One of the reasons Muslims do fasting is to deepen and understand the feelings and conditions of the poor community who live hungry or do not have food. Therefore we will feel grateful to God and want to help the poor community. For example, we will understand how the Gaza/Palestinian citizens feel.

Woww..bro..you verry experiance choosing traditional malay food. Pisang goreng, karipap, cempedak goreng, tepung pelita, bubur pisang..mantap! Apam balik in my state Sabah calling kuih bulan and we eat the cempedak seeds after peeling the skin. There have more traditional food your dad and mom should try because that cant be found in the western. Suggest Sunway Lagoon and Genting Highland for next trip 😄. Have a great moment with your family in Malaysia.

If they fry the chempedak well, you can just bite the cempedak flesh WITH the seed without boiling it. It will be a blend of nutty and sweet fruity flavour. I'd say the nutty taste will balance out the sweetness.

bukan bubur pisang tapi “pengat pisang”, kalau guna ubi keledek kita akan call it “pengat ubi” becoz ada texture.
Tapi if texture like pulut hitam/kacang hijau, gandum then only we call them “bubur”, tiny texture.
But semua using coconut milk + gula melaka , daun pandan to begin with.

I think if your parents cant stand the heat, better bring them to dine in air conditioned restaurant. My place has not received even single rain drop for this past two weeks which is really unusual and out of the norm. Lets hope the heatwave do not last long.
