That was a new Audi model, the Audi QE2!!!
😂 - Deserved more likes.
lol
Very sharp 🤣🤣
Not many RUclips channels that use CoPart that don’t have similar issues, I would guess CoPart have so much volume they find it difficult to handle the cars correctly, shame
Bmw s line
Copart really need to up their game! Even non selective honest pictures would be a good start.
Trouble is, they seem to have a monopoly now... and we all know what happens when companies become a monopoly.
They are gangsters and a lot of the people they employ are thieves.
Boys, gravel rash yes, but also the new motorway concrete central crash barriers can do similar to that if the cops did a pinch manoeuvre to stop them…
Get chris to purchase a telehandler be a god send for you guys ,,, I can never understand why they don’t fix some thick rubber on the forks ,would stop lots of unnecessary damage to the underside,,, keep up the good work 👍
proud of you rob, the more people complain, the worse their public image, the quicker they will start behaving in an honest manner - we hope...
keep it up chaps
I love how your optimism paves the way. You two are a firm fixture in my daily life. 😊
Rob is a lovely guy but when he takes a position I wouldn’t argue with him! 😁
Totally enjoyed this one looking forward to following it through. Copart need to set a couple of site staff rules, do not cut air bags, take photos of any warning notices. They should put the car on provisional until the purchaser has passed and accepted it. Better still, Re introduce pre auction inspections for customers that have history of more than 5 purchase’s
Copart really need to lift their game. They need to put 4k pictures of all panels and highlight any damage. Copart is like a lottery/gamble at the moment. Run and drive listings that have no clutch and listed on a sticker “non runner” on collection.
Just enjoyed this update as always. Rob - you may or may not know and not wanting to tell my granny how to suck eggs the locking wheel nut's location may be as follows. Lift the tailgate and pull the left hand rear side panel cover off. Underneath the yellow hazard waistcoat you may find a locking wheel nut staring at you. Sorry if you know all that but thought it is worth a mention. Great videos and your both a pleasure to watch. Best regards to you and Chris.
Rob, for all it’s faults it’s a very nice car. The X1 used to be built on the new Mini frame and parts, but this model looks much bigger. Still a good catch!
I think it's not dust from forensics but dust from all the airbags deploying
I think you are right about the BMW being stolen and I hope they got the 'toe rags'. The car might need a full respray with all the little scratches and dents but that is a way off yet. It does look like a nice car beyond the damage though. Well done for cracking on and removing the airbags and Seat belts Rob they will have them fixed and back to you in no time. I think you will do alright out of it with regards to profit despite some parts being expensive. Thank you Rob and Chris for bringing us another video from SRUK. 👍👍
The reason we cut airbags is they are sometimes still filled with air but are needed to be tucked away so the interior can be imaged , we take interior pictures from side, nearside, you don't just want a picture of airbag hanging , they won't move while inflated
Rob if we can see them labels on your camera then they would show perfectly on a photograph. Copart obviously have an obligation to the insurance companies to get as much as they can for the salvage and in return they get all the salvage cars to sell at an extortionate buyers fee. Then the insurance companies can charge an extra fee to insure a categorised vehicle. It’s all a massive stitch up. The very least they can do is give an accurate description and decent pics. The jobs hard enough.
That Audi's been a submarine too long....
😂
😝😂👌👍
Comedy gold
Went to buy a horse and came back with a donkey...
Good evening Rob and Chris, another very interesting video. Copart are not doing themselves any favours with their working practices. Looking forward to seeing how this all ends up. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
It’s nice that BMW is becoming more user/repair friendly again had a 1970s 2002 yrs ago easier to repair than any ford of that time period. Such a nice car Gentlemen can’t wait to hear it roar to life. It won’t be long
The forensic dust is in fact aluminium powder.
Don’t rub it with a dry cloth, warm soapy water and a soft cloth will clear it.
Yes forensic fingerprint dust 👍
From the airbag deployment yes
Yes airbag dust sticking to oily finger prints
@@timbo19751975 no it’s not airbag dust
I love the technical term for the wheel’s state. That wheel is absolutely knackered. No better description
Cracking content with these premium motors, it’s what we all want 👌
Them wheels are awful for such a high priced car it looks like BMW have bought them from Halfords 😂
Totally agree. Let it down big style, like so many designs nowadays.
@@andymurdoch1346 looks like something you'd see on a fiesta ecoboooooost with a pop and bang map flying round Mcdonalds carpark
They're actually missing the plastic trims that go over them. Similar to how Tesla do their alloys on the base spec cars
@@craighorton6387 Pop and bang map, brilliant 🙂
love Rob's passion, pleas don't fret about a wee bit of negativity Rob, it must be infuriating, as a team mate Chris always brings it round with a few well grounded comments.
This Beemer is going to be a lovely car, I'm looking forward to watching you guys fixing it up!
What is now Copart used to be USA Salvage when I lived in Thanet. USA were well known for being iffy, auctioning all kinds of broken crap. Nice to hear they refunded you without question.
I always used to go to BCA in Paddock Wood, a much better, honest out fit. I bought 44 cars in 2 years from BCA, only 2 were a problem, both Nissan Bluebirds and had been clocked (taxis), I proved it, they didn't question it, refunded me on both vehicles. I kind of miss those days.
Just wanted to say thanks guys, bought a battery from Tayna yesterday, your SR code still works 👍 £149 for a bosch instead of £330 for the same battery from euro parts
Hi Which code did you use please.
@@Orkneyudh8hggbvhh hi, SRUKFIVE
Completely off-topic, but a bit of advice from a retired sound engineer... upside-down is better for a body-worn microphone! You don't get the marked variation in level as you move your head... watch the telly, and you'll see a lot of presenters have their tieclip mics upside down!!
Last car I bought was listed as burn damage. To be fair they had a photograph showing water in one floor area, but when it arrived they had written 'flood damage' on the windscreen. This wasn't in the photos of course. The carpet and underlay was stinking. Also the bonnet was damaged which wasn't in the photos. Just got a quote of £550 to repair it.
That part when Rob said let's get on the phone my Hart sang for him glad it worked out tho lads great content as usual and so much information with the key and all the prices pucka
Hi Rob and Chris, Audi was obviously mis advertised, what a shame there was added roof damage to the BMW, and the airbags cut out..!! Bit of a challenge but you guy's will sort. .looking forward to watching this one. Alex.
Wow nice model and look forward to seeing this fixed
Copart are some shifty dudes by the sounds of it Rob blimey ! Glad you put your foot down with them fairs fair ! I have a 2.0L X drive version new x1 it’s a really nice little car that’ll be nice when you’ve done it 👍
Rob, my second cousin is the Jaguar NZ, CFO.😊
I feel your pain, you could write a book on recovering late model cars from Copart.😮
So glad your treated well by BMW staff😂
Wish you & Chris well on giving this car its deserved second chance at life ❤
Curtain airbag drivers side and steering wheel bag cut out by soco for any DNA.. to maybe prove who was in drivers seat at the time of crash..... another great video lads
Nice car that, I like the big grill front end. Will imagine a 2wd late bmw suv will be a very easy sell. Looking forward to the finished job. Great video as ever chaps. Thankyou👍
Hello Rob and Chris, that first car was a bit too much damage as it was very flooded.this BMW is looking a nice car and the mileage is very low.great progress so far.
Brew and a salvage rebuilds video, perfect for the pre dinner cooking time of day. Enjoy the rest of your week lads
Thats somebody's dream car, lovely motor lads, another great recycling job by Rob and Chris ❤❤🇮🇪🇮🇪
With curtain airbags not sure what company you use,but normally those companies can make a new airbag if it was completely cut so is not totally lost if is only have cut.
Hello both. How so disappointing for you to find out how the first car was a flood recovery. The work you have done already to the BMW is great.best wishes from Lincolnshire
Hello you two.
Its a long time since I purchased a write off myself, usually bought from Simpsons auto salvage near Full Sutton prison, and at least you could walk round the aircraft hanger at your own pace and assess the damage.
Maybe you both need to stop buying from this company and find another supplier?
Have you complained about the crazy airbag damage being done just so they can boost the sale price, and the American style auction.
Keep up the good work that you two carry out and I wish you both all the best.
Copart York is near full sutton prison, probably took over Simpsons auto salvage?
Just to tell you BMW changed their bolt pattern a few years ago, it use to be 5x120 now it’s 5x112, if you ever need to use another wheel on these new bmws try an audi or Mercedes wheel they have 5x112. Have a good one guys
Just shows you the money in salvage vehicles you wonder wot actual damage was done after accident damage i must admit i have the fear when i see the cars getting forked on/off great team work rob works like a ferret inside the interior chris is just a wizard
As always a massive 👍 from me, best on RUclips guys.
The big problem is as buying shifted to online, using that company's information, you are not inspecting the vehicles in person so can truly evaluate them.
Loving your hands on approach giving great insight on how to fix these newer BMW cars. Great to see a removable dash top, about time BMW, other car manufacturers note! Really had a hard time this vehicle, insurance on a hair trigger to write it off. It will be a lovely motor once you guys have worked your magic on it. 👍🇬🇧😎
Think the auction people were great taking the car back, you were on your toes there Rob, think you will be ok with the x1; well done to you both
Copart had to take it back, this was missold, if they could have got away with it they would have
I think that roof damage is from it being on its side, not from a transporter. It probably got held upright by a tree or something
What a shame about that Audi Rob 😢 But water damage must be an absolute nightmare 😮 So a good call sending it back Rob 👍🏻 That Beamer is a big mess but nothing to worry about when you guys are on it 👍🏻
Probably for 5k but not for a “clean” 9k car!
I was wondering whether you were going to tackle a flood damaged car sometime. There must be a lot of them about after the winter we have had. They seem popular to US salvage guys.
"chris'll get that out o there" The bloke is a wizard - is there nothing he can't sort out?
Water washer bottle looks ok so i think you will be ok😁
Looks like a split on the steering wheel. Possibly when they cut the air bag on the steering wheel.
Great video as always..👍👍
Last few I have had from Copart has been the same, undisclosed water damage and also damage from the forklift loaders. I hear their point on they go on the insurance declaration. But in some cases I am travelling the length of the country for these motors 😡
Had 3 cars lately from there in photos wasn’t a dent on a panel, and turned up same panel in photos has tons of dents from drivers and opening doors at co part etc etc, nightmare!
You boys have got a big return to look forward to on the BM. 🎉
Top work chaps and amazing positivity even with all that nonsense! 👍
Great BMW looking forward to following its rebirth!👍👍👍
Lovely bit of salvage boys! 👍
Looks like a really nice car shame parts are going to be so expensive but can’t wait to see the finish job
Rob and Chris a lovely car you and Chris will do a great job ❤
Very Nice BMW X1
Bring back Universal Salvage, regularly bought from them throughout the Uk and Denny in Scotland, back in the day.
Hi guys, watching this from France where I live, nice bottle of St. Emilion, can’t think of anything better to be doing. 😊👍
It's a shame about the first car, but at least ot hadn't been delivered to you. The BMW has definitely been on its side, probably why the front strut was ripped out. It's going to be a lovely car, looking forward to the next one. 👍
Great content as usual, this beats any tv show. Cheers gentleman 👍
It would have been interesting to see that flood damaged car fixed provided the engine was working
Copart need to up their game a bit,
The bmw is going to take a bit of your time but should turn out very nice
if it helps, on iphone there is a feature to record with the front and back camera at the same time, puts the front cam in a little box on the main rear cam when watching it back, good video again lads, shame about the audi but glad yous got a refund
Nice purchase lads, looking forward to watching Chris have a go at fixing the roof, bloody hard things to repair to a high standard. Cheers for the content.
Looking forward to deeing the bext video!! Excellent video as always, hope all is well, take care
Fair play to them for giving you your money back on the Audi , they should have also offered you another Audi if it’s not that bad!
7:37 maybe pinned to a wall after a chase and it's scrapped along it?
Best of luck with all the ongoing projects on the channel great content 👍👍👍
What a mess!
It’s going to be a heap of work, but you chaps are up to the task.
Well done sorting that flood damaged Audi, shame it looked a descent motor. Spotted the ding in the bonnet when loading.
brave move guys!! nice work
The SOCO will have cut out the drivers side bags for DNA - DNA on blown airbags is great evidence because it identifies who was driving at the time of the accident - ask me how i know. Oh, the fail to start might be a fuel cutoff in the event of a crash, there used to be reset buttons in the boot.
Press and hold the lock button on remote will close the windows. Global opening/closing
Not untill the key was synced 👍
@@sruk yes that's right. Just you said in the vid put the ignition on to close to the windows. I thought you'd probably know but just need incase others didn't. 👍
You get the impression that the people that work in the salvage auction industry hate the idea that someone is trying to repair them?
I get the impression that the people who are moving these cars around don't care about them or the fact that someone is going to buy them and repair them.
I shouldn’t think so otherwise Copart wouldn’t have a salvage industry!!
It's not 'their' industry. You may be too young to remember a time before Copart and before universal salvage. Copart has opened up the industry to 'non professionals and those out of trade. But sadly, judging by the quality of some repairs, is eating itself? These things are cyclical. We are probably heading back to a time when salvage buying will be for the professional, VAT registered account holders only?
When are manufacturers going to keep the dash airbag as a separate part thet can be replaced? Another great video lads!!
Was going to ask dont the fork lifts cause damage to the underside of the cars they move and then they showed the scratches to bonnet and roof.
I own a 2023 X3, super car, really puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it
It looked like the flood sticker was in the picture from the advert you showed?! you can normally zoom in
Beautiful beemer Rob, will be a fantastic car when it's had the S R touch❤ shame about that audi Rob would be a full interior out to clean ton of work
Fantastic video guys.
Never seen you so pissed off Rob. All been there mate with work, tomorrow's another day and a better one. Gonna be awesome this one 👌👊
You seem to be having more and more problems with Copart - perhaps they are struggling and trying to get big bucks for undisclosed rubbish? You guys deserve better....
I don’t think Copart are trying to be dishonest or pull a fast one, I just think they aren’t achieving the level of competence that they used to…
Copart big scam always take pictures far away aswell from the sticker on the window were it states x c i
@@philtucker1224.. it's almost as if some clowns are moving them around and thinking it's f*cked anyway another few dents won't make any difference
@@philtucker1224 not like theyre known for pulling a fast one. oh wait.
@@philtucker1224how can you say they’re not trying to pull a fast one when the car had stickers saying mould and flood damage but they fail to mention that in the listing?
Nice looking car, cant wait to see how it goes!
Lovely motor chaps. Can’t wait to see it finished.
Really enjoyed this one. Interesting about your keyfob replacement bmw instead of Ayden
In USA if you need a new fob you need to bring all the paperwork and your valid DL to the dealership , pay yer money , wait a few days then go back to dealership to pick it up. They won’t deliver it either . I’ve done it twice so it’s pita. Also the 1 series vehicles are known as the poverty spec by enthusiasts over here.
I always thought when the airbags went the pyro fuse Blu ..... i might be wrong .
Lot of work in that one boys gonna cost can't wait for the numbers on this beauty
Hello Gents, sad about the flooded car guys. The BM seems a lot worse than I am sure you could see in the photos, a lot more work for you. You did exactly right rejecting that other car Rob, they should be told they are false advertising their stuff... not the way to do business at all GRRR. Good luck with this one, I think the numbers will be close as the parts and extra work will be expensive.
Watching your video the other day, I bought my first car from Copart earlier in the year was reading the terms and conditions about damage on collection not in the auction photos, if you’re a member you could’ve claimed for that roof damage or any other damage not in the advertised photos, but it must be claimed before you leave the premises or signed for a delivery. As you have a big subscriber base, you need to claim for these damages make a stand as I say.
On the car vertical report it stated its odometer was 7 miles not the 14331 miles it actually has on the odometer which is dodgy, it wont start until you change the pyro fuse
Why is that dodgy it’s never had a mot and never had a service Copart also had no keys so how on earth can carverticle or anyone else know the milage also just so you know for next time if a pyro is blown the car will not crank as that is what a pyro stops the live to the starter so you won’t get any crank you can see in this video it is cranking over fine 👍
Have to say, the lads are like the real Wheeler Dealers, far superior to the TV show.
Mint video 📹 as usual fellas shame about the audi it looked in a lot better condition than this one copart is definitely getting worse for not showing the bigger picture on the bright side you and Chris are just the boys to get it back to its former glory 😊. Stay lucky and healthy 👍 looking forward to Sundays video 📹 as usual 😊❤
Never seen one of these cars until today but it was a electric one , it flew passed me , some acceleration , looking forward to see how costly the parts are going to be for this one , but I’m sure you guys will make good of it 👍🏻
Is that TPAC rash down the drivers side? Loving the content lads 😀
Rob you keep on about reloading airbags who does it for you , would be good to know
