I got mine yesterday. I set it up, plugged it in and it works just like any other machine I've owned. I like touching the screen instead of that knob that you had to push and then turn and push again just to change humidification or pressure settings on the Dreamstation One. So for me, this is an improvement and it's smaller so fits easier into my suitcase when traveling.
CHRIST ! I was happy with my dreamstation 1, was deceived by the foamgate event and that i had to stop using my Dreamstation immediately, but was kind of hoping to get a Dreamstation 2 as a replacement, but now all my hopes are gone. Fuck this shit. I'm going to RESMED. that's it.
Spot on analysis of the Dreamstation 2 bad design flaws and how cheaply it was made. I really like your explanation of OSCAR and how it benefited your CPAP therapy. I am really glad I just replaced my Philips Respironics Series One APAP with a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet CPAP. FYI, Philips implemented a feature in the Dreamstation 2 that allows DME's to lock you out of the clinicians menu with a PIN password.
I hate mine. Leaks air. Dry mouth so bad. I do have arthritis. Have to get out of bed abd turn lights on to see what happening. Called my supply co. They were rude said I could buy another one, but Ins would not pay until 5 years. I got mine on a😅 recall. Should I call Medicare. I have exc ins and they paid for it. It does not see. To be helping me at all. I have already been through 4 different headgears and mask. It’s made cheap and so trashy. Do not feel I am benefiting from it as I should. Bp high and headaches not any better, I have the black. They control mine from the drs side. Then what can one do or what is the solution? I don’t know how to rebate mine with them having my SIM card.
@@BubbleGuts6913 and why exactly would you trust a company that made the CancerStation, ignored the problem for years. You just waiting to find out how they are trying to harm you this time?
This machine really strikes me that if was designed by an engineer who was told to CUT COSTS….sorta like how the foam in the DS1 was poorly chosen. Function should be the first priority on medical devices.
After using Dream Station 2 for 2 years and the station 1 and Responics model 50 before that hears my take: Tube outlet - perfect as a side sleeper with connection at top of mask , the tube lays correctly to top of my head with the screen facing me. And using a heated tube means I can’t use a 90 degree angle ( no electric connection). Water chamber - still on original black lid, no broken parts , no scratches on finish. It is very easy to get use to its quarks. I fill the chamber every morning and on occasion I do spill a little but no big deal. When I travel I have always take my machine and use distilled water (by car or plane ) so the one piece unit is better in my case, no worries about losing cover plate when not using humidifier. Filter - When you fill the water chamber chance the filter. There is an auto reminder available on the display screen. Display screen - is not the best design or easiest to use. Software updates have fixed locked display for me. I have more real estate on my night stand now a definite plus. This is just my take on this machine, it’s not perfect the company has been severely damaged by this foam issue. They are pulling out of the north American market now which leaves us with a very limited choice of machines Just my opinion of Dream Staton 2
I already hated this machine when I first saw the reviews on the net, but after seeing your video I hate it 4X now! With so much experience in the field and all the customers they have in the cpap/bipap market, one would expect Philips Respironics to do much better in their new products... it's a shame...
OSCAR is a must for effective treatment. My sleep doctor (who I'm looking to replace with whoever my new, absolutely amazing, PCP recommends) doesn't even do followups himself. He just has a nurse from his office call and tell you 'you're doing ok' and charge for a full office visit. Not knocking the nurses, they do their best with the information and knowledge they have, but it's not useful for the patients unless something seriously needs adjustment. I'm currently doing the same thing you did with OSCAR. I've switched my machine to APAP mode and am dialing in the pressures after getting data for a few nights after each change. Without this I'd be stuck on CPAP therapy that isn't ideal and spending co-pay after co-pay to try and get some useful information for adjustments from the doctor.
Resmed and Resmed only for me! I'm fortunate to have started on Resmed S9 in 2014. Now on Resmed AC10 VAuto since 2017. Personal Tip to the folks looking to by the Upcoming Resmed 11 or another brand: Buy the Resmed 10, instead of waiting for the Resmed 11 (check you model and treatment requirements Resmed has 6+ different Model-10 machines). Why?" (1) Proven robustness, dependability and simple design. (2) Parts and accessories are relatively cheap outside the DMEs. I use Amazon and eBay for replacements and (3) SD card interface with Oscar. #3 has been big reason why I personally recommend this. No! I'm not sponsored by Resmed: but would if I could!
I've been using the Dreamstation2 ( replacement for the recalled unit) for more than a year. Your overall review was pretty much right on. I asked the prescribing Phy , Sleep study and pharmacy suppliers why I could no longer retrieve my data on the Respironic's website. They could not answer me. They said I was the only one that had complained. Your mention of the Oscar 1.5.1 program was just what I needed. I installed it on my Windows 11 64 bit and it is up and running and with all the reports it is capable of producing i feel as though I'm back in control of my CPAP routine again.
Thanks so much for this video! I just got the DS2 as my first machine and I had no idea how complex everything was. I appreciate the tip to restart the machine when the touchscreen freezes.
My husband recently prescribed a machine brought this machine home. It’s all you say, but it’s very quiet. He is hiring to see which he prefers so at least we can choose what he likes. I have a resmed lady machine , strong dependable and not dodgy like this one. He does not know about foamgate, so I have not told him about this. The whole machine seem really stupid design. My machine is sturdy dependable and works so well . The settings on resmed are clear easy to use, tubing swivels , this one I can’t get the tube off to even wash ,so stupid. Thanks for your review.
I get my replacement tomorrow and I’m not happy with the humidifier situation. I don’t use the humidifier and now I’m going to have to lug it on planes and in my backpack. This is bad design. I wish I had my Resmed back. Well I got my unit. I believe the company got a team together and said “let’s design the worst cpap ever guys!”. The thing is huge with the integrated humidifier which you have to leave attached, the touch screen pops on if you get anywhere near the on off switch in the middle of the night but is unresponsive if you want to make changes, and the design is cheap and flimsy. 🤬
I just got my replacement DS 2 in January. I found this video because I got service messages on my screen. Restarted: still there. Before I the error message I would get weird popping noises in my mask. Back to my ResMed. Really sad. I feel like these machines are just handed (sold) to us after getting diagnosed. I have other sleep issues. Sleep medicine needs to step it up!
Great video. I thought the humidifier looked like a nightmare when I saw some early information on this pre-foamgate. This looks way worse than I thought then
@@AdventureswithCPAP my dexeterity is one of the few things on me that’s not true, LOL but it still looks awful. What is fragile little bit look terrible. The spring for the latch on my DS 1 broke a couple of years ago. I’m blown away by how much better my née AS10 is in almost every way compared to the DS1, let alone the DS2
Just woke up (2:30 am) because the machine had shut off. And EVERYTHING mentioned in this video is TRUE. As I tried to reset it in the dark and upside down and without my glasses - I said to myself "this is a piece of crap". Where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah - in this video. I wish I'd never returned my old dreamstation! I do have another "defective" dreamstation that I will not return when I'm finally shipped it's dreamstation 2 replacement. I'm ordering some parts from Amazon ASAP so that I can return to the old technology that works for me. Foam particles be damned! I've added the extra hose filter that, hopefully, fixes that problem. RRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Completely agree with your assessment of the DS2. Got my replacement last Friday. Is it possible to just replace the foam in the DS1? I'm really happy with it and have no interest in using the DS2.
I had one for about a month just because the recall was public. I think it was thrown together knowing the recall was coming. I hatred it so much I bought a Res Med Air Sense 10 as the recall was being made public. I will never own a Philip product again. Love my Air Sense 10
I'm over 70 and have been using CPAP for about 12 years, including Dream-Station and, since 2021, Dream-Station 2. Never had a problem with the last two machines. I use the round button to turn the machine on at night and off in the morning. No fiddling around with the settings and I rarely use the touch-screen. No problem with cleaning, removing/opening/closing/inserting the tank, none of the issues you describe. The only problem I have are occasional leaks from my full-face Vitera mask because sometimes it shifts (side-sleeper and full beard). Who cares if the surface is not scratch resistant? BTW, your insulting response to andrewberry6546 (How much was the check from Philips?) as well as your presentation shows a bit of your character and temper.
@@AdventureswithCPAP Your insulting response to andrewberry6546 (How much was the check from Philips?) as well as your presentation shows a bit of your character and temper.
Does anyone receive a loud machine. Every time I inhale a loud whistling happens. I’ve checked for leaks in the hose and mask. Can’t even get to sleep. Thank you.
Think I found the noise(sounds like wheezing to me), is from the holes on side of the machine. Where the air enters the machine. I can’t sleep with it! Back to the doctor to get something different!
After the handling of the issues they've had, no idea why anyone would touch a Philips machine. Period. They ignored the problem, have blamed ozone, which doesn't explain the ventilators with the same problem, etc... So yeah, no Philips for me.
the worst part, IMO is the inner workings. The channel the air goes through is stuff for about 6-8 inches fully with foam. Foam that has been shown to have dangerous levels of formaldehyde under normal use, much less when air your breathing for 8 hours a day is being forced through it.
Dream station two is quieter than dream station 1 but..BUT it does not control Apnea’s as well AT all!!! I am so upset that i keep upping my pressures and keep having more and more Apnea’s compared to dream station 1. I need something different. Any ideas of better brands?
Thank you for your review. I just received my replacement 2 DreamStation today. Very hard to get the water reservoir out but more than that it smells very horribly from either plastic or glue. Maybe I will run it on it's own for a few hours and wash it up and see if the smell goes away.
I agree. Terrible design. Just bought one to replace my dreamstation 1. daily refill of the water is a real pain. I used to just be able to open the resevoir by my bed and pour in the water. Not any more - major hassle and its still new, I share concern about the little plastic hooks breaking. In addition, I need to fill the water to the fill line to accommodate the dry air in the Canadian winter. The old dreamstation I could open and see whether the fill line was hit by looking at the transparent feed tube. This new one I can't see through the black feed and must remove the reservoir, take it to a well lit level surface, and bend over to watch the fill line from the side. Then transport it back without spilling (remember I am at the max fill line). Every night, this routine. The first time a little did get spilled into the machine itself (the awkward reattachment process jerked the water). Had to detach the hose and let it blow out for about 5 minutes. I assume all this is to keep manufacturing costs to a minimum because they had to give them away to all the dreamstation 1 owners who filled out the recall notice form. Don't buy the Dreamstation 2. I still like the Phillips mask (light and easy to wear), which is why I bought the new one - but every other disadvantage noted in this review has already proved to be true in the first week of ownership of the Dreamstation 2. I agree - don't buy it.
My Dreamstation 2 does NOT blow as hard as my Dreamstation 1. I was happy with my DS 1 until the foam news. I’d love to dry a different manufacturer next time.
Recently read about the DS2 silicone foam giving off high leveles of volition chemicals as well and is conducting required testing for the FDA concerning the new silicone foam. So now I don’t know which of the two cancer causing machines to use. 🤬

Im a Respiratory Therapist and give these out daily and do setups. This by far is the one machine with the most issues. Anything from burnt out motors, Humidifier hot plate over heating no matter what setting its on, screen not working, machine just dies for now reason. Brand new machine getting maintenance required messages just all around terrible machine. I think this machine was rushed because of the recall and had to put this out asap for all those pissed off people without cpaps. I have to warranty replace atleast 3 machines a week no lie. IF you have the option before receiving this machine tell your dr to write Resmed on the order form so you don't end up with this trash.
I agree, the DreamStation 2 sucks. I have one as a backup to replace the Resperonics System One with the toxic foam However, it now works with OSCAR, FWIW. ResMed makes much better cpaps and bipaps. I have a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV. It is awesome!
My DreamStation Go is extremely similar to the DS2. Touch screen small, but like the DS1 in the icons. Attached extra purchase humidifier for the Go is flimsy plastic! The top is the gasket and completely comes off, But the entire humidifier is detachable. The filters on the Go are specific with plastic frame into the machine and not washable. With the humidifier, the hose is not stable, and wrong angles. Since having a ResMed, my husband says I’m not snoring anymore. Um, I was snoring with my other machine? Well, more like air noise, maybe the machine. Not helpful… And I’m done with Philips. The quality of sleep I have now is vastly improved. Same Philips mask, just a ResMed AirSense 10.
I have both the Dream Station and now the Dream Station 2 which runs out of water at about 5 am and starts cooking the dehumidifier vessel, off-gassing noxious fumes; it's a piece of toxic crap, the Dream Station does not have this problem. Any suggestions? Excellent very helpful presentation.
The only thing I think might help would be to either turn down your humidification setting, or get a heated hose if you don't already have one. I find I use a LOT less water with my AirSense 10 when I'm using the heated hose. On the other hand, it uses a lot more power.
I did the recall and they sent me the same initial machine. I never got the dream station 2. Then I started seeing lots of negative reviews. And I thought well maybe i'm better off I don't know. That looks really cheap. Water would not an issue as I keep my distilled water at bedside. Too bad about Oscar. From what I have been told, the foam replaced is different.
I’ve had the first Dreamstation then this one as my replacement after the recall. It’s been temperamental since I got it. Last night it stopped working. I get the Low Leak error but I can’t find the leak. I changed the hose and still nothing. This is the biggest piece of crap. Now I’m stuck.
WOW that's actually trash at a new level. Why would they run humidity through the machine? It's like they reinvented the wheel by making it a triangle. The air filter and SD card slot is close to moisture blowing inside either or 😱. The only reason I even watched the video is because Phillips could potentially send me two of these to replace my two other recalled machines.
The cheap, I’ll-fitting, janky, plastic humidifier will quickly be the downfall of this sub-par machine. At least with the old one, you could just disconnect the humidifier (which some of us don’t use) and plug the hose directly into the machine. Can’t do that with the new one. Plus you also need to remove the humidifier to change/clean the air filters unlike the old machine where the filters have outside access. As for the problematic foam, reports are that the new machine’s foam may be even more prone to disintegration. Stay tuned.
Lost all respect for Phillips when I heard about a recall and they would never be transparent why it's recalled. Researching found out about the foam. Dealt with them and recall.. everyone knows how that goes no where and with false hope. Imagine WAITING for a year while sucking cancer fumes every night until they do something. Ripped out the foam and never looked back.. Was considering Dreamstation 2, but looks like I'm better sticking with my NOW great cpap.
My insurance will only provide DS2, not another brand. Are DME's and insurance companies contracted with Phillips in such a way that they cannot ever provide a choice of another brand.
Oftentimes, what happens is that your sleep doctor has a relationship with a CPAP manufacturer, and receives kickbacks from the company for prescribing their products exclusively. Both Philips and ResMed have been busted for this by the DOJ here in the US, and both have happily paid the fines and kept on with the same practices. If your doctor is on the take with Philips, chances are good that he or she wrote a branded prescription. In other words, they didn't write a prescription for an Auto CPAP with a specific range of pressures; they wrote a prescription for a specific brand of device. I'm running into this problem now, because my initial prescription was for a DreamStation and a DreamWear Full Face Mask. The DreamWear Full Face did NOT work for me. I've been through four different masks trying to find the right one for me. But when I reach the end of my ten-month cool-off period and insurance finally starts paying for supplies, I'm gonna have a fight on my hands. Technically, my insurance will only pay for the DreamWear Full Face, since that's what I was prescribed. I got a clean prescription from my GP for supplies of my choice, but my DME won't accept it.
@@AdventureswithCPAP My doc requested that my DS1 be replaced with a Resmed 10 with my DME. My insurance company advised that they would replace the DS1 with only a DS2. I'm thinking about self administration because my DME is next to useless. This would be a large learning curve. Regrettably, still a mess. Thanks for responding to my post.
DME’s don’t contract with insurances for specific brand of equipment. I’ve been a DME supplier for 30 years and you can request whatever brand you want. You might have to go to a DME that carries that brand, but no, the insurance and DME aren’t in come contractual agreement to only supply ONE brand.
@@WoodyONeal, my prescription is specifically for a Philips DreamStation, and my sleep doctor refused to write me a script for a new one. Had my GP not gone over her head and wrote me a clean non-branded script, my insurance company wouldn't pay for a ResMed machine under any circumstances. Mind you, my insurance company absolutely refuses to pay for a new machine of any brand unless my sleep doctor can prove it's medically necessary -- and mine won't -- but let's just say I could get them to bend on that. I would still need a clean, non-branded script, or a script for a ResMed specifically, or BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama wouldn't chip in a cent for it. And that's coming straight from a BCBS customer service agent. It may be incorrect. There may be a workaround. But that's what my insurance company told me. If I have a branded script, that brand is all my insurance will cover.
I’m so sorry. 😞 The last I saw, the OSCAR team said they don’t think the encryption is uncrackable, but it’s proving to be a difficult task. Do you, by chance, use an Android phone? If so, they’re looking for testers to side load an app to intercept data sent directly from the DS2 to DreamMapper in hopes that’ll give them some insight into the encryption.
Have you had issues with Rainout on the new black dreamstation 2? When I had rainout on the white DS2 I could simply lift my tube and the water would fall back into the humidifier holding tank becasue the tube connection was on the top and angled, but on the black DS2 that is impossible since the tube is on the side of the machine and has no angle (guessing also cuz how far it has to travel to get to the humidifier area as you explained. Did anyone get a heated tube to solve this issue??
Hey Gina! My wife actually turned this unit into the DME shortly after I finished this video, as she said she'd rather not have a CPAP than use this one. She doesn't use humidity, though, so it wouldn't have been relevant. But yes, a heated hose SHOULD help a lot if you're having a that problem. Reason being, connecting a heated hose not only enables automatic humidity adjustments, but it prevents condensation. If you have trouble finding one, a hose wrap might also work! That keeps the cooler room air from hitting the outside of the hose. amzn.to/3RTNgsP
Agree with everything in this review. Is anybody having a problem with white fibrous material discharging and accumulating in the humidifier tank? My first DS2 that I received as a replacement unit for my recalled System One was doing this. I sent it back and Philips sent me another DS2 replacement that I just received. After the third night of using this second machine there was a lot of white fibrous material floating in the tank again. It resembles the fibers in the filters. It's either the filters breaking down or the "new" foam breaking down. It is a brand new machine! It can't be good breathing these fibers in.
I just got the DS2, and I didn't read any reviews, because I thought, "my original DS has lasted me 7 years so far and has been so amazing, this new DS2 will be also". I fill my original DS with water every night. I flip open the lid, fill it, shut the lid, and go to sleep, because im sleepy. Easy. This new DS2 is a nightmare fight just to get water into the reservoir, and I'm going to have to do this every night when im tired and I don't want to put up with this shit. That DS2 will be broken in a few months... maybe weeks.
Your device transmits exactly the same way as the dream station 1 did. It's all avaliable in care orchestrator. Do not state in accurate information. All your sleep information is still being transmitted in the same app.
End users don't have access to Care Orchestrator. And the app available on your phone doesn't give detailed information. There's nothing inaccurate about what I've said.
The water spilling out...its like mission impossible. 🤬 the heating plate gets very hot by morning..i got burned trying to refill it for a cpl more hrs sleep.
I couldnt agree more with every thing you mentioned about this unit. I got this unit as my replacement for the Dreamstation and I have NOT been happy since. It is very apparent that the engineers that designed this unit have zero clue about usage. As a former sleep tech and respiratory therapist it pisses me off. My doctor has requested a different machine but like you mentioned this is all that is currently available. Luckily I work in the clinic where my doctors office is so he and I discuss my therapy pretty regularly and being a former sleep tech he knows that I want to stay on top of this. I want to 'Office Space' this machine so bad but I have to wait until something else becomes avialable and there is no telling how long that is going to be. So like it or not I am stuck with it and will use it. I wont be happy about it though. Great review by the way.
I took the foam out of mine and the wife's DS1. I DON'T think the ahi are accurate now but I don't care. That black foam that turns to sludge at the touch was scary to see knowing it could be in my lung. I hear the 2 has a white foam, how do I know that won't break down. I won't so I am done with Phillips, other than my mask. I like my DS1 but if it dies I won't replace with a foam filled machine.
I had 2 of the ds1 and sent one for recall and got a ds2 replacement the other I got a new compressor chamber with no stupid foam. The ds2 consult breaks. It is trash.
There engineers didn't design the humidifier reservoir on the original dream station very well either as it's to small. When turned up all the way the reservoir will run out of water after about 6 hours. I don't know about you but I try to get 8 hours sleep and am a mouth breather. I get woke up soon as it run out of water and my mouth and throat dry out.
I hatethis one stop using it for months and when I seen my Dr. She told me I had to use it for two weeks to get a new Res medicine I love my Resmed airsense 10.
Well... Not to get too pedantic on you here, but my intention for my OSCAR video is to demonstrate how *I* use the software. The one thing I'm learning from this journey is that no two people are alike. What I look at in my OSCAR data is different from what I look for in my dad's data, or my next-door neighbor's. That's one of the things I'm trying to do with this channel: underline the fact that there's no one-size-fits-all solution. What I'm hoping is that in sharing what I've learned works for me, that'll encourage people to be more mindful and experimental with their own therapy and find what works for them! Also, keep in mind that I'm a rank newb. I've only been at this since February. So I'm gonna make mistakes. And I'm gonna make them out loud. :)
The new machine is a downgrade but at least the foam isnt under recall like the model I. I think it must have been designed to be made quickly given the massive number of replacements needed because of the recall. A stopgap design needed to fill an emergency need. And I wouldnt discount the threat of that old type of foam which was used in the DS 1 but also every other older PR machine (and ResMed). So while the new machine has fewer features (you forgot no more humidifier preheat and no more swivel hose outlet....) the new model wont cause foam related health problems like the first may. Whats that worth to a person....
After 5 years, the motors Inside the machines start to degrade and cannot run as fast and hard as needed! So YES IT MATTERZ! If it’s 5 years and older, time for a new machine
Yup the blowers do wear out and are a bit tricky to clean. Just replaced my honey's blower in her system one. She got just under 10 years out of the blower before the bearings failed. The motherboard was made extremely well with the safety and circuit protection features they skimp on with more modern ones. Compliance range 18.6v max, 10v minimum! 😲 Got the replacement blower from a damaged machine that had a broke sd card connector. 🤓 ❤
100% junk. I have not even had mine a year and the heating plate has gone out so no humidity whatsoever. Also now I have to unplug it to get it to turn off as it won't turn off when I push the button. I don't even know who the hell to call for any help. This thing is a big piece of crap. The two piece filter really ticks me off!! More money out the window. I can't get the humidity/tube temp right with only 4 clicks per side. I wish I had recourse!! GRRR
Then all the foamaphobes would be suggesting that the now-empty chamber was more than likely offgassing toxic chemicals-- without a bit of evidence of such. But nevermind the masks or hoses themselves possibly offgassing....

Couldn’t agree more. It feels cheap, it’s not durable, and it’s a pain in the ass to use.
thought the same exact thing
After using Dream Station 2 for 2 years and the station 1 and Responics model 50 before that hears my take:
Tube outlet - perfect as a side sleeper with connection at top of mask , the tube lays correctly to top of my head with the screen facing me.
They are pulling out of the north American market now which leaves us with a very limited choice of machines
Just my opinion of Dream Staton 2

Nice video. This thing definitely appears to be a massive design downgrade from the original DS1 (other than the obvious foam recall...)
I’m so sorry, Debra. 😞
Well said. All complaints are true!!!
This looks way worse than I thought then
It’s horrible!
Do keep in mind, though, that I have arthritis. So my manual dexterity is somewhat limited.
@@AdventureswithCPAP my dexeterity is one of the few things on me that’s not true, LOL but it still looks awful. What is fragile little bit look terrible.
Was not expecting a critical role clip but it just made me like your channel even more.
Completely agree with your assessment of the DS2. Got my replacement last Friday. Is it possible to just replace the foam in the DS1? I'm really happy with it and have no interest in using the DS2.
You can remove the foam from the chamber in the DS1, i've removed it from three systems.

I had one for about a month just because the recall was public. I think it was thrown together knowing the recall was coming. I hatred it so much I bought a Res Med Air Sense 10 as the recall was being made public. I will never own a Philip product again. Love my Air Sense 10
I found when I had an older machine, they would not have my supplies. I ended up ordering them on eBay
Thank you and to the others that brought truth to light about this brand and model
I am informed and will seek my bipap accordingly
You are totally wrong , it is a superb piece of kit and works brilliantly !!!
Bless your heart. How much was the check from Philips?
Thank you.
Yup. Got mine two nights ago. Hate it. Its loud. My dreamstation 1 was quieter.
Great video. Philips lost me for good of this is the answer to foamgate.
Must of been designed by a " D " student who majored in Art history
Thank you for your review. I just received my replacement 2 DreamStation today. Very hard to get the water reservoir out but more than that it smells very horribly from either plastic
or glue. Maybe I will run it on it's own for a few hours and wash it up and see if the smell goes away.
Just got the DreamStation 2. To hell with the CancerStation 1

Not helpful…
And I’m done with Philips. The quality of sleep I have now is vastly improved. Same Philips mask, just a ResMed AirSense 10.
Yes, it is smaller almost the size of a Thanksgiving Ham
My little cousins ask me the other night. How did you get it to be so quiet...it's a new machine
Ok but will it help me sleep better and stop my snoring??
I have both the Dream Station and now the Dream Station 2 which runs out of water at about 5 am and starts cooking the dehumidifier vessel, off-gassing noxious fumes; it's a piece of toxic crap, the Dream Station does not have this problem. Any suggestions? Excellent very helpful presentation.
The only thing I think might help would be to either turn down your humidification setting, or get a heated hose if you don't already have one. I find I use a LOT less water with my AirSense 10 when I'm using the heated hose. On the other hand, it uses a lot more power.
@@AdventureswithCPAP Thanks so much for the advice, I'll try turning down the humidifier first.
Philips slogan : Lets make better things (or just the other way round)
I did the recall and they sent me the same initial machine. I never got the dream station 2. Then I started seeing lots of negative reviews. And I thought well maybe i'm better off I don't know. That looks really cheap. Water would not an issue as I keep my distilled water at bedside. Too bad about Oscar. From what I have been told, the foam replaced is different.
Now we find out it might burn down your house.
I'll be calling the recall tomorrow to ask to get the dreamstation 1 if possible.
My DME sent me this, my first PAP device. I actually like it fine. The biggest issue for me is the data encryption. I want my data dammit.
I’m so sorry. 😞
The last I saw, the OSCAR team said they don’t think the encryption is uncrackable, but it’s proving to be a difficult task. Do you, by chance, use an Android phone? If so, they’re looking for testers to side load an app to intercept data sent directly from the DS2 to DreamMapper in hopes that’ll give them some insight into the encryption.

Amazing review. Thankyou
Inability to access my own data is a deal breaker for me.
Philips needs to get a clue.
I get my data through the mobile app
I like the dreamstation 1 better. I had fewer problems with it that dreamstation 2.
It also lacks a auto humidifier so sore throats are back which I didn’t have with the ds1
I like the DreamStation 2. I do use a bacterial filter inline until I can get the foam removed though.
Black is good a feature ? I've used both the 1 and 2 ....I like the 2 a lot better ....Just say'in
Whatever works for you, man. As long as you're getting the therapy and support you need, that's all that matters.
Is the plastic PBA free?
They turn off Airplane mode on the sly and don't bother turning it back on. Fooking evil.
It was the old dream station that had the foam issue now the new dreamstation 2 featured here.
Well, that was sort of a downer
I mean, I hope the preview image was fair warning that this wasn’t gonna be a feel-good romp. 🤣

Hi Dennis. I’m looking forward to your version of an instructional video of Oscar.
Third-party testing indicates unsafe -- and wildly inconsistent -- levels of formaldehyde coming from the new foam.
After 5 years, the motors Inside the machines start to degrade and cannot run as fast and hard as needed! So YES IT MATTERZ! If it’s 5 years and older, time for a new machine
This was literally her first CPAP. And I've only been on CPAP since February. So neither of us has hit the five-year mark yet.

Disagree. It’s a great little machine
Dreamstation 1 was soooo much better designed than this POS, why couldn't they just put approved foam in it or leave all the foam out!!
Then all the foamaphobes would be suggesting that the now-empty chamber was more than likely offgassing toxic chemicals-- without a bit of evidence of such. But nevermind the masks or hoses themselves possibly offgassing....
So spot on!!!!!!!

Was recallad back in September of last year and I have just got this one in November last year it will turn on but when I turn on the Rehab button it will automatically turn off and reset load back up and reset then will go blank but the blue light will flash it's like the Xbox when it get a #RedEyeOfDeathxbox
This will be my Second night to not be able to use it
That sounds like it *might* be a power supply problem! I can’t be sure, of course, but that’s the first thing I would try. Do you have a spare? If not, I’ve had good success using this brand: amzn.to/3qDZgnP
Thank you, I will try the other power cord from the dreamstation that was recallad
It is because of a 30 Day out of the Box Failure
Its definitely a PIECE OF CRAP
The screen is dismal to use
a lot of small potatoes is this abour oscar or dreamstation 2 yes water chamber sucks
Its fine and down what it need to better then my old one
All true!
Don't use the humidifier
Don’t tell me what to do.
@@AdventureswithCPAP right???!!!! who in the world wants dry air blowing in????
Works great for me.
Dude, you need a nap.
That’s a true story.
This machine works great and is easy to use, especially with the app. This review is trash. Whats your angle here?
This machine doesn't work great, the humidifier is trash, the build quality is crap, the design is stupid, and the app is useless. Your comment is trash. Why are you defending a multinational corporation that put your life at risk? How much are they paying you?
Too snarky and condescending ... couldn't make it through the entire video.
🤷 Different horses for different courses. Sorry it's not to your satisfaction.
@@AdventureswithCPAP I sincerely appreciate an honest and straightforward review and critique -- especially in light of the mess Philips is in, but ... this was over the top.
@@ranger2316 Sorry I'm not your jam, but the truth of the matter is, I'm too old to change my ways at this point. If I'm too over-the-top for you, I also recommend ruclips.net/user/Freecpapadvice and ruclips.net/user/cpapreviews. Jason and Nick are old pros at this, and a lot less likely to get their fur rankled.
@@AdventureswithCPAP And I'm too old to listen to. and put up, with someone who can't simply articulate and describe his/her observations in a professional and straightforward manner. Your impressions and observations were great, your delivery methods were not.
@@ranger2316 I get that. What I'm trying to tell you is that I'm not going to change anytime soon, so I don't want to waste your time here. I'm a rascal. Always have been. And I have next to no filter.
Everything I feel, I feel it hard. And I express it as such. Thanks for dropping by and telling me how much I suck, but the fact of the matter is, I'm who I am, and although I'm not to everyone's taste -- and fully acknowledge that -- I stated from the giddy-up that I made this channel as an *alternative* to the professionals in the field making great content on RUclips. If you're looking for professionalism, you ain't gonna find it here. Not now, not ever.
Get a F&P machine.
Don’t tell me what to do.
the 1 is smaller. Who needs the water reservoir anyway? There is nothing better about the 2.
I need the water reservoir. If I don't use it, I get nasty nosebleeds, not to mention mouth leaks. I cannot keep my mouth closed without the humidifier.
I go through an entire reservoir in eight hours. Usually what wakes me up is the air drying out.
