I Tried to Drain-Weasel My Dad's DreamStation CPAP. It Didn't Go Well
My dad asked me if I would Drain Weasel his DreamStation so he can use it as a backup. And... well, it didn't go as planned.
If you're not familiar with the Drain Weasel method of de-foaming the DS1, I learned about it from Howard Morland's RUclips channel, so be sure to give him a visit and all due credit:
ruclips.net/video/b6t-ws_Sn2A/видео.html&ab_channel=HowardMorland
If you want to try Drain Weaseling your own DreamStation, you can find the product on Amazon: amzn.to/3oTguwo
Or if you want to skip the dirty work and just buy an empty, foam-free motor housing, you can get those, too: amzn.to/3dLPg4L

After two additional surgeries to try and repair my anal fistula, I'm back at square one. So it's going to be a while before I can sit down and record the sorts of CPAP advice videos I normally make. Heck, I'll be fortunate if I can sit again by Christmas. But I wanted to show y'all this ingenious little CPAP hack that a member of the CPAP Reviews Facebook page whipped up. 5 Things I Wish I'd Known About CPAP Masks from the Get-Go

I'm still getting the hang of this whole CPAP thing, but in the six months since I started therapy, I've learned SO MUCH about masks that I wish someone had told me before I started a symbiotic relationship with one. I am just starting on CPAP, and seem to be getting used to the mask. I feel more alert already. Tell me - 3 years on from this recording, has your inflammation stayed under control?

Recently been prescribed a CPAP. I have not even received it yet. Thank you for sharing your experience!!! Funny thing is for years instead of sniffing I would press my tongue against the roof of my mouth like your Mu? technique and swallow hard. The motion creates a vacuum clearing off my soft palate. It keeps my sinuses open and keeps me from sniffing crap in my lungs creating Bronchitis then coughing it up in my sinuses creating a sinus infection. I tried the Mu? technique while watching, just a bit of vacuum to hold the tongue in place. Wow, this to my wife’s pleasure kept my mouth shut. I don’t need to be sleeping to snore but this kept my tongue from sliding backwards. Again thank you for sharing your experience!

As far as your butt goes... you have better Oxygenation with the CPAP which promotes healing. Your tissues (not the toilet tissues, body tissue, dermas, muscle and so on) are perfused better. the worst part, IMO is the inner workings. The channel the air goes through is stuff for about 6-8 inches fully with foam. Foam that has been shown to have dangerous levels of formaldehyde under normal use, much less when air your breathing for 8 hours a day is being forced through it.

thanks for the video good advice. I had a bit more support than you got from the CPAP dealer - and they switched out my mask from full to nasal pillow...but I was lucky my husband had been through the whole process the year before. I did find I had to spend my money to experiment on masks - I love the Resmed F40 - but my pressures made it leak. So I'm back to the Resmed full mask - and hoping I can learn the mouth closing routine...the pressures (which I am working on adjusting) just make me wake up to farting sounds coming from my masks. As least with the full mask I can sleep even though it's not a pleasure to wear like the nasal pillow bull mask combo. Good luck to everyone on this journey...
