- Hi, happy friday! Here's my Mr. Bungle Cattle Club video. It was so packed at the club that night, and with the cold temperatures outside, the place was humid and steamy. The mirrors on the side of the club had water running down them because of the condensation. Filmed with the old Aiwa CV-80 and Sony ECM-909 mic.

If i had this in 1991 it would've been my favorite album.
Wonderful mayhem! There has never been, and never will be, anything like early Mr Bungle. That Queen/Elton/Motley Crue bit at around 20 minutes is so perfect...
Patton aside, the band is much tamer than when I saw them about a year later. The horn players were constantly having seizures,, Trey was WEIRD, and Trevor was flat out disturbing.
Plus the mayhem. It was great...
Ive watched alot of their shows. Seen two in person. In my humble opinion this show was one of the best if not ever.
I knew I was feelin something watching this. Egg was INSANE. It's like watching a band of Tabla masters, if you just listened to the rhythms of all the instruments. I'm positive that Trevor, Trey, and Mike, and Danny, are Machine Elves. They make music the same way, almost.
Mike Patton!!! the beast of vocal!!!! Thunderball fantastic!!!!
There's primus at the bar!
Seriously?
@@EyesHaveMiles420Maybe. They did tour with em around this time. And Les Claypool(looks like)is on Sax with em😂😂😂
@@EyesHaveMiles420it is them. They toured with em. A few times

Incredible, thanks for posting.. I never got to see Bungle live, this was amazing.
I was into Mr. bungle in 1991, but I was living in edmonton alberta with no hope of even seeing this video. This is Epic, pun intended, thk you. Most underated band in the last 40 years. And now it has scott ian and dave lombardo, its the future of metal in 2024.
Wow i was there, this brings back some memorys, thanks
Were they in masks
Thank you for this! This was my first Bungle bootleg on a tape with an 89 show. This was the better of the two even though it was almost drained of colour being so many generations away from the original. This is amazing. Thank you. ❤️
Before their debut I wonder if they were still selling cassette demos at this show. I was at this gig and remember the welcome back fiasco. One of the hottest nights at the ol` Cattle Club.
They were selling the demo at the dec 89 show. I dont remember seeing it here but it was chaos
Were they in masks
Incredible document you have here.
What a great find! Great video! Felt like you were there. Kudos to the camera person for his filming. In the midst of chaos he was able to keep the camera pretty still throughout, and used the zoom often to focus on Mike during his epic stage act. This was Mike shortly after his FNM "Real Thing" tour and he pretty much had that look (with a bit shorter hair). He was about to enter that "Angel Dust" phase where he pretty much lost the pretty boy, jumping around act (nothing wrong with that at all. It was great!) and was going to go into that intense, gravelly image, which he retains to this day.
Thanks so much!
This is brilliant thank u so much
stubb a dub, in live!!! sheeet, it's awesome
THANKS, MOM!❤🐶
thanks for this, one of the best Mr bungle videos ive seen, cant believe this only has 20k views, seeing Mr nice guy live is always amazing. what a talented band.
Great footage. I really love this ... bungle fan when I was in high school.. 86
This is amazing ❤️
best mr bungle vid ive seen. although i saw them at house of blues new orleans for the california album tour....wish i could find videos of that show too.
I do, too. I was there.
Another completely freak legendary band,@gain MIKE PATTON!!!!
Give Trevor and Trey their props. It's arguable that without them, there would be no Patton. They work as a trinity, but you get my point.
Mr bungle
Slipknot who
Fucking AMAZING! This is like finding gold. Thank you, thank you, THANK you. :)
Yeah! Thank u!
Magnificent camera man !!!
I was there
I bought a bootleg of this VHS at a record store on the Santa Monica Promenade in 1994 and it changed my life.
I saw them the first time a little over a year after this was filmed and man oh man was their sound and stage presence intense. It was one of the few shows i was actually scared of the band. spitting fire, and egging (pun) the crowd into a frenzy - still one of the best live bands i've ever seen. please can we call Travolta - "travolta" ?
We're they in costumes
@@jakesullivan5998 they all had gas station attendant jumpsuits and masks. trevor had pinhead, trey had madonna, and patton had the same zippered mask that was in travolta video. Bar Mckinnon has a skull mask on and was the one who spit fire over the audience.
@@jakesullivan5998 ruclips.net/video/-jkw0eLLCOs/видео.html this show was the closest footage to the show i saw. It was april 16, 1992 after the gold rush, tphoenix arizona. grotus opened up.

It’s rare to see Mike Patton singing without a mask
Why? XD

haha so good man
Oh damn! Les Claypool on saxophone 😂😂
My electric guitar is just like Trey Spruance one here! It sounds awesome...I will learn some Mr Bungle songs it's the most versatile guitar I've ever played with
makes sense why Trey would choose it then! a versatile guitar for a versatile musician!
Crazy how theo lengyel has now been arrested due to murder!
wow
crispin glover
Man, there sure is a lot of traffic on that stage! Is it on the way to the bathroom?

Is there any way you can please upload this to Google Docs, Mediafire or pCloud? YT is only allowing me to DL it in 320p. I have a lot of old Mr Bungle/Patton/Spruance related master tapes of audio and video to trade. Please send me a DM. I would really like to get a copy of this but not in 320p. Thanks so much, and I hope to hear from you soon.
platypus !
handsome devil
Smallest stage in History and soooo what !!!!
One of the lucky few to be at some of these epic shows. San Francisco in the 1990s was incredible for music. Primus, Bungle, & (yeah) the Dead in the early 90s - by the end it was still Bungle, but California Bungle and JZ’s COBRA and a whole slew of local music coming out of every cockroach hole and black tar den in the mission and beyond. I still remember these two punk rock leopard spotted hair dye tower records employees I went to hi school with argued with me about how awful Bungle was, because you see they were pure punk rock tards that had a belief that there was no better music than RKL ... They also hated (the) Melvins, which is ok but hating those two bands together makes it somewhat personal. All those people I went to high school with are dead. My year book is an obituary... etc.
Intentional Misrepresentation wow talk about music snob posturing, something of which I know I am myself guilty of, I know it kind of goes hand-in-hand with being a music obsessive but it sounds like there was a sense of like drawing a line or something that hating those bands was something these people felt was something they seriously needed to make a point of or something... I am a huge Bungle fan through and through and and can't imagine how awesome that scene must have been like but I guess this stuff is so visceral and celebrates 'the weird' that people felt like it was an affront to them or something.... (* Also allow me to take a ceremonial obligative moment to pray for a reunion!)
What mask is he wearing for travolta
Oh hey, I was at this. It was swell.
were you? good story, lol. tell us about it!

MP does Tom Jones SO much better than Tom Jones! His versatility is mind numbingly mind numbing!
I did sound for this one too, like all of their shows back then. My board mix tape sounds better... :-)
can you... can you share???
Aidan Breen I can only share with their permission. I still don't know how to reach them anymore or if they are even interested. It's their intellectual property legally speaking and as a professional sound engineer, if I gave that up to the public, I would "never work this town again" as they say in Tinsel Town. Sorry, watch for it on their site maybe? Just in case they somehow reach out to me to get them, and then edit the vids to replace the sound tracks on the vids.
You do realize Bungle and FNM are 2 of the biggest bootlegged bands out there, right? They don't care what the fans do with their live material on YT as evidence by all the fan videos. It spreads their awareness like bootleg tapes in the early 80's. Thousands of people have spliced together MB & FNM videos with soundboard recordings on here since 2006. Help us spread some more!
Otherwise don't wave shit in our face we can't have, it just makes you come off as a liar and blowhard.

So sarcastic ...
so pissed there's no bands doing gigs on this level atm (if i'm missing out on something, please fill me in!)
+X4rrr Agree. People say theres good rock out there you gotta just find it but most of it is people that are stale and serious looking on stage without any charisma.
Not in rock or metal that I know of
Hey! Check the album "Eargasm" by Sykotik Sinfoney. Thank me later for the Bungle vibes lol
Check out Ghoul, goofy, fun, theatrical. They're a death-thrash band but they're great live.
@@Chudchanning cheers man. That's some good shit. Reminds me of this band my German mates (Modern Pets) toured with called Attack of the Mad Axeman, like ecogrind fronted by a giant turtle and a drummer dressed as a snail

WTF is it with shows in the early 1990's and asking everyone to back up. I present Pearl Jam's Drop in the Park as evidence.
Slipknot when they were in the circus
Slipknot when they joined green jello
Who was that tall, skinny guy that kept walking across the stage with no shirt on? He was annoying. I wonder if he was with the band or with the club. Either way, it seemed like he was trying to act very nonchalant, as if he was just a guy doing his job, while walking around shirtless on the stage during Bungle's set. He had this facial expression as if he was some old jaded, beleaguered rock club dude who was so "over it"; and of course, he wasn't trying to insert himself into the event and grab some vicarious attention for himself while doing so.
