You make some of the better videos in Malaysia. The videos are stable, interesting and informative. You both are also very unpretentious, compared to many videos profiling high priced restaurants, condos and shops especially the mm2h types. Just to show off how rich they are with Malaysia's cheap cost of living compared to where they came from, while the locals have to work so hard. Your videos also cover more varied subjects, instead of just food which are too common there. I suggest for audience like here in USA you do more videos on interesting places too soon. Thanks for the great effort, and your honesty. I am glad you have a happy and healthy family, and you like living in Malaysia.

The soup for dried pan mee is to help to stop the clumping up of the dry noodles if you take away. I always order dry version outside and mix all the chilli sauce in the noodles (with some soup especially if I take away). If at home, it's always soup based and noodles are torn for me. if you like the chilli sauce (suitable with many dishes) you can use store bought nandos chilli sauce (I blend my own)
So nice to hear Hokies spoken in this episode! The chili sauce for dry pan mee, ideally, should pour onto the dish and mix well. A well made chili sauce makes all the difference. Should you crave for a good pan mee & wanton mee, there’s one in Sungai Buloh not far from Decathlon there.
For those torn by hand, hokkien people usually call it "mee Hoon Koay" or "mee hoon ker" depending on whether its north or south. It literally means flour cake and it's usually served in soup along with veges and meat balls. When i was a kid back in the 80's, we never heard of Pan Mee before... hahaha The common way is to put the pan mee on a deep soup spoon, pick the chilli sauce with the tip of your chopsticks and dab it on the noodle before eating. Or in my case, I scoop the chilli sauce with a soup spoon before putting the pan mee :-)
For good consistency in Panmee you should consider visiting those franchise Panmee stores like Super Kitchen, Jojo Pan mee and etc.. If you have a chance, you should try the 168 Pan Mee located at Kepong Desa Aman Puri.
Pre COVID time if she use bare hand to tear the kway I wouldn’t mind. But now is COVID period. The very minimum is to wear a glove while preparing food. Every little step goes a long way in fighting this pandemic.

If at home, it's always soup based and noodles are torn for me. if you like the chilli sauce (suitable with many dishes) you can use store bought nandos chilli sauce (I blend my own)
i also like the hand torn method noodles as it gives an inconsistency feel to every piece, so every piece is unique in texture

The dry noodles reminded me of the Chinese chow fun wide rice noodles 😅
a bit different, pan mee is more chewy to me and quite thick than normal mee. hor fun much softer, both are good.
板面還是麵粉糕最適合堂食.打包會影響口感因為黏在一塊了..味道會變差
