I always liked Longview, but it was never really even in my Green Day top 20. But when it kicks in around the 10min mark, you can see Billie feeling the train pulling out of the indie station and into the big time. By the next Spring, they done blown up the East Coast. It was awesome. Really apprec this one, and happy to say I put Dookie on the shelf when it came out at a Musicland location in Feb 94!

This can't be from November 1994 because Lollapalooza ended in September that year. This is most likely from either August 27th or 28th when Lollapalooza was in San Francisco.

☝🏽 Was in an “alt.country” band in the early 2000’s and played many shows with Slobberbone, and this for me is the musical equivalent of a well past his prime high school jock watching old video tape of “the big game.” The very first time I saw these guys was 1998 at Club Congress in Tucson, and I recall Brent , at the end of the show , announcing the members of the band and then introducing himself as “ Stuart Ransom Miller, a serial lady killer” ( a little dig at the Old 97s.) Some of my best memories are of watching this band play to too small crowds, getting lit and feeling like the world could end at any moment and I would be just fine with that because how in the hell could anything too this? I moved Austin briefly in 2002 and ran in to Brent at a bar in Georgetown . We talked for a good streak and that man can tell a story.
