Actually you can eat the cempedak seeds. Just boil them, they v nutty. As for tepung pelita, scoop it together with the green layer. They are meant to be eaten together. Eating the white layer only is incorrect.
If they fry the chempedak well, you can just bite the cempedak flesh WITH the seed without boiling it. It will be a blend of nutty and sweet fruity flavour. I'd say the nutty taste will balance out the sweetness.
You cannot get enough Bazaar Ramadan despite me already been to 4 different places already , .lol . Your folks came over to Malaysia at a pretty good time experiencing all of this.
