In huge pot not rendang. That is beef curry, one of malay dishes they usually cook on village feast/ wedding ceremony. The leaf we call 'daun Selom'(selom leaf).
The tradisional ayam percik kelantan is white in colour.. that what I ate when I grew up in Kelantan but now its really rare to get the white one even in Kelantan
Usually we called it as daging gulai kawah (big pot/wok beef curry),but if we cook it longer it will become Rendang,and if longer and dryer it will become a Serunding. Some pro tip,that veggies is an Ulam called King's Salad/Ulam Raja. Better taste if you dip it with sambal or any condiments.
What you had at 4:36 was Putu Halba not Putu Piring. You were lucky to try that! It is a seasonal item that can only be found during monsoon/flood season (November-January) in Kelantan. Maybe the seller was trying to break the norm haha. Putu Halba is made from tapioca and has fenugreek inside, so it’s chewy, yellowish and has distinct flavor. Putu Piring is white, made from rice flour so it has this dry, powdery texture, tastes very similar to Putu Bambu (bamboo), but Putu Bambu is nicer and doesnt have that dry crumbly texture bcs of the bamboo steam andit has this great bamboo aroma to it. All Malay Putus (we have Indian Putus as well) are the type that must be eaten hot for you to fully appreciate that, if they’re cold, it won’t taste as good. For Nasi Kerabu, I’d reccommend to get a staff to make that for you to fully experience it. It’s a complex dish served with blue rice, cannot put just anything to it like Nasi Campur, Nasi Ulam, Nasi Kandar.

Actually the beef is not rendang...in kelantan, we call it gulai kawah(quite similar to beef curry). It is usually serve during wedding..it is cook in big wok..that produce special taste to it...
If you eat ikan bakar (grilled fish) always remember to take a small bowl of air assam!! (a sauce that's a mixture of tomato, raw onion, chilli, belacan and lime juice or tamarind juice)
Trip to kelantan/terengganu/pahang will be a good idea..east coast is very different if compare to KL eventhough KL is melting pot of everything Malaysian..
Nasi kerabu should be eaten with sambal tumis, shredded herbs and veges and kerabu(fine fish flakes). Dont worry. Next time dont be shy to ask the staff or locals to advise you how to eat Malaysian food. We are happy to help😊
