There is going to be a part 2 to this this evening I’ll be uploading i have won a car and I am down here now collecting it so look out for that next video coming later on this evening hope your all enjoying the weather 🥵
Reason why they go for more is the Europeans are buying them up, take them back to Eastern Europe to repair for peanuts and bring back to uk to sell, or they buy cat B cars and export then repair the badly damaged car, reregister in the eu country then bring them back to the uk and apply for new logbook registration, or they buy and convert to left hand drive, our cars are the cheapest in the whole of the EU for salvage, avoid copart, buy from HBC auctions
The problem is everybody wants to keep up with the Jones next door and most cars here are chopped in every 3 years so there’s too many thus they have to get rid and drop the prices, when there smashed up there worth even less, unlike the LHD market there’s many eu countries for the cars to sell to so prices are strong
Hi Rob. can a repaired cat N be insured in the normal manner without declaring to the insurance company that the car has been declared (on the tax book) an uneconomic repair.
Cat n for me if selling on,that marked log book scares people ,if it’s just a cheapie to smoke round cat s all day long, keep it up rob love these videos
Hi, in this video you said you done a DVLA check and the car had a registered keeper, what dvla check is this please, would be really good to know so I know if the cars have registered keepers or not.
Crazy money, I can only think they have breakers in the same colour so quick easy free fix but still, no a lot of profit when you knock the 25% salvage price off the retail.
Hi Rob. Could you tell me how did you do dvla check to see if it has got a registered keeper? Do you phone them direct or you can do it online? I have purchased one before and had called them to find out. Thanks for reply in advance mate
I’ve just rang dvla as I have a fiesta with An owner still on the car and have no logbook Apparently a new thing has come out today if you pay £25 over the phone give them your details you can tax the car there and then on the phone It’s to stop people waiting for 6 weeks for the logbook and then tax it I think this a fantastic idea bit literally just found out
Radoslaw Rachwal they didn’t say about that but main thing is it’s taxed I would think it would come back quicker because your details would be on there database But they would still need to inform owner on old v5 The car I brought was a section 165 police took it off road and sold at auction
can you not get buyer to fill a v62 in when buying car and they can tax and apply for v5 at same time instead if putting another owner on the car.also changing keeper online is faster with a v5.new v5 back usually in 5 days
Hi how do you do a check on the car to find out if it has a registered keeper or not and also what’s the procedure do they just send you the full logbook ?
11 reg 500 twinair on 95k CAPS clean at £1825? and that's on an unrecorded straight car bought at auction from BCA/Manheim, and that would retail at £2995? Although your Fiesta's are a bargain in comparison. Even with the limited price ceiling due to the 'write off'
You have a keen eye to bid blind on some of these unseen I just don't like the fees So I stick with spares or repairs off gumtree etc and get jiggy with the spanners and mechanical turn them around
ive got a fiesta cat s..all because theres a dent in quarter panel.i do think the cat n and s is better as before cat c and d was there to stop modern cars being cloned but most badly damaged cars were moden and cat c were older cars with minor damage.i buy from whitburn copart but agree prices are crazy at times.i put a non recored astra gtc in for sale no damage only autobox sensir fault yet an auto same car year etc and auto damaged cat n went for more
If you were to film your vids like I do you could still use your iPhone . All I use is a plank of wood a table and a heavy weight then put the phone on the end lens facing down . Works a treat stable too
Do you use any other auction sites, I've recently bought couple of cars from copart which turned out to be sheds, one was listed as cat n,turned out to be cat s, and had £700 worth of extra damage not shown in pictures, copart were no help as usual
I sort of prefer cat s as they are cheaper to buy and usually are not structurally damaged. Slightly more difficult to sell once repaired though. I sell mine for more than you though.
@@sruk Hi mate apparently if you go online to check a car tax status, at the bottom of the information page that comes up, after the vehicle details it will say "You may be able to tax this vehicle at a Post Office Branch that deals with vehicle tax without the V5C registration certificate." which I've been told indicates that the car is in the trade.
how does the logbooks work? do you have to apply for them in your name or do you apply for them in your businesses name and if it says on the lot that a v5 is on file does that mean you'll receive it faster thanks.
Tayyeb Hussain I always apply for the logbooks in my business name as they are being sold tried through my business if it says that the V5 is on file that means you will receive the V5 when you collect the car that means I have the V5 with it I hope this helps regards Rob
Dowd khan just print a v62 form online, complete the car detail and send to DVLA(address on back of the form). Note if it is cat N, u send £25 postal order to DVLA but cat S is free
Dowd khan no should be real quick give Dvla a call and ask if it has a keeper on file if it don’t it will take about ten days if your keeping it or taxing it you can fill out a v62 and tax it at the post office 👍
Adolf Galand it’s call scame mor money time, auction time ends, but they add extra time to get you punters to keep bidding, it’s not like ebay, you don’t win when auction was supposed to end, you win when no one bids against you on bonus time.
Great informative video and nice to see that you stick to your guns regarding what you are prepared to send on the purchase no matter how good the vehicle may look. Have you ever thought of using an app to record whats on your screen rather than haveing to hold your camera over the screen? I have put a link to OBS Studio (which is the one I use for recording gaming and such), It's free and very easy to use obsproject.com/ .
Guessing your from Medway Towns? I’m originally from Chatham/ Walderslade so been great watching your vids as reminds me of home. I currently live in Adelaide in Oz. Keep up the good work 😀

HBC better than coparts?
HBC are 100% insurance salvage, copart can be any old crap
@@InstaltechCarAudio thank you 👍
In Portugal for instance cars are way more expensive than the UK so they probably buy from salvage to sell over there.
The problem is everybody wants to keep up with the Jones next door and most cars here are chopped in every 3 years so there’s too many thus they have to get rid and drop the prices, when there smashed up there worth even less, unlike the LHD market there’s many eu countries for the cars to sell to so prices are strong
