Zaatar is not just a seasoning, we pour a good handful of zaatar in a small bowl, and another bowl with olive oil, we take a small piece of pita bread and we dip it in olive oil first and then zaatar!!! It's amazing
For the record, beet juice with stuff like apples, lemons & ginger mixed in is SO good. I hate myself for how much I love it! It brings me so much joy.
Every time I have beets I like them a bit more... a lot more even, esp in smoothies and desserts. But also just baked in the oven in a casserole is good. Or I've had lovely salads with beets. Both Red and Gold beets are lovely but I've discovered canned and jarred beets don't just have the red intensity that fresh ones do... and for many dishes the red is the biggest part of the magic.
My trick for getting rid of hiccups: big gulp of water, but bend over at the waist and swallow while bent over. Usually by the 2nd or 3rd swallow the hiccups are gone!
The coffee science is so interesting. My mom was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease a couple years ago but recently her doctor told her that she needs to change her diet. When I was researching I was surprised to see that the recommendations said to drink 3 cups of coffee a day!
I had to cut down my caffeine intake, so I now drink decaf most of the day. While I used to shit-talk decaf drinkers when I was younger... I am SO GLAD it exists! I still get to have the delicious flavour & antioxidants from coffee. 💕
Wow, I was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and my doctor said that coffee is forbidden for me 🤔 I didn't drink it anyway so I can't say it was a loss, but if it helps I can start to. Need to google it
I'm watching this while I work, and I can't tell you how hard I laughed when I realized that we were no longer talking about nutrition and Abbey was on this hiccupping tangent about what to do if you lose a limb.
Could you try Anna Wintour's diet next??? Apparently, her diet consists of salmon and eggs for breakfast and for lunch, she eats a steak or ground beef patty and a Caprese salad without tomato.
A bit off topic but if you ever accidentally chop off a finger do not put it directly on ice or even in the freezer. It will damage the tissue and might not be suitable to be sewn back on. Better put it in a bag and wrap it in a cloth an then add cold
Hi, Abbey. Fellow dietitian here. I know it's not that big of a deal, but would tofu in place of feta in the salad make the whole thing for a slightly better iron source? Since calcium in the dairy competes with iron for absorption. Again, I guess it's minute. Anyway, I actually wanted to comment on the beet juice more than anything else. I have drank beet juice as a teen a lot (loved the taste), but IT HAS TO BE FRESHLY pressed, otherwise it's yuk. My favorite way is to add one beet, one carrot and one apple to the juicer and it's heaven with this frothy foam on top. Try it if you have a chance. I am sure you'll have a totally different opinion on the beets. Yes, of course juice is lacking fiber and I know by itself it's not going to curb any real craving for food. But it's just soooo delicious! Also, turmeric can add an earthy flavor. But regardless. Never canned, jarred, pasteurized - only freshly made before drinking, and you will love it I am sure.
I love yogurt bowls for a lazy breakfast. My go to is frozen blueberries thawed with whole milk greek yogurt, hemp hearts, granola, pumpkin seeds, honey, and maybe some cocoa nibs if I'm feeling it. Now I want a salad for lunch tomorrow.
I can confirm this!! I feel like maybe because its so thick and takes more effort to swallow it forces the muscles to stop doing whatever they are doing when you hiccup??

Yup that video was surrounded with controversy based on its content alone for good reason. Felt off-putting to casually mention (especially on a channel combating negative female self image in diet culture) that the husband was obsessed with the video as if that's just a cool folksy dude stuff we should all accept as normal and relatable. Maybe that remark needs a little more context or acknowledgement of the problems surrounding the video.
I can’t believe there aren’t more comments mentioning this. The song and video are SO problematic (not to mention the s/a), and just casually mentioning that “her husband was obsessed with it” is really off putting and concerning.
Abby, for the record « Zaatar » isn’t a Middle Eastern seasoning, it’s a mix of dried zaatar, aka thym, with sesame seeds and sumac from the region of Lebanon and Syria and it’s actually more than a seasoning: we mix it with olive oil and can be used on top of labneh or other cheeses or sandwiches or manoushe And it feels a tiny bit offensive to reduce something that’s part of someone’s culture (in this case mine as I’m Lebanese) to Middle Eastern seasoning
To be fair, if you pause the video it says middle eastern seasoning on the right side of the jar. She was reading the product description from the label. I really appreciate knowing a bit of extra information about Zaatar now! Sounds delicious! I also wonder it might be worth directing some feedback toward the company regarding their marketing/branding. Since I know that for myself personally when I buy an ingredient that I'm not familiar with, I tend to read the label for information on where it's from and how to use it. I feel like it's quite a high expectation to place on consumers to fact-check the region on the label and find out the cultural importance of an ingredient before we use it.
Why do so many people not care about eating healthy when it's the most important thing we can do to fuel our bodies ? There so many choices of food too. 😋
Hiccups!! Bwaahaahaah!! Love the way you substitute ingredients depending on what is available, this salad looks divine! I am going to try it. Love zataar. Even just a sprinkle of sumac can liven things up.
I live in Socal where there is a juice spot on every corner. While it is not my jam in the winter time when it's cooler, in the summer beet juice with ginger or turmeric is all I crave. It usually has carrots and apples too. Sometimes oranges. It is DELICIOUS, so refreshing, and nothing like beet juice in a bottle. I usually drink it as a pick me up after a hike before I have lunch or alongside a protein/fiber rich salad or sandwich. I'm not usually one to defend "California eating" but the beet juice she's mentioning is legit and not just like a fad (looking at you celery juice). And I probably wouldn't drink it anywhere else other than Mexico. My favorite is from a mom and pop juice shop owned by a local Mexican family in my town. They call it jugo de vampiro. It's a thing in Mexico. You can even use it to make cocktails lol so maybe next time you're out here it's worth trying for real! :)

I am allergic to bananas but only developed this allergy in the past four or so years (a complete mystery). I can confirm that sticking to non-banana smoothies is a downgrade. Even if you try to make them a richer, thicker texture with sherbet or nut butters it just isn't the same.
I also developed an allergy to bananas. It happened during my second pregnancy. If you have a latex allergy this can happen. There are some fruits that cause a reaction if you are allergic to latex.

With Emily Raj, you seemed to add what amounted to a few hundred calories to her yogurt that she certainly didn’t list, including additional fruit and peanut butter. Could the additions you’re frequently adding to these meals (as I’ve noticed) be misleading? My guess is that these model thin (models) aren’t being nearly as honest as you think they are. Once you’ve added the ingredients that it takes to taste good to you, my guess is that you’ve far exceeded what they REALLY eat in a day….
Is it really eating like these celebs if the meals and snacks are customized? Also, were you playing a character who was talking to you off-camera? I was confused.
I don't think she'll do that as she's an intuitive eater and supports intuitive eating which means you choose what is the right position size of you and your body and you learn what works for you over time (it can also change from time to time..)

Hi! I was wondering if you could give some advice on weight loss for people who have gained weight due to medication/treatments/short-term routine/life upheavals. For example, I was always "ideal weight", ideal "BMI", or simply healthy and nourished. Some meds and situations have altered my appetite and habits and i've gained a substantial amount of weight in a short amount of time. My relationship with food is healthy, but dieting is hard, especially when (for reasons mentioned above) your primary goal isn't to lose weight. These models are just maintaining or losing a pound or two, I find no inspiration from their videos.
Hey Abby, I'm not sure you'll see this but just wanted you to know that you changed my life so much. I refer to you as my dietitian to everyone hahaha! Thank you so much, you are very much loved :)

I heard coffee is fine it’s just drinking it on empty stomach is what’s ehh. But everyone has their thing whatever that may be. For me it’s cheese and fries - I love them.
Granola or toast for breakfast were her first words; this model/actress probably remembers this meal from her childhood 😢 I don't believe a word she claims she eats. Well done, Abbey, for imagining what she could eat if she wanted to, but then she couldn't be a model/actress 🤷♀️
It is possible, many models eat yogurt with granola, that’s like their most eaten breakfast… and a piece of toast doesn’t bring you a lot of calories so that’s also possible. What would have been impossible would have been pastries or pancakes with bacon and syrup or hash browns or breakfast sandwiches with sausage cheese etc
I don't understand the view out your window. It looks more like early autumn and it's still light out at dinner time and at "night snack", at a time of year when sun sets at like 4:30 pm.
It would be nice to see actual photos of portions and what these Celebrities eat. We didn’t even see Emily’s breakfast. Your portion sizes, while delicious, are way more than the average woman can eat and maintain or lose weight and body fat. Please show what the subject eats before you show what you eat.
Bc she's demonstrating to you the HEALTHY amount, she's not trying to show you a crappy example. That wouldn't benefit people with eating disorders who are going to seek the exact measurements...

And it feels a tiny bit offensive to reduce something that’s part of someone’s culture (in this case mine as I’m Lebanese) to Middle Eastern seasoning
I really appreciate you writing this out, since i feel like people use it and just say Middle Eastern seasoning and leave it at that
To be fair, if you pause the video it says middle eastern seasoning on the right side of the jar.
@@alrighttumbleweed4782 Fully agreed. Everyone is offended by nothing intentional, now a days.
Is Lebanon not part of the middle east?
Why do so many people not care about eating healthy when it's the most important thing we can do to fuel our bodies ? There so many choices of food too. 😋
Hiccups!! Bwaahaahaah!! Love the way you substitute ingredients depending on what is available, this salad looks divine! I am going to try it. Love zataar. Even just a sprinkle of sumac can liven things up.
I went through a jar of sumac SO FAST, faster than my jar of Za’tar. It was good on literally everything that could use a little acidic or tarty kick
I feel like the title is wrong...
She definitely forgot to put the title and this was just a file name 😂
Hahaha everybody slips up occasionally, even perfectionists ❤
What did it say?
What did it say, help us out!
@@munchems the title was “Emrata V3 12 22” ☺️ she probably names them like this for better organisation
Abby, is it possible to edit out the eating sounds? I love your videos but I can’t watch ones like this where you’re eating a lot because the sounds trigger my misophonia. I feel so bad clicking off in the middle of a video
THIS! I can’t handle the eating sounds. Sends my misophonia over the edge.
Why not mute it?
just skip forward or mute it?
@@FIXON99 I did end up skipping through but it was like half the video. If I mute it, I can’t hear what Abby says. It’s not like I clicked on a mukbang video where it would be understandable for there to be eating sounds.
Try captions? I think in a video called “I Ate…’ it would be pretty reasonable to expect eating sounds.
Hickups (diafragm cramping) remedy: take a big breath and hold as long as you can before brething out and repeat until.
I am allergic to bananas but only developed this allergy in the past four or so years (a complete mystery). I can confirm that sticking to non-banana smoothies is a downgrade. Even if you try to make them a richer, thicker texture with sherbet or nut butters it just isn't the same.
Add avocado!! That’s my favourite
I also developed an allergy to bananas. It happened during my second pregnancy. If you have a latex allergy this can happen. There are some fruits that cause a reaction if you are allergic to latex.
@@leahkomishon1211will give this a try sometime 😊
I’d really love to see videos about Aggie Lal and Nikki Sharp. They are both self proclaimed diet experts. So I would love to see your opinion on their eating habits and what they’re both selling.
Also, I loved today’s video 😍
Thank you, I'll take a look
Watermelon and beets cold .. is the best juice ever... plus the pretty color... super recomend 😘
What a great idea to use the cap!?! So simple - why did I not think of this...
Love your videos. Emily is not an LA girl. She’s very New York as she lives there full time.
Hi Abbey! I love your videos!! What do you think about the gut health/parasite cleanse trend on TikTok?
this video made me laugh, because the exact same thing happened to me but the other way around
I had dinner at the table next to Lenny Kravitz’s once and there was no way I could focus on my date
I would've drooled so it sounds like you had it together pretty good.
Awesome video and the yogurt granola plus toast recipe looks so yummy!
Any chance you have or could do some content on trying to lose weight post-menopause??
Is it really eating like these celebs if the meals and snacks are customized? Also, were you playing a character who was talking to you off-camera? I was confused.
I was wondering about the Portion Sizes. Do you prepare the meal just for yourself?
Could you explain the Portion? Snack or meal.
Thank you
I don't think she'll do that as she's an intuitive eater and supports intuitive eating which means you choose what is the right position size of you and your body and you learn what works for you over time (it can also change from time to time..)
On month nine of no coffee or caffeine 😭😭😭😭 I miss it some days. but my energy and cortisol levels are so much better without it sadly.
Omg I’ve never been this early🎉
Hello Abbey hope you’re doing well!❤
For me a spoon of honey works magic with hiccups. Nothing else works and mine lasted for hours until I tried this tricks ;) Love your videos
I love the Poppy cameos. More Poppy please!
that looks like the kind of salad I would make! HCC for the win. poor abby and the hiccup drama. my sister grew up having the worst hiccups, but now I can't stop laughing if anybody has a hiccup attack. it's a bad habit. :)
Liberté!!!!! My fave!!!!! The coconut and the lemon are TO DIE FOR
I love Emily. Her book is great!
I recently tried adding roasted beats and chickpeas to my salads and surprisingly beats are delicious 🤤 😍
This is by far the funniest video you made so far😂
I would love for you to review Liezl Jayne!
Her vibe kills me I love it 😭🥰
Emrata video = 2 minutes Emrata footage + 23 minutes of Abby eating up mouthfuls of over priced ingredients
@@kates7277 the amount of dairy is disturbing.
That toast is my next breakfast! It looks delicious!
Such an awesome video, please review Julia Ayers, her recipies are so intriguing!
Hiccups...dissolve a pinch of salt or sugar or something bitter under the tongue
Hey Abby, I'm not sure you'll see this but just wanted you to know that you changed my life so much. I refer to you as my dietitian to everyone hahaha! Thank you so much, you are very much loved :)
I can drink black coffee if it is good coffee. My home coffee is good coffee. I can't put condensed milk in every cup. Oh no.... I try to keep that to dessert.
This channel is just entertainment don't take this seriously
I would absolutely love to hear your opinions about the Instagram user just ingredients! She’s huge here in Utah and sometimes I wonder if her claims are real and helpful or not.
Never heard of her, but there is definitely a unique culture of drifty "health" stuff in Utah.
@@BC-np8cb it’s the Wild West out here😂
I think you forgot your video title ;)
As a newly diagnosed diabetic, can I eat all this fruit or no?
Don't think I don't know how nice your kitchen is
"And then we're going to call the cops" dude I died
You have such nice cheek blush/brown, fits you very well!
I heard coffee is fine it’s just drinking it on empty stomach is what’s ehh. But everyone has their thing whatever that may be. For me it’s cheese and fries - I love them.
Fenomenal job, thanks super life changer nutritionist Lady
Glad you enjoyed it!
i love this comment
Please don't change the title, we all know it's cute and wrong 🥰😘🌻
And your hiccups! ❤️❤️❤️
Edit: original title "Emrata V3 12 22"
I always feel like I need more iron when I'm on my period. Somehow I think it will make me less lethargic.
Does the filter help with flouride?
Granola or toast for breakfast were her first words; this model/actress probably remembers this meal from her childhood 😢 I don't believe a word she claims she eats. Well done, Abbey, for imagining what she could eat if she wanted to, but then she couldn't be a model/actress 🤷♀️
It is possible, many models eat yogurt with granola, that’s like their most eaten breakfast… and a piece of toast doesn’t bring you a lot of calories so that’s also possible. What would have been impossible would have been pastries or pancakes with bacon and syrup or hash browns or breakfast sandwiches with sausage cheese etc
that salad was perfect
I don't understand the view out your window. It looks more like early autumn and it's still light out at dinner time and at "night snack", at a time of year when sun sets at like 4:30 pm.
Is there a reason abbey doesn't do red meat??
Tom yum is my fave too! The lemongrass is th e best aromatic
That looked like a yummy day. I haven’t had Thai food for a long time and I’m not sure you can get it where I live. 😿
Oh god. That salad looks so good. I shouldnt have watched this before sleeping. 😆❤️
My OCD was going crazy over the stray hair hanging down in the beginning of the video.😅 Sorry!! I love your videos so much!
Sometimes a big spoonful of peanut butter stops my hiccups. But sometimes it causes them.
LOVING that salad
It would be nice to see actual photos of portions and what these Celebrities eat. We didn’t even see Emily’s breakfast. Your portion sizes, while delicious, are way more than the average woman can eat and maintain or lose weight and body fat. Please show what the subject eats before you show what you eat.
Bc she's demonstrating to you the HEALTHY amount, she's not trying to show you a crappy example. That wouldn't benefit people with eating disorders who are going to seek the exact measurements...
PSA: If you have the hiccups, just swallow a mouthful of air. Don't inhale into the lungs. Swallow it like water. Literally instant relief
Loving the recent style of video. Loooove 🥰
Yay! Thank you!
Girl, that worst-case-scenario finger-loss plan! 🤣 I have never felt more seen by a RUclips video! Hashtag Anxiety Problems.
The video actually starts after 5 minutes…
That yoghurt bowl sounds so good, but I'm mega ultra lactose intoleraaaaaaant!! And mildly histamine intolerant, because even if I can save my gut w/ Lactaid, my allergies get way worse the day after dairy. Anyone have suggestions for a similarly nutritious & also tasty alternative? 😭
Dairy free yogurt would help.
Soy yoghurt, or cashew and almond based are also very nutritious. But coconut usually isn’t as rich in protein and vitamins
@@claire2278 Thank you for the recs! Coconut replacements for dairy taste so good, but I'm definitely most invested in getting the right nutrients. Add in some shredded coconut & I get the best of both worlds, hahah. 😉
