括现在的吉隆坡也都是树林后来华人才被吉隆坡慢慢发展起来。
