A big thank you to @susanoerter1419 and @efratb4058 for pointing out that at 4:37 I placed a card I was using to flip a stone in my scoring pile instead of my discard pile! 😰 I really try my hardest to not make mistakes in my solo playthrough videos (or at least acknowledge them as I'm editing the footage) but I seem cursed to fail regardless! Sorry about that!
Fail is such a harsh word to describe a little slip up! While I really appreciate you shooting for perfection in your tutorials, an occasionally miss is pretty dang good in my book!!! 🤗🤗🤗
@@walkredroad That's very kind of you to say! I really appreciate that! ☺ I always welcome any critiques or suggestions or strategy tips on my solo playthroughs, so thank you for that as well!
@12:05 I believe you could use the 2 remaining cards in your hand to reposition things before drawing back up to the last 3 cards because you had already scored a card that turn.
The World Wildlife Fund is a great organization. Looks like a fun puzzle and I'm going to try the solo and multi-player game on BGA. UPDATE: Just played solo and won my first game. What a fun and satisfying puzzle. Very relaxing. Thanks for introducing me to this game!
I would not turn in the small card at the beginning and always work to eliminate the large point cards first. Many times you could have done this instead of turning in a 1 pointer. Enjoyed the video. thanks.
That makes a lot of sense! I did get really lucky with being able to complete that 5-point card on my first turn… sometimes that card is one of the last ones I have left and then I get a whole bunch of strikes trying to complete it! Thank you for the comment-I’ll have to try that strategy next time I play! ☺️
That's so amazing that you live in the Caribbean! 🏝 I'm mostly familiar with St. Kitts because it's an island you can visit in Maracaibo! 🤣 Sorry that it takes so long for you to receive board games, though! Did you have to pay a lot for shipping, too?
@@BoardGameDave lol 😂 Board Games can teach people so much and bring them together. St Kitts is a Beautiful paradise of a place to live. And yes shipping is very expensive coupled with exorbitant customs taxes. A USD$40 dollar board game costs about USD$30 to 40 to clear (customs and shipping). So I have to be very very weary of not having games that won't be played on the shelf.
@@BlueTorchWeddings It seems like a paradise for sure! 🏝 Did you grow up there? Or how did you end up living there? (I'm so sorry it's so expensive to get games to you, though! At least it's forcing you to be very picky about which games you buy!)
A solo hater?! 😱 I don't think I knew that about you, Dale! You should give the solo mode a try on BGA and see what you think, though-you might like it! ☺️
@@BoardGameDave I might! I really like the element of saving patterns for future turns (could be interesting in 2p game as well!) The only solo mode I've really been impressed by is Venice.
Ooo, that's good to know! I've played that one twice but I don't own it-but perhaps I could borrow it for a Solo Play Sunday sometime! 🏭 Thank you for the recommendation!
@@BoardGameDave I just recently bought it but I actually haven’t played it yet but it looks like a lot of fun. I just played shifting stones with myself yesterday we also played tracking through history for the first time yesterday and loved it. Two games and one day.
Sorry, I meant to say I played shifting stones with my son, not with myself. But after watching your solo play through it definitely looks like a fun solo game as well.
We own the boardgame Meadow, and I know that has a solo play through. I have never played the solo but my son enjoys it. Also the board game on tour is very easy to play solo. In fact, it’s the exact same rules. I really like the game Roll Player and I heard that has a solo mode, but have not tried the solo yet.
Oh no, you’re right!! 🫣 I even watched the whole playthrough back (I always do) to look for mistakes and that one just slipped through the cracks!! 😰 Thank you both for bringing that to my attention; I’ll have to make a little disclaimer about that somewhere! Keen eye, both of you!

Scoring one per turn is Genius! I can see how it saves strikes down the line, and then you can score and do 3 movements no stress.
@12:05 I believe you could use the 2 remaining cards in your hand to reposition things before drawing back up to the last 3 cards because you had already scored a card that turn.
You're right! I could have done two more actions and then drawn all three cards back up into my hand! Good catch! ☺️

@@BoardGameDave That would be fun! Heading out for a bike ride now but will send you a message on BGA.

Oh, yeah? That’s so awesome! Have you had the chance to play it? Let me know what you think when you get a chance! ☺️

you have a discard in your points
I have a discard in my points? 🤔 Did I accidentally place a card in the scoring pile instead of the discard pile?

@@BoardGameDave I appreciate this video is now one year old: other channels use Klingon subtitles to mark up mistakes. It's quite useful.
