Sometimes I wonder about these bands who play the same songs for years and years and years and how they can keep the fun going on. And then I realise I've been listening to them for twenty years. A good song is a good song is a good song. Great to see them opening with good old bangers. I'll never stop loving this band.
That's the beauty of punk rock in general... (I know this is gonna come off as me being overly dramatic/romantic, and I hate myself for doing it, but I have to agree with what I heard Mike say recently in an interview somewhere) It is hands down the greatest kind of music! Everything from old school punk to hardcore, quirky pop punk to more serious power pop, melodic hardcore to ...sigh, "emo", etc. etc. usually the bands are doing it from a place of needing/wanting to express themselves, and not because of contractual obligations. Apparently some bands didn't really know how to play, but I just hear great songs that rarely age poorly. It obviously struck a chord with us because we're all still here, and I can't think of a single band I stopped listening to because I "grew out of it", but I'm also not blindly following bands because of their past work, genre, or record label. Let's say a certain band, that shall remain nameless, were really good at one point but fell apart. Well, I'd just listen to everything from "hate your friends" through "lovey", and ignore the rest (see, you can respectfully shit all over a band, and nobody gets hurt👍). But seriously, out of all the bands I love that are still around, very few of their newer albums are good (meaning at least half the songs on the album are decent), and while it's not realistic to expect Jimmy eat world to crank out Bleed American 2 at 60 years old, a slightly watered down clarity 2 isn't unreasonable (and I'll buy that album if it has 30-40% good songs), but unfortunately we're not getting that kind of quality anymore, so I'm stuck searching for old stuff I missed the first time around in the 80s and 90s, and praying all the bands will start releasing songs that never made the album for some crazy reason *cough- Jets to Brazil "afterhour perfection -cough*, or even demos for all the songs that are on the album (I'd kill to hear demos for anything from that time, but the jawbreaker, jets to brazil demos that have popped up over the last few years were just incredible). Ok, I think I've gone on long enough, I apologize for having diarrhea of the keyboard again.

@@myblutuscani And nothing screams poser like somebody not wearing a mask only because he is so edgy and anti-authoritarian. Wearing a mask is a simple and effective way of reducing infections which during a pandemic is the reasonable thing to do. Punk rock is thinking for yourself and looking out for each other.
@@PickleBread355 happened to me two times already, the latest one yesterday. Use an ear stick but remove some of the cotton first, so it would fit in the jack hole without damaging.
@@AlexanderJAllen It helps the overall sound of the music for sure, but I doubt they have autotune on the fly? I specifically meant it is difficult to sing harmonies over very loud music as it's difficult to hear exactly what's going on (compared to acoustic instruments, for example).
@@meadish No, they're definitely diligent singers, no question. They're a great example of how hard work pays off, practice makes perfect, etc. I was just listening to Punk in Drublic and then switched to Pump Up the Valium (albums) and WOW, what a difference in musicianship, especially the singing. (I do bet they have in-ear monitors, though, and THEY really help you hear your voice over the loudness).
I feel like I’m seeing bros at a house party who I haven’t seen in so long. These dudes have been my best friends for I think around 27 years since I learned about them in boy scouts.
Been a fan since 96 dont think many days have passed without me listening to at least one song. Keeping punk alive whilst theres so much death. Keep it up boys (old men) love you to the grave.
I was introduced to NOFX in 1994 which was my senior year in HS by a friend of mine. Drunk in Public was the album and to this day I keep listening to it.
My favorite part was between 26:00 and 26:30 when Melvin had a huge smile on his face while listening to the voice of Fat Mike. I think he was excited, first because it was a good performance, but mostly he was truly happy for his old friend who could sing like 30 years ago. This is pure friendship. Damn I miss my friends, I'm going to call them right now, see ya!
Literally the scenario at my brother's wedding. His new father-in-law thought himself the drummer in a shitty punk band. It was much less cool then this.
After all these years playing in packed venues, halls, and arenas, its nice that COVID has them playing backyard parties again where all good punk bands started.
hell yeah. him and Adam Carson of afi. i mean, the dude just picked up a set up sticks and started recording some amazing punk tracks. natural talent is easy to spot compared to people who "learned to play". and then there are people who are self taught, but mature into growing and learning more, which, really has helped me out. especially learning to play songs by bands that constantly evolve, it has definitely helped me change how i write music.
I remember mid 90s seeing them live for the first time on their Heavy Petting Zoo tour. They were literally almost 2 hours late. Everyone in the crowd was frustrated hot and smelly. But Mike came out and started busting jokes after he said sorry for being late and rocked the place.
Saw RKL...No FX..In backyards..No youtube. Just beer..lsd..drugs..or soberness..And most importantly kids who didnt belong..Called family back then..Mike, all the best on the sober train. Thank you for all you've done. Cheers.
this reminds me of going to a see a friend's band in their parents back yard in the early 90's better sound do to the a/v pros but yep I am back in high school. thanks, guys. needed this more than I knew.
It's kinda insane how close this sounds to the record. And El Jefe is such a super-talented dude. As much as I love NOFX, I almost feel bad that he didn't do something bigger with his life than this band.
Same here. When I was like 15 in 1995, a friend of mine turned me on to it. I had never even heard of the band before, so it kinda blew me away. Then I ended up turning it on to like 4 or 5 other friends of mine. Several of them ended up loving NOFX more than me because of that album. So yea, Punk In Drublic had quite an effect on so many people. Lol, we had this little thing we did...when we were all hanging out and if there was a lull in the conversation, one of us out of nowhere would yell "FRIDAY NIGHT, WE'LL!.."..then the rest of we would continue in unison: "..BE DRINKING MANISCHEWITZ..." It was more fun and funnier than it sounds, you had to be there, lol.
Yep, punk in drublic plus "smash" by Offspring (not cool anymore, gone mainstream) got me into punkrock. Was an easy decision because true and qualitatively good rap vanished sooooo fast. 😳 And now? Nowadays I am into propain as well as into Bob Marley and other stuff which is completely different like NOFX. High five to great music. 🤙
Trump, NOFX, Obama and the entire federal government can eat the business end of a loaded, wracked, safety-off 12 gauge shotgun. Those who disagree follow suite.

You are making an assumption without asking based on a video of a band that is getting shit on by everyone in a time when everyone is wrong. Sorry for that long speech, when I really meant fuck off!
Been a HUGE NOFX fan since 95. Saw them live in 97. ❤🤘
My favourite album ever since I was 15 (27 years ago). That was so cool.
Even better than punk in drublic?

That's a little too much, my friend 🤣🤣
Settle down
Relax
Tru dat.
Best guitarist in punk rock.
they performed Straight Edge so perfectly
Thanks for the reupload. I’m so happy that they decided to play this album and no other!
I'm 41 and this guys are incredible, they're the best American Punk Band of all the time.
Sounds for another weekend!

The band on the t- shirt that Fat Mike is wearing would blow NOFX away into the next planet. So definitely, not the best American punk band.
my left ear enjoyed this
Seriously. Melvin is basically muted, other than the few intros he plays on.
Lucky. My phone got wet today and now says i have a headphone plugged in.
Sure me too...
@@PickleBread355 happened to me two times already, the latest one yesterday. Use an ear stick but remove some of the cotton first, so it would fit in the jack hole without damaging.
I got socked in the left ear and now it rattles when it's loud
Wow. If you close your eyes, they sound just like they did almost 30 years ago. So good and so happy I found this.
I love that Mike still plays that Danelectro
The backing vocals on stickin my eye are so perfectly executed
Yeah that was beautiful!!
@@DARKMETL The backing vocals are perfect all the way
As always!
The audio of this set is mixed andpitch corrected...
@@texasatan The irony of a band called "No-FX" using autotune lol
Not many bands nail harmonies that well live with distorted instruments. It really isn't easy.
World class gear helps
@@AlexanderJAllen or just the right combo. jefe's tele and melvins lp and their amp settings + play styles mesh perfectly
For another weekend!

One of my Favorite shows of 2020....and still rocking 2021... Thank you guys!
I'm loving this. Nofx was there for me during the 90's, they were there for me in Chicoutimi and now they're there for during Covid.
Amen
you are missing a "me"
This is making me feel more happiness than I’ve felt in months. Fuck yeah NOFX.

Crazy how time fly's eh? Im the same. At leaat a few tunes a day. Stay safe bro!! Peace
Literally speaking, we're at an all time low regarding death
I was introduced to NOFX in 1994 which was my senior year in HS by a friend of mine. Drunk in Public was the album and to this day I keep listening to it.
It's actually Punk in Drublic
This should be a weekly thing.
Ty Backs Or at least do the next 3 albums
Plasticinema agreed. I’d love to see a live backyard so long full album
My favorite part was between 26:00 and 26:30 when Melvin had a huge smile on his face while listening to the voice of Fat Mike. I think he was excited, first because it was a good performance, but mostly he was truly happy for his old friend who could sing like 30 years ago. This is pure friendship. Damn I miss my friends, I'm going to call them right now, see ya!
it's cos he couldn't believe Mike remembered the words :) the guy with the words had the wrong song lol
When your dad and his old skate buddies get up to play a song at your BBQ
Your dad is fat mike?
Literally the scenario at my brother's wedding. His new father-in-law thought himself the drummer in a shitty punk band. It was much less cool then this.
This is painfully accurate. I'm dad lol
@@SilverBulletCinemas sounds like an SNL skit..........mmmmhmmmmm

Dude, Eric Melvin looks like he is having a blast. I think he's happy that Mike is singing so well. Lol.
back in 90's i used to jam with nofx song! ahhh... tq for sharing!!!!
After all these years playing in packed venues, halls, and arenas, its nice that COVID has them playing backyard parties again where all good punk bands started.
True that. Too bad their not next door to my back yard.
Good for them... but there´s plenty of us trying to get to know and it´s not easy if you don´t have gigs :/
The Pistols played no backyards
Punks not dead.
Shitty masks, the band is awesome but apparently alot of their fans are sheep
They sound better in the backyard than a lot of bands sound in venues.
They sound better in their backyard than they do in venues
I heard they suck live
Weak
True statement of fact.
And considering these guys are every bit of 50 years old not to mention the songs are like 40 years old, NOFX sounds absolutely great
Still rocking this show in 2021!!!! Great vibes ...great show...miss the live times but this will do for now.
From a 46 year old punk rocker and retired skater, thank for making my night!
Skaters dont retire
Holy fuck! NOFX in 2020 sounds way too perfect!!! This is definitely the soundtrack to this year.
Nofx are the Ric flair of punk. They've forgotten more punk than we will ever know
Ric Flair is punk.
Smelly is a proper dedicated drummer too, underrated..
As a drummer, I really wish people recognized Smelly more
hell yeah. him and Adam Carson of afi. i mean, the dude just picked up a set up sticks and started recording some amazing punk tracks. natural talent is easy to spot compared to people who "learned to play". and then there are people who are self taught, but mature into growing and learning more, which, really has helped me out. especially learning to play songs by bands that constantly evolve, it has definitely helped me change how i write music.
Dj quick in the audience!!! I feel like we entered my parallel universe
Who the hell would give this a thumbs down! Remember late 90’s warped tour seeing these guys. They still f’ing rock!
I remember mid 90s seeing them live for the first time on their Heavy Petting Zoo tour. They were literally almost 2 hours late. Everyone in the crowd was frustrated hot and smelly. But Mike came out and started busting jokes after he said sorry for being late and rocked the place.
Only NOFX can take an hour to play a thirty minute album.
You take an hour to play a thirty minute album, mate, if anyone does...
@@itsMrNoble Bro, I'm pretty sure that comment is meant as an endearment. It's why we love NOFX!
Yes, it's just funny how much they talk on purpose in between songs.
Haven't seen D4 live eh?
@@dancinginclownshoes nope
Saw RKL...No FX..In backyards..No youtube. Just beer..lsd..drugs..or soberness..And most importantly kids who didnt belong..Called family back then..Mike, all the best on the sober train. Thank you for all you've done. Cheers.
This is still one of the best punk rock records ever. For me.
Such a perfect album.
I listened to this album so much my old boss ended up asking who it was and listening to it.
Maximum Rocknroll is better.
Sounds for another weekend!

Agreed. 💯… an album where the skip button is obsolete.
“Tom Delonge is not on this planet anymore” lol
Absolutly true :v
🤣
i thought i was going to be the only one thinking of him

this reminds me of going to a see a friend's band in their parents back yard in the early 90's better sound do to the a/v pros but yep I am back in high school. thanks, guys. needed this more than I knew.
forgot to add they still suck live
@@hvipomgb3969 Seen them multiple times. Depending on how drunk Mike is, they'll suck live. But other times, they were tight, fast, and awesome.
Feel so good.... So Much.... Hi, From Sumba Island - Indonesia
The way Melvin looks over at Mike and smiles mid-song when he's doing a good job is a whole vibe
Hope you enjoy!

I don’t know why this popped up but thank you universe!
They still sounding amazing.
Legitimately my favorite video on RUclips. Punk doesn't exist like this anymore. Glad to see them playing one of their best albums too
I wish playing whole albums live would catch on
The decline was awesome live
Ribbed "live in a dive" is great. You remember that awesome Lagwagon "live in a dive"? Tim hick
consistency people! NOFX FOR LIFE
I was brought to the 90s in high school bieng a kid. Thanks for the memories guyz!!!
I love that their voices haven't changed after all these years!
It's kinda insane how close this sounds to the record. And El Jefe is such a super-talented dude. As much as I love NOFX, I almost feel bad that he didn't do something bigger with his life than this band.
It must be extremely difficult balancing time between performances and being the mayor of Whoville.
Totally loled😅😅
Mayor Augustus Maywho doesn't have green hair.
Punk in Drublic was the album of my youth, much love NOFX.
Lol, we had this little thing we did...when we were all hanging out and if there was a lull in the conversation, one of us out of nowhere would yell "FRIDAY NIGHT, WE'LL!.."..then the rest of we would continue in unison: "..BE DRINKING MANISCHEWITZ..."
It was more fun and funnier than it sounds, you had to be there, lol.
@@adrianfiabane5608 I freaking LOVE Pro-Pain
@@NS1. 🥰 nice! High five 🖐️
Nofx for president! 2020.. they're like a fine wine.. they get better with age! I F'N LOVE NOFX
