Just a sidenote, despite being called "Hakka Leicha", the version that we eat in Malaysia are mainly based on a certain hakka called Hopo Hakka (河婆客家)。 Most other hakka do not have this Leicha culture. If you go to past, many other hakka people have never heard of this food. Taiwan also have Leicha, but their ingredient is different and they mostly "drink" only. The version that you eat with rice, is Hopo version.
I like the fact that Kaori San is real and upfront with her opinion on the taste of Lei Cha, and continue to eat it anyway. To be honest, we have it in Singapore but I have never try it before, cause I’m not really into vege, thanks anyway!

As it hv many different recipe. even different hakka family hv their own recipe. I myself dont like bitter taste one. But my mum cooked Lei Cha not bitter at all, as we did not put those bitter herb. So pls Kaori n Kwok Yeow keep trying to find a non bitter version, I'm sure sooner later u will like it!😜
I am hakka, i still remember i had leicha every afternoon for almost 10 yrs when my mom was housewife. And my family member run leicha reataurant and became 1st famous in JB back to 20 yrs ago...we love leicha like we love our money 🤣🤣🤣

I love hakka lei cha however not every stall or shop made it taste nice.However there is one coffee shop in PJ Old Town behind Jin Xuan Dim Sum restaurant,d aunty made a nice hakka lei cha rice,I can eat several times a week when I was working around that area. The man loves it too
Next video do try Cantonese Clay-pot Chicken rice famous in Kampar, Perak. i drove from the south via Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan/AH2/E1 clocking close to 546km from my odometer finalise to eat this. So why not ?
Nowadays, we can see rei cya restaurant lesser and lesser. Because this dish requires a lot of different vegetables and spices and It’s hard to cook the soup with only one man. My grandmother and mother are the only people who know how to cook it and the recipe in my family. QQ
I'm hakka (originally from HK but our ancestry was from central/northern China) and I've never had this leicha. It looks more like medicine! BWT, most of the hakkas came to Taiwan following Sun Yat-Sen who was also a hakka.

Lei Cha very healthy diet. Very popular food in Malaysia. Normally Chinese ppl when they want to eat diet food, they will go for LEI CHA. As Chinese hokkien, I dislike the flavour. But my wife crazy for this. Not easy to find restaurants or outlets who sell LEI CHA. 😁

i love Lei Cha. if you all can ignore the "Pahit" its taste real good. especially if you manage to blend all the nuts and vegetables

客家の擂茶に興味があってマレーシア旅行中にイポーの喫茶店で初めて注文しました。お茶と様々な材料を擂ってドロドロにしたスムージーみたいなものだと思っていたら炒め野菜やご飯もが出てきて本当にびっくりしました。台湾でも客家擂茶はありますがご飯は付いていません。擂茶の多くはタイバジル(金不換/九層塔)とミントが入っているのでかなりかなり好みの分かれる味ですね。
雷茶和榴莲一样。喜欢的人会觉得好吃,不喜欢的人会觉得有一种难以接受的味道。我以前也不爱吃雷茶但后来慢慢习惯了🤣

其实雷茶的茶其实是薄荷叶的汁。如果伤风了可以试试喝雷茶。我是超喜欢吃的。不油腻吃起来又健康。但我不喜欢放花生进去。我是喜欢分开吃的。饭里面是不加雷茶的。把雷茶当成汤来喝。很开胃。

不会比苦茶苦,但是有青草涩涩的味道。我自己就挺喜欢。
我就挺喜欢的,没有肉食的情况下就算吃饱了也不会撑得难受,就是觉得舒服的饱而已,是纤维的好来源,我挺喜欢那茶汤的,蔬菜的味道在大热天也可以清新一下
