Chris was spotted in a layby checking the truck for any lost change.
😝😂😂
Great video 👍
Look after the pennies pounds look after them self what I got taught
Hahahaha
Do you know , for me , mainstream TV is total .... , there's so much really worthwhile stuff to watch on RUclips, and of course, this is at the top . Well done guys 😄
Rob you are a first class diagnostic engineer/electrician. Seriously, you are absolutely on top of your game. Well done. Another car repair that will leave your shop with confidence of yet another first rate repair.
Good to see Rob getting some screen time, Chris has been hogging the limelight recently 😂😂
Well done unravelling that cut wiring where the immobiliser was fitted. It’s always easier to remove such equipment when in possession of the wiring diagram and manual showing how it was fitted in the first place. You did not have that luxury but still got the job done.
Yes former zipcar. Been using these for years (don’t have a car). Primarily they have: 1) a control module (hidden - allows the remote access and managed bookings), 2) a key retention device in the glovebox (where you put the key at start/end of the rental) and 3) a sensor unit on the windscreen (used to open and close the car with your phone/smart card at start and finish of your bookings).
Hence there will be three sets (at least) of non-standard loom pieces. Great work as ever guys
My son made me laugh. He was shouting at the screen. Don't start it. Chris is not here. He still remembers the fire. 😂
Those parking tickets Chris found, they're handy for putting on your friends' cars for a laugh. Every time I find the empty yellow parking ticket sleeves in the street I take them to work and put them on my colleagues' cars 😂
Never change what you both do together as always entertaining well done
Not going to change it are they bloody raking it in, and rightly so😂
Well done Rob sorting out that dash wiring that car was a bargain 👍
Well done Rob, you're a genius. Had my fair share of dealing with hacked wiring looms, sometimes a real headache. Perfick🎉
These guys are true pros, absolutely at the top of their game.
Cream airbag will be fine in that steering wheel, the seats are black and cream too.
The newest shape 500 that you mentioned Rob are the full electric ones only, they still kept this shape going for the hybrid ones, just so u know 👍👍
Looks to be a steal. Nice sorting out of the electrics.
I think the cream airbag would look really smart and match the seat trims.
Zipcar if anyone’s wondering!
That cream airbag would match the seats, fit it and take a second look.
My word following those cables back! Loving your work Rob. The comments can’t say you haven’t got your hands dirty this time 😂
Rob, the ring around the ignition barrel is to detect the immobiliser chip in the key. The immobiliser itself is useless but if you break connection to that ring, the car will never start. Best simple immobiliser for a Fiat 500! The wires to the dash connector or to get access the the CAN bus as the dash is a node on the bus.
lol I know bud
Nothing phases you blokes, true professionals!
I thought the airbag looked ok and matched the seats.
Heroic work on the wiring though.
Great vid, I used to buy from universal salvage in sandwich, watching the these has got me back in , purely for some DIY fun and teaching my son the basics , just bought my son a light rear cat N i10 we are doing doing up as he's learning learning to drive, cheers lads!!!
Brilliant electrical fathoming and rectification there, very impressed !
Having just brought a 3 year old Fiat 500 hybrid. Very interested in this repair, well done.
It's possible Rob that the 500 hybrid might share parts with the panda hybrid 1 litre. Worth checking. Well done on the 500. Love the colour. 👍
Lovely work on the wiring! And an amazing bargain!
Brilliant detective work Rob. Welldone !
This is a nice colour car and interior. That wiring was a bit of a pain to say the least but some careful thought on your part Rob and she's a runner! It was a bonus that Chris found a second key, not often you get two from that Auction company but it makes sense knowing what the car was previously used for. A great video Rob and Chris once again well done on the progress so far Gents. 👍👍
Wow, a tubular driveshaft for £700. They'll be making them out of plastic next! Where do they get these prices from? My son's Toyota had a driveshaft break in half and it was solid steel about 1 inch in diameter. Still not acceptable even though it was 15 years old.
You would do them all day if you could get them at that price, going to be some good profit in this one, and it will be gone within minutes when it goes up. Shame it needs as much paint work, but still, it helps make up for the van and 1 series from Copart.
Pretty sure I saw Chris in the queue at Verrils chip shop, in Hartlepool, on the day he was supposed to be picking up that motor for you. Sneaky bugger.
He’d probably saved up enough change from the money he finds under the seats 🤣
Awesome lil car .... I think Chris should buy a big jar and put all the change he finds in and check at Xmas time 🎉
The highlight of my Sunday! Keep it up.
I love it when rob turns it over and it starts I’m still smiling, great job rob 😊
Fascinating video a pleasure watching 2 professionals at work thank you for the video guys !
Good evening Rob and Chris, nice little car, did Chris - “Captain Slow” turn up with some coffees in the end?
Great team work as ever.
Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
Just AMAZING GUYS nothing is too much of a job for you hats of 🎉🎉❤
lovely little purchase, great colour too, you will have no problem shifting that on
I think those London car club cars are hybrid so they don’t incur any congestion charges etc..
Love the little dance at 5:22 🤣
I think the cream air bag would look good ?? Mate
Those Fiat hybrids are brilliant. Hired a Panda in Greece and it went absolutely everywhere and sips fuel.
Rod this is going to be a great little car when you and Chris get it done. You and Chris make it look so easy what a great team you both are keep up your good work guys👏🏻🫶🏻👏🏻
Really great stuff. Well done with sorting out those electrics.
There will most likely be a fault logged for the BSG (Belt Starter Generator) Code P1947. It disables the hybrid system when there has been a crash. This can be only removed by the dealer for around £100. Dash will light up like a Christmas tree otherwise.
Nice job on the wiring and dash! 👍
When working at dealerships we were always coming up against it with parts that didn't fit. The partsman would be adamant that the slide said the £1000 part we had ordered was correct to VIN and, because special order can't be returned, we would be stuck with it. Only trouble was, the waste would be totalled at the end of the month and removed from our bonus pay.
How come you only have 292k subscribers your far better than that ??
Cool great on backing out the sire system for the remote start, and then assumptions can be a challenge, great turn around as you source the remaining parts.
Good work there Rob, you had to think on your feet to fix the wiring. Looking forward to seeing this moving under its own power.
Great video guys thank you guys a million, you guys are amazing, always going above and beyond for us, 🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏💪💪❤️❤️🍀🍀🌞🌞
In my opinion it is a lovely colour, it'll be a nice one..it's a pity car vertical is so expensive, even with the 20% off. it's okay for you utubers who are sponsored by Car vert, but if I am buying a few cars a week the cost of checks mount up quickly.
That's going to be a nice looking car, love the colour.
Lovely little car for someone that young or old and what a great earner!!
" it was running alright before it crashed " 😂😂😂😂😂
It would be great to have a bit of an update on some of the longer term projects in an upcoming video.
If my memory is correct you have 2 boats. One which was left on a pile of woodchips
2 camper vans, LI54HVN and another smaller one
Chris’s personal stuff and the Yard improvements etc
Fit the cream airbag. It matches the seats and doors. and will look cool.
I had one of these Hybrid 500s as a hire car last year (and in that colour too!) and I really enjoyed driving it. And nice work returning all the wiring loom to original from where the spot-hire company had fitted their system into it. That is going to be a cracking little car.
Good work Rob, your gut feel is usually right.
Well done with the wiring Rob, it can be a nightmare when there is a problem 👍🥸
You're a bit of an auto electrics wizard Rob. Fair play
Well done and fixing that wiring problem Rob.
Started to look like another nightmare situation with all those cut wires Rob. But with some hard work and what looks very cramp conditions in the fiat 500, you sorted it well done with getting it Started 🤛
Good work on the wiring Rob,be a nice car when it's finished
Nice bit of wiring rob and a nice little car and a nice big profit look forward to the next one 👌🏻💯
people are feeling the pinch but for anybody with money its a good time ,thanks for the video
Hello,Rob and Chris ,brilliant work on this Hybrid Fiat 500,strange that this one isn't the same as a normal one.nice looking car,and it starts very well after the wiring mess.
Another cracking film … interesting to see the remote access spliced in then hacked out… my 18 bmw has factory remote access via an app , can also track it via the app 👍
Brilliant video Rob and Chris watching from Edinburgh Scotland UK 🇬🇧 👏 👍
That wiring removal was horrible bodge - what a pain for you
Well done, Rob. excellent teamwork
Good to see a proper car back on the channel
Looks as though your engine bed swaps have become your winning formula 😉 for relatively quick turnarounds, so glad your dashboard finally 👏 came together ❤ 😊
Great video, nice job guys. Looking forward to the next video.
Broken and abused ex rental. One careful owner and 500 crazy drivers
Brilliant piece of finding out that wiring😍
Once again a lovely bit of salvage boys!
Always enjoy the videos on the channel keep up the great work guys 👍👍👍
well done guy's and well done Rob that's looks like it's going to be a quick turn round 👍👌
Lads, videos top. A bed vs A front subframe? Are they the same thing, I'm a noob around the oily bits on cars though been around used cars 2 decades never heard of a bed
Wiring can be a Real nightmare good job guys😊
Well done lads! Lots of effort in the wiring Rob, all worth it though.
Compulsive viewing Guys great video just loving this channel
Bout time you got your hands dirty Rob well done mate 👏👏👍
That was great work with the wiring I would have started crying if I seen that 😂
Brilliant video Rob and Chris always great videos guys
So a return to fixing 500's eh? and why not if they sell well! Think you got it for a steal - maybe the rental company just wanted a quick turnaround and they probably got it with a big discount when it was new. Well done on sorting all that wiring - could have been a nightmare - Got a lot sorted with this one and I'm sure it will be completed soon in your usual efficient way👍
It was sold by insurance bud the rental company would have been paid out 👍
Well done on the rewiring job Rob, don't knock Chris for his snail speed, just remember "slowly, slowly, catchy, monkey)
perhaps the key bypass was made by putting a key reader under the passenger seat, with that key [the one chris found] in it ...
excellent work chris, that rob bloke took his time mind...
keep it up chaps
Hi Chris and co have you guys ever tried to buy from Silverlake Auctions in Southampton ? I saw a 2014 Fiat 500 for only £500 Cat N with just s dent in the door , replace the door and you got a perfect car , only reason i dont do it is A im a Female and B i dont have a trailer to tow a car back but yeah Fiat 500 is a very good car the 1.2 engine is like indestructible as its the OG engine from the 1990s you know when the original Punto was released? so tried and tested tech , the only problem is they have zero power 0-60 is like 13 secs but £5 of petrol = 50 miles so you cant beat that value for money.
Looks like you really enjoy yourself. Love the videos
That wiring looked a complete mare, glad you managed to figure it out. I think this little car will be a quick turnaround for you. 👍
Hi rob and Chris great job on the wee car, well done on doing the wireing and the air bags rob, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
Nice to see you back in a 500
Another wonderful episode. Thank you.
Amazing how much damage a Squirrel can do to a Fiat these days 😂😂
Nice little car and amazing price😮
Little tip, if you can't physically see something try filming it with a phone and watch it back, worked for me a few times
It's classed as a hybrid . But it's a minor one as its elc assist helps it go when it's hills lol.
The saying is you don't make money on a sale you make it by buying at the right price Nice Vlog Rob
