What a cracking deal! Theres soooo many one-man-band traders in London who cant afford to upgrade to a ULEZ compliant van (like my cousin), who are having to pay TFL just to work, who would LOVE this, even with the silver bonnet! (you could just wrap it with white vinyl!)

best bargain i got from copart was a jaguar xf sportbrake 40k light damage to bonnet wing that was it.i bid 2400 and got back reserve 6350 and stuck to my bid then got it..waiting times are a nightmare at whitburn scotland over two hours at times but ive been to westbusy chester newbury and seen very quickly.

Well bought, well repaired and you should make good wages, you both deserve it. But is it me, as an retired insurance assessor unless I'm missing something why was that vehicle written off? Sandwich Copart land is enormous. When I was a local lad growing up in the sixties, that land was all owned by Volkswagen and was their main U.K. import yard with its own railway track running direct from the port of Ramsgate.
My dad and me built a shed out of packing crates from the VW store! Still kept the tar paper on them! Happy days....

Their loss is your gain ! As you noted, likely as the holidays and year end means a lot of stuff for insurers to get off their books, take the write off and move on. Lets not forget the insurers value the damage with new or certain patent parts, the high rates of labor/labour at a regular body shop, thought the damage was far worse than actual, costs of a rental vehicle for the insured, processing costs, time to get parts.
