These is a lot that I wanted to say on this subject, but most of it is already covered in this video. I’d like to reiterate the point that one’s LEGO city needn’t be a humongous endeavor. Careful planning and use of space will, in the end, be that much more rewarding. Ones city can be realistic, they can be whimsical, they can be outrageous, the can be nonsensical to others, they can be inspired by real places, or they can be your vision on how you’d like your own neighborhood to look and function. Just don’t be discouraged. You’ll never like your first draft but the beauty of LEGO is that you can always change your mind at anytime.

Well said Gordon. I wish I'd said that in my video :-)

I love how you've created something different by having your modulars surrounding a town square and not consisting of roads and trains. I find your videos inspiring knowing that you've created all this on one Ikea table. Look forward to future updates 😊

Hi Sandra and welcome to the channel! Thanks for your kind words and yes I'm very happy with my little LEGO city -but of course the nice thing about LEGO is that you can always change things. I hope to continue with creative changes and possible expansion so please do look out for more updates! :-)

I know how much room a train take up, needing the full loop, but a small tram could be motorised on a back-and-forth run with a colour sensor and not too much effort!

Hello and welcome @Yogington Yes, the idea of a tram is quite appealing. I will be looking at the new city set 60423 to see if anyone can work out how to motorise it.

i like the ypu set up your city, roads take up so much room, i am struggling with that in our city, but I love the idea of a street car or trolley for the minifigs to get around.

A tram / street car would be a nice idea and possibly take up less space than a train/railway/railroad layout.

Still have to one day get myself down to old Mederhell and investigate that pickerbrick wall thingy, maybe next week. I do like your harry potter creation, I will have to take a look at the harry potter sets as ive only ever looked at the trains. That be one impressive Town hall you have there, does look well in its pride of place spot. Considering getting that Marvel building with the spider as ive noticed its on sale although that might be on hold this month as I ordered the brickcross train station. Could not resist a train station that impressive. I stopped with the 6 wide Orient Express train once the cost became more than buying the proper Orient Express. Would have been nice but Lego is charging FAR too much for their Pick a Brick online service when it costs over £220 for just 1300 pieces, just spent 230 for over 3000 pieces of Brickcross station, something does not add up there. Keep up the great work.

I find that some of the Harry Potter sets are very good for older-style buildings including of course various parts of Hogwarts, the shops in Diagon Alley and other traditional style buildings.

Yes I've seen the Sanctum Sanctorum building set 76218 from 2022 at a good offer price in several outlets so if you want one it might be worth getting it while they are cheap. Although of course the BrickCross station is a limited edition so you have to get that while it's available :-)
