  • Hello guys! Here is a practical guide on how to do all the work for these engines. It will do for 1.9 MultiJet, 2.4 MultiJet and is also very similar to other engines. With this level of workmanship I would not recommend anything less than professional cleaning and conversion or cancellation at a machine shop. This labor should also be used to replace the timing kit, access the block freeze plugs or caps, renew or repair the high pressure pump and take care of the EGR system. All the videos you will need for the jobs mentioned are here a little further down in this description.

    I can't believe someone cut the edge off the manifold! It must have been more trouble than removing the fuel pump and bracket in the end. Thanks for your videos as always

      Hello. For the 8v there are no swirl flaps. But the removal of the manifold is similar

  • @5Dale65
    @5Dale65 5 месяцев назад +5

    In JTD 8V in Stilo you also cannot remove the manifold without taking out the bracket for the pump. And the bracket also holds the alternator and a few other things. I personally decided to take out the studs from the head and this way I was able to pull the manifold out, without the need to remove that bracket. It wasn't easy because a few of them were stuck. I had to weld nuts on the ends to make them brake loose. And when I was assembling it together I put in new studs that you could screw in and out with a torx bit. This way I will have much easier job in the future, should I ever need to take the manifold out again (I'm running the egr with the restrictor plate but sooner or later it will carbon up then manifold again I suppose). Cheers mate

    Remove the studs from the metal bracket.Die grind a tiny piece of metal down.Its from casting.Manifold slides out.On gm engines in vauxhalls it doesn't have the same casting much easier

    Great videos on the GT! I have an issue I cant seem to find happening on the alfa forums, Recently my 19 JTD gt started losing power at los rpm, did all filters and oil change, and now the car goes well except on first gear, if im on an incline, starting stand still, the moment that the clutch grabs completly the car starts losing momentum until it stalls. I have no lights showing on the dashboard. Does this sound as something you have delt with before?

      Hello. Yes, I've seen that a bunch of times.
      It's not always the same issue, but normally it's the egr valve. Also try to do a diagnosis.

    So much hassle with the diesels. Is it realy worth the fuel savings? What you save on fuel you spend on jobs like these.

    • @alfaromeonoproblem

      For the shear power yes, it's worth it. The fuel saving too

    • @DashCamSerbia
      @DashCamSerbia 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@alfaromeonoproblem Yeah, but the power comes from the turbo, and there are turbo petrol engines too. Not in this models and much rarer, but still.
      Personaly, I would rather have a V6 non-turbo petrol than any diesel.

      @DashCamSerbia price of gasoline here is too expensive. 2 euros a litre now

    • @DashCamSerbia
      @DashCamSerbia 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@alfaromeonoproblem In Serbia, diesel is now more expensive than petrol. It is like this for a while now. Maybe two years even. 1.75 euros for regular diesel and 1.57 for regular petrol. But I only use premium 100 RON petrol, which is 1.74 per litre this week.

    • @MevilJuice
      @MevilJuice 5 месяцев назад +2

      It also depends on country taxes. In Romania for example, if the engine is larger than 2 liters, the annual tax for owning a car goes up like crazy. To be precise, for 2 liter car we pay around 40 euros, for 2.5 liter is 200 euros, and for 3.0 liter goes to 530 euros. We rarely see V6's in here, or if we see them, either they are in hybrid cars (because they have a tax deduction), rich guys, or cars registered in Bulgaria.
      I would also want a inline 6 big BMW, or V6 Nissan 350z, but the taxes pushed me for 2.0 liter diesel engine :D
