For advancer users is perfect, for those like me that not like to much changes is very stick to 11, however Granulator III and mixer tool could be useful!
I bought Live 12 yesterday, and I'm looking forward to get in 2024 :-) There are definitely new features, that I will appreciate. Especially MPE that allows you to draw pitchbends (add portamento) as you showed in the video! I like the new mixer in arrangement view. All in all it's gonna be cool to get 12.
@@LNADoesAudioStuff ordered the upgrade right after watching your video. my only fear is plugin related and projects and working properly. have you tried projects made in 11 that use 3rd part plugins?
I will upgrade for CC control alone, taking automation of expression, dynamics, mod wheel, etc., out of clips and onto the lanes like other automation. I hate drilling into clips for these things, limited to that clip.
For budget synths look up dawless studio.. novation circuit comes to mind, if you get native instruments midi keyboard, comes with some sounds for computer, if you cheese Akai midi keyboard comes with sequencing and some sounds...lots to choose from
Browser Logic looks like, great things Brail reader, Randomize, Deviation, Grouping notes as video editors clip grouping, rest nothing special but good upgrades. I love Ableton but I've only finished a track or two in it and I'm totally stuck. I'm always fixing and correcting something :D The problem with Ableton as with Bitwig is the price and the license. With the fact that Bitwig can be purchased through RTO on Splice and can be installed on 3 machines. In addition, both do not have Dolby, which Logic and Cubase have, Cubase even has a chord assistant with which you cannot miss a hole when playing, plus installation on 3 machines and plus RTO on Splice . I don't understand why Ableton doesn't have an RTO option, isn't it better to get more money than to have a lot of cracked ones. Last time, instead of buying an upgrade for Ableton, I bought Logic btw. Overall I still prefer Ableton but as someone who makes more money as a BMD Resolve trainer and video editor I can live without Dolby because Resolve already have but over time, Ableton gives less and less in relation to the price and in relation to other DAWs. I really expected more and I was even more disappointed after your review 😀
Hey Lna I m using abelton 11 my laptop confrigration are i3 processor 7th genration i have recentely increased my laptop capacity with 8gb ram and 500 gb ssd but i m still facing lot of problem while making my track. It usally getting hang ,audio not running properly what should do..please suggest.. From India
As you are using a Windows laptop I would suggest ripping out all of the processes and programs that aren't being used - Windows, in particular version 11, is a massive resource hog and not really the friend of music producers. Have you tried removing all of the crapware and crap processes that Microsoft install with Windows 11 ? Bloatynosy is a fantastic utility for removing this. In addition, try increasing the size of your swap file. Are you using an external audio interface ?
Money grab! Lmao. Right? How dare they expect to be compensated for their work? I'd absolutely love to work for years without pay. Think of all of the debt collectors that I could be dodging while neglecting my family for 40 hours a week, bent on a mission to fix a bug for someone! Nothing is more rewarding than ignoring valuable feature requests and instead rewriting code for an increasingly outdated version. The lack of gratitude for such efforts would be payment enough in my humble opinion.
The girl is like she's never heard of xln xo or atlas. Sample organization has been done before. Nothing groundbreaking here if you have those vst mentioned.
filtering vst sorting is still garbage. It would be better if ADG notified that what DLL is not on the computer, then storing presets and sorting them into folders would be more convenient without the scan load, I don’t want to scan every live launch. FST does it all in fl studio
Ableton taking a page from "Native Instruments 💪 Maschine", with regards to TAGS. That being said, GUI still looks dated👎, change the DAMN thing already🤬
I have been a Live user since version 1.0. I still have the box! But the only thing I’ve been missing in the past few years is ARA support, and I see it’s still not there. So, I’ve sadly been using Cubase and Studio One, specifically for use with Vocalign and RX connect in Cubase. If Ableton has something that competes with that, I’m eager to try it. I don’t mind DAW hopping in a larger workflow, but the truth is I am using Live less as I get more accustomed to the others. I still prefer Live for spontaneous ideas, though.
I put in my upgrade pre-order, earlier this evening. The improved UI should be an improvement in workflow, especially having the mixer visible in arrangement view. and that is worth a lot to me. The rest is a nice bonus.
I like dark themes for ableton, but the highlight color settings, and especially the grid contrast setting, are not deep enough. just changing the grid contrast percentages turns Ableton into striped prison bars, you need to interfere with the code more strongly
Loved watching you enthusiastically make a sound using Meld. It made me subscribe. You’re doing a great job as a presenter and are obviously a true Abletoneer as well. Glad I discovered your channel!
as a blind user of other DAWS I'm glad ableton is finally adding accessibility which makes it usable for me. I got live intro because I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I love it. As a new user coming from reaper and logic I still have much to learn, but it made making music making for me really fun. I can't wait to see what improvements will be added in the future and I hope to upgrade to live suite soon enough.
I use Ableton rewired into studio one. The ability to quickly find new sounds (sorted by similarity) is worth the money. That's priceless and makes the huge collection of sounds and instruments far more valuable.
Hi I've done beginner and Intermediate course's on Ableton 11 but the think the thing I suffer from is mixing! Do you have any course material on this. Any links would be appreciated or a point in the right direction!
Feels criminal that I just spent over $3000 for a standalone and suite and now they want another $200 for the upgrade. Doesn’t seem right. Oh! And love your videos Liina 🙂
@@Rivanni Well, tell me what the keyboard shortcut is? "B" - just turns on drawing mode. and using modifiers is not the same as SWITCHING MODE. If you're stupid, don't write anything on the Internet.

Yes I am soo glad they added these functions to Live 12!
I am so excited for this, a great update!
Stop everything! A mega video by the great LNA on Live 12. Got my mug full of coffee and my eyes and ears wide open… ❤🎉
here are the built-in midi effects, this is very cool, this is what I asked for, the only thing missing is post fx midi record

If you got a nice pattern can you lock the notes in on section then generate some more patterns for the rest?
You can always dublicate the clip and create as many variations as you wish :)!
Thanks a lot for the great video 🙂it helps me immensely diving into Live 12 Beta!
Glad I could help!
LNA, you are so cool. I have learned so much from your videos!!!

Live 12 already, maybe ableton should focus on fixing the bugs on live 11, live 12 should be a free update, this is a money grab.

The midi tools are just ok., they are nothing to go crazy for. They would be way more interesting if they were automatable which they are sadly NOT.
What makes you say these MIDI tools are not automatable?
