John, I went to China and I never felt so safe in my life. I went out shopping in Beijing and Shanghai at 3:00am and I was surprised at the number of single people, including young women, walking around with ease. I went to USA and I felt nervous. There was NO WAY I'd go out in LA or NYC after Midnight. And I was warned by many NOT to go to certain suburbs, even during the day. In USA, Citizens carry guns and there are 40,000 Gun related deaths EVERY year in USA. Virtually Zero gun related deaths EVERY year in China, Australia, and every other developed Country in the World. China is far more safer to visit than USA. And the citizens of China were extremely welcoming, respectful, and helpful. In USA you needed to be very careful who you approached. There were too many ANGRY citizens in US.Whether you call China a communist or socialist state it is undeniably a country putting the common good of a community first. Thus the Central and regional governments will planned, invested and installed whatever facility to improve the lives of the citizens in the community.

Agree with you strongly! I live in the west coast right next to LA county, called Riverside county. Few years back, I was looking forward to investing some low to mid priced range real estate property near Riverside, my broker told me specifically don’t waste my fortune invest any places near city of Moreno because no pizza home deliverers want to jeopardize their lives to going down there for a $10 pizza for you, he actually meant that area rob at gun point at pizza deliverers all the time for hard cash!!😅

The world has surely changed in the last decades: The US is no longer that beacon of democracy and freedom we used to know and admire; it is now a toxic plutocracy in serious decline and practically at war with itself. It is quickly losing the world's respect due to its exports of toxic social and cultural experiments such as wokeism, cancel culture, critical race theory, identity politics, etc., etc.
At the same time, the Chinese communists have also evolved and remain communist in name only, having co-opted their former ideological enemy, free market capitalism, as their primary economic tool, while implementing technocratic meritocracy to get great things done.
While most people in the US governing elite are lawyers, in China they are engineers. What does this tell you? That the US will keep arguing about the future, while China will keep building it.

My personal opinion. Simply put, the United States values individual interests, so the United States is a paradise for the rich because they can extract wealth from the poor through all the resources they control that are necessary for human survival. In the United States, it is impossible for poor people to starve to death, but it is almost impossible to enter the wealthy class. As a result, most of the wealthiest people in America come from families that have been around for hundreds of years. China attaches great importance to collective interests and does not exclude the rich, but is more concerned about whether the lives of the poor are guaranteed and improved. Therefore, Chinese state-owned enterprises control energy, public transportation, hospitals, schools, banks, food and other areas necessary for human survival. Their pricing is not aimed at high profits. They are more concerned about whether the poor can afford it. So you can find that they are still building high-speed rail for remote areas, knowing that they will lose money, just to allow people and goods there to reach all parts of the country equally conveniently, develop their economy, and give them a chance. A chance to change your own destiny. Use the profits from building high-speed rail in wealthy areas to subsidize the losses in these areas, and examine the feasibility of the high-speed rail system from a national perspective.

Totally concur with you, mate. Been both to China and USA. There is no comparison. Generally, people a fitter, happier, freer in China. In USA, too many people are obese, angry, and carry guns out of fear. I could walk anywhere in China. I was constantly warned in USA of suburbs not to go to.
Nightlife in China in the early mornings where vibrant, and a pleasure to shop around. In USA, forget it ... your risk of being robbed, bashed, or killed increases significantly in the passed midnight strolls.
There is too much hatred amongst Civilians in USA ... all because the USA government ignores their basic needs, such as great Civic Infrastructures, or even a decent affordable Health Care. USA is driven by Corporate Greed, who don't know when to STOP hoarding USA's money.
I mean, Jeff Bezos, a classic example of pure greed. He spend multi billions of dollars he has spare, with nothing else to buy, to build a Rocket Ship so that he, his family and friends to go on an 8-minute JOY RIDE into orbit. And then ... he does it a second time. With all that spare billions he has, he could have: (1) built High Spreed Rail system throughout USA' (2) paid off every student debt in USA, release the young Adults to live a good life as a reward to their studies; (3) made Basic Health Care affordable for EVERY USA citizen, etc. 340 million of his own people could have had their lives improved. I am UK-born and live in UK. Its good to see these honest views about the US. As far as I can see (and Ive been to US many times and China twice) the US exists in a state of fear. People are afraid of others because of potential violence. The US also exports this in its international actions and policies. Along with the fear goes individualism and its attendant violence. The paradigm on which US society is based (all the amendments etc. ) is just wrong. It probably stems from its history of colonial-settlerism. US is sick. Lets hope the US doesnt take the rest of the world down with it. No country is great - thats a stupid way to think.

However, some of the claims you made about the US aren't accurate. Polarization is in the media, it's not a problem between individuals and most groups of people. Family life is strong in much of America. My relatives, who mostly live in rural America, still have the same strong family connections. Nah, not true. More than that for sure. The requirements vary per situation. Some get them based on marriage and x amount of time in country. From what I’ve heard some have been able to get them within a year and others have needed 5 years to meet the requirements.

Actually, it's not a blockade, Xi cybersecurity engineers will tell you the answer, for some reason, media outlets such as Google and Twitter are reluctant to keep the database China, these media have been in the hands of the West and the United States, controlling public opinion, so they left themselves, we can use VPNs to prove that there is no blocking, from a professional point of view, we can still access some websites, we don't need VPNs, foreign lies are just that, really good network security engineers don't have time to check your thoughts, There are about 5,000 of them in a few years around the world, and they're all busy making money, you know, a lot of things need professional knowledge, otherwise you need to experience it yourself, it's just a trick to deceive people

PRC and ROC have been in civil war since 1945 - it ain't "impending" :). It's on-hold and the only reason it will re-start is when (1) Taiwan abandon the ROC constitution and declare independence, or (2) foreign military occupation. This is clearly declared decades ago so stop beating around the bush and act ignorant. Chinese don't have different opinions from 99% of the world - including your own government, recognizing PRC as the representative of the Chinese nation, including sovereignty over Taiwan. Ask your government, does it recognize Taiwan as a country and have diplomatic tie with it? Check with the UN too while you are at it.
So, if you are a guest in China, you intend to wave a flag supporting Taiwan independence, adding some spice to your vacation? LoL. My recommendation - don't do it. If the government wouldn't kick you out, the mob in the street will kick your ass. What a tool you are to even asked this question. It;'s like some Chinese dude vacationing in the US and handing out fliers in the street to support 911.
By the way, hundred of thousands of Taiwanese permanently live on the mainland, FYI. It seems that THEY themselves don't have any issue, but you as an outsider do have an issue.

@@viewpointabroad USA was once a great country and still is now, except that it is in the decline. If your forefathers could build a great country, why couldn't you make it better or maintain it at the least. Please don't forget that China was once in poverty not so long ago, so if they could work hard to build a great nation in such a short time, why can't the Americans do the same, especially when you have the democracy that Americans are so proud of. If everyone knows the problems but nobody is willing to find any solutions and do something about them, then forever you will be standing still. China and other Asian countries have their mouthful of problems to solve, the last thing they need is Americans flocking to their countries. Americans need to find your own path forward, not by denying other countries their progress, but to solve the fundamental issues in your system and become an even better nation.

What Human Rights in USA? There are 170 Million USA citizens who are criminalised if they don't let the government control their bodies, just because they're women. One 10 year old girl, who was raped a few months ago, wanted to terminate her pregnancy, but was going to be criminalised by the State Government. So the parents rushed her to another state who did perform the abortion. Now the local Government are going after the Doctors and Nurses who were involved in the abortion.
The poor abused Native Hawaiians want their island of Hawaii back, because it was stolen by USA, who throw out their Queen. In the 1970s USA made Hawaii a state of USA throw a majority vote. The Native Hawaiians voted NO, but the vote was lost, because the majority were from Ethnic Hawaiians. Now the Native Hawaiians are forced off their island and move to cheap inland stated (but they're a sea bearing culture). Why? Because the native Hawaiians can't afford to buy their own land in Hawaii, and the little they have, they can't afford the maintenance costs.
Mexicans, Black americans, latino's are all treated as 2nd rate citizens with very little rights.

Well according to America and most of the world they still refer to the one China policy which says Taiwan isn’t an independent country but a self governing province of China 🇨🇳 So if you’re American or British or whatever not then likely your government follows the 1 China policy.

Btw Taiwan is not a country, it’s a province of China. Though generally the people there is friendly enough, the government is kinda goofed up, eg. during covid pandemic, it delayed securing vaccines from overseas, even the needed masks and covid test kits were very expensive and hard to come by, and recently the place also suffered from shortage of eggs due to the government’s blunder.
