24:53 hate to break it to you, but while Fauna’s name is deer-based, female deer are actually called does. What her name is referring to are baby deer (also called fawns), and the fact that Fauna has spots in the back of her head matches this as well (young fawns have spots on their backs, and they lose these spots as they grow older and gain their adult coloring)

27:00 Also the catchphrase "mon chou" while literally translated is my cabbage in French, is actually a common term of endearment/belittling kiddy pet name similarly to how we call people cutie pie, pumpkin or munchkin (belittling may be extreme but you get what I mean, you call kids cute little names but if you call a fellow peer that it’s more of a "sit down the adults are talking" kindof name calling, or you’re just being cheesy with your partner lol). So that may be his catchphrase because he’s a super manly man who looks down to you because you’re just a kid in his eyes

    • @UltimateFunBilly

Or it could have originally been "mon dieu" translating to "my god" but the ESRB would say otherwise. This also explains Wilbur saying "November Oscar Whisker" instead of "November Oscar Whiskey"

With Vivian meaning "life" or "alive" it could reference that story in mythology where a female wolf saved the twins Romulus and Remus who were almost drowned when their father was killed. The twins then went on to create Rome. In 4th(?) Century Rome there was also a martyr named Saint Viviana, which helps link the theme I think

Maggie's likely named after pearls because of the phrase "pearls before swine", the same thing Spoink and Grumpig are based on.
Also, 'rhon' does _not_ mean spear in Welsh- it doesn't mean anything. Spear is 'bêr', 'gwaywffon', or 'picell'. The name Rhonda comes from the Rhondda Valley, an area in South Wales itself named after the river it surrounds. Rhondda _may_ come from the Welsh words for 'recite', as in, the recital of the river, but no one's sure. It definitely doesn't come from spear, tho. In _Gaelic,_ on the other hand, it _does_ seem to mean 'good spear'. Just... not Welsh, as you said (although I think mistakes can be forgiven in a one-hour video, tbf)

Some notes I wanted to add:
30:24 Actually, eu does not act as just an o sound, eau does. Eu is a sound I can't really explain in English phonetics.

37:07 Limburg is ALSO a province in the south of the Netherlands... the province where I live. Limburger cheese is actually not from here though, but from the former Duchy of Limburg which covered part of what is now Belgium.

42:28 For those wondering, the Dutch word moe is pronounced 'moo'. Yeah. Cows are tired (which I'd translate 'moe' to, lazy is usually referred to as 'lui').

53:13 Rooney's Italian name is Balzak, which is Dutch for... well... a certain male body part that in English already sounds similar to 'balzak'. For this reason alone, I want Rooney on my island.

58:31 Stitches is a male villager.

1:05:33 Zucker is also the German word for sugar... and Zucker is very sugary indeed.

You missed a bit on Big Top. In a circus, the tent with the main attraction (thus a larger, higher tent) was referred to as “The Big Top”. So it’s just a direct reference to that, not necessarily to a specific Elephant.

1:05:35 Zucker's Name probably has some inspiration in the German word for Sugar too. I mean Zucker literally means Sugar in German. Combine that with his "sweets" theme and you have a relatively strong connection between the two, if i didn't get something wrong.
