Years ago, one of my many, many failed attempts in dieting/weight loss, I tried the Dukan Diet,....before the first week, (and I'm talking 5 days, not 7), I was craving a basic salad so badly I thoroughly gave up. Hundreds of dollars wasted trying to commit to a diet that was going to work for me. Your HCC makes so much more sense nutritionally, financially and customizable. I enjoy both, but definitely both serve different purposes, and I would personally only use the patties on like a sandwich not as like a fried egg or a scramble it just doesn’t give the same effect as the liquid does for certain purposes ☺️
I love the idea of jackfruit as a protein source/meat substitute... but yeah, it doesn't have much protein and I feel I never get satiated while eating it. In my country, it's also ridiculously expensive. I stick to my soy proteins and beans. I'm going to buy some cabbage though!
Also I have a pro tip for those who make this style of enchilada, taco, or whatever, have a side of beans instead of trying to figure out some hack. It's fun to experiment, but it's not really necessary to reinvent the wheel.
Tip for making the salad dressing: go easy on the cashews. They make it sweet, but also thick and pasty if you have too many. The flavor was good but ours would have been better with like 1/8 cup of cashews. This is the downside of a recipe that has no measurements. I prefer to start with measurements and make it my own from there.
Those GIANT handfuls of both cashews and walnuts made me gasp! Waaay more than an entire day's serving just in that dressing. I'm not fat-phobic, but that's just a bit too much for one meal. On a side note: I'm not big on my salad swimming in dressing, so while the dressing sounded good, there's no way I would dump the entire blender full onto my one serving of salad! I know Abbey means well, but sometimes I think she goes too far in the other direction from restricting. You don't want to restrict, but it's also not necessary to go way overboard, either, just to prove you're not restricting!

I'm Puerto Rican and grew up eating plantains 😊 Just a note for anyone wanting to try sweet plantains - the ones Abbey used looked like unripe ones to me (the peel is green, texture is stiff and more like potatoes/starchy). When we eat them sweet (called maduros or amarillos) we wait for the peel to basically go black and yellow, that's when they're ripe/soft and the taste is much closer to bananas. When we fry them up unripe they're squished into a patty (tostones) and it's one of my favorite comfort foods 🤤.
I never understand people that judge us fat people for living ourselves. First, mind your business. Second, we are worthy of living ourselves at any size. People need to stop pretending they care about our health when really I just think they think fat people are less than.
i grew up not eating red meat (due to intolerance in the family) so it was chicken and turkey replacements but my momma hated cooking meat so we had a TON of meatless meals and to this day, i almost always choose tofu over anything else because the texture and taste is incredible. we also make jackfruit pulled pork sandos and they are amazing, i prefer it over regular pulled pork. i turned my meat and potatoes raised best friend / ex boyfriend into a man who can perfectly cook a tofu stir fry and now regularly eats plant based meals with no problem and no thought 😂 i do love a perfectly cooked steak but other than that, the less meat upbringing prevails!
I honestly don't think it's helpful to not distinguish the differences between being overweight and class 3 obese when talking about the relationship between weight and health, it just mystifies the (very real) health risks of obesity even more. Feel like it would have been better to leave that part out entirely instead of downplaying the health risks, that's the kind of sugar coating that kept me in denial about the impact my weight was having on my health
Totally agree. While I understand not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings but people should be allowed to say speak factually without being accused of some phobia. It’s not what you say but how you say it.
I was a size 4, ran every day, and my doctor told me I was obese...I was 120. it caused my eating disorder. I will never forget being a teen and being terrified to step on a scale

I watched a Lizzo tiny desk concert and cried! I grew up in a time where it was sooooo hard to feel worthy of living a full life when you don't fit the body standard. I aspire to her level of self love, beyond "body positivity" or whatever else she gets put on her.
She's a vegan n ppl think she eats fried chicken n bathes in gravy. Like leave her alone ! She loves herself ! Even if she looked like a victoria secret model, I still would love her.
@B she don't be eating that ! Lot of ppl are big doesn't mean they ain't healthy. I eat healthy n I have curves and a little meat on me but I can run faster then any skinny person out there. I love the gym n always active. Stop hating on ppl !! She loves herself n that has nothing to do with u so why does it bother you ?! Regardless she's beautiful and rich something u will never be
You can still over consume “healthy” foods, which Lizzo clearly does since even with her high level of movement she’s maintaining her unhealthily high weight
I love plantains, and I love Lizzo!! This video was great ☺️ it's ridiculous that people can't have a normal conversation about Lizzo without personal attacks or talking about her weight.

Whisk JUST egg with a splash of almond milk and add FreshJax tofu scramble mix. Then, microwave it in a bowl for 1 min 20 seconds. It becomes a fluffy, eggy, scramble. Perfect for a breakfast sandwich!

Great video f so many reasons. Shout out to a nutritionist respecting some delish vegan food. Thank Abby. Thanks Lizzo. Plantains. Always wondered what to do w them
I know, right?! Also, to flavour up plain potato chips, make a dipping sauce by mixing equal amounts of mayo (or egg free vegan mayo) and ketchup in a bowl (add some yellow mustard for tangyness) into a small bowl, this is called Golf Sauce in South America... delicious!
I love eating fruit for dessert instead of a classic dessert most days. Thank you for telling me I’m not part of the diet culture! Don’t get me wrong….I love I good chocolate chip cookie!!
We have coffee cups of this size (the red one in the beginning) in Europe, but also much smaller. Here, the red one is by no means "ridiculously small"... And nor are the smaller ones.
Yeah, I'm half Italian but when I went to Italy a few years back I wanted to try an espresso coffee... I laughed at the ridiculous tiny cup it came in, but when I took a sip I understood why; its strong as heck! 😂
Is there an official directory of registered dietitians? I'm seeing one now that only wants me to eat the foods on her list and under 1200 calories a day. I would...like a second opinion but I don't know where to start. I'm in the US.
Unfortunately Abby (and I!) Are are Canadian so I don't think she'd be able to speak closely to good sources, but I just did a quick Google search and the dietician directory website seems pretty solid!
Have you checked with your insurance company? Many companies offer a search of in-network providers that will even include things like RDs. Starting there is always a good idea because then you know they'll be in-network.
Wow, that's a crappy dietitian you're seeing! What State are you in? I'm in NZ but have worked with US clinicians in many states, so might be able to recommend one that subscribes to gentle nutrition.
Sometimes I just think that some people are just chubby or bigger and that's just their natural state and long as they're okay then it's nothing to worry about.
Love you Abby! And you are hilarious so many laugh out loud moments in this video! Love your sense of humour 🥰🥰. I love Lizzo! And have naturally been moving towards more plant based options so this is a super helpful video!!
Hey! Just to be clear, obesity is a definite indicator of poor health. Abbey and a lot of HAES activists jump around the issue by saying "it's not the sole indicator of health" but this is a logical fallacy that we call the 'red herring' fallacy. Just because it's not the sole indicator of health, doesnt mean weight is not one of the indicators of health, and using this kind of language is intended to mislead listeners. There are hundreds of studies showing obesity leads to conditions such as sleep apnea, diabetes, joint pain, cardiovascular disease, and countless others. They also say "you cannot assume someone is healthy or unhealthy from their size" and "skinny people can be unhealthy too". Again, these are intended to mislead you. Do not be tricked by wording. While you cannot assume someone is healthy or unhealthy if they have no obvious signs of disease (i.e a thin, fit person) you can know someone is healthy if they display obvious signs of disease (i.e obesity). There is no shame in being obese, but there is shame in lying to people and giving them inaccurate information about the health risks of obesity. People have the right to stay fat, but they must have the information so that that choice will be informed. It is disgusting that a registered dietician would lie to people like this and put their health at risk.
I think she is the most mentally healthy in the field of diet and her approach is very courageous, people should be inspired by her approach and not just focus on weight always
Couldnt agree more with your point about your body size does not indicate their fitness level 💯💯 I used to be obese when I was younger and won medals in mutliple sports yet I was always shamed as a lazy fat person at school and by my family. Thanks so much for making a point on this!! This is much needed 💯
I think your silliness and muttering to yourself is very Canadian. Reminds me of me and my friends being silly in high school in Ontario Not sure why lol
Can you do a video on Healthnut nutrition? She’s another Canadian RUclipsr like you, and it seems like she has a pretty healthy view on eating but would love to see your perspective. Thanks for your content!
Abbey I think your messaging around obesity could cause serious harm. People who are this big and remain healthy/fit throughout their lives are very rare, as are people who eat a normal diet and are as big as Lizzo is. This weight puts stress on the whole body, from heart to joints. We have to recognize that obesity can have serious complications and often does. Shame doesn't work but blank acceptance is just as damaging. When one of your close relatives is obese and ill because of it or even when it just worsens an existing condition such as heart failure like in my father's case, these woke word salads mean nothing. It's okay to say that being 100 pounds overweight is a health problem.
Very kind and fair statement of truth. The truth has become hateful to many people, but it does not change what is truth. It is not living or supportive to promote lies.
Yeah fuck the woman who actually has discipline and purpose in life other than eating, who has done something respectable. let's praise lizzo because we feel bad for her.
Why do people associate vegan with healthy? plant based protein is not the same as real meat. Sometimes vegan snacks can have way more calories than normal snacks. The key for a healthy diet is moderation and a eating a variety of foods. And of course limiting processed foods.
Abbey, another great video...and I would just like to say, peoples weight and what/how they eat is not so much a problem as the mindset of some of the people and the 'official Abbey Haters fanclub' in your comment section. Disgusting! Speaking of "concentration camps" and "put fat people on deserted islands"..and other horrific shaming comments. At least people with ED and/or too heavy or too thin have a solution. People with digusting and hateful hearts and minds..not so much, if at all. Someone's body is not my or anyone elses business but those with hate and intent to shame and bring others down are whats wrong with our world. Its very sad.
Why do "those people" have to say something at all?! They aren't commenting on the weather or their take on the Russian vs Ukrainian war... this is a human being we're talking about!

Abbey! I was so stressed at how long you let that cereal sit in milk before you ate it!!!
It probably didn’t get too soggy thanks to the protein powder lol. But I still prefer my cereal without any liquids.
I never understand people that judge us fat people for living ourselves. First, mind your business. Second, we are worthy of living ourselves at any size. People need to stop pretending they care about our health when really I just think they think fat people are less than.
I truly appreciate the dog acting as a spotter during her workout! 😂
i grew up not eating red meat (due to intolerance in the family) so it was chicken and turkey replacements but my momma hated cooking meat so we had a TON of meatless meals and to this day, i almost always choose tofu over anything else because the texture and taste is incredible. we also make jackfruit pulled pork sandos and they are amazing, i prefer it over regular pulled pork. i turned my meat and potatoes raised best friend / ex boyfriend into a man who can perfectly cook a tofu stir fry and now regularly eats plant based meals with no problem and no thought 😂 i do love a perfectly cooked steak but other than that, the less meat upbringing prevails!
I loved your story! But as someone with a diagnosed under active thyroid who loves tofu, I've had to wave goodbye to it 😢
the candle had me actually laughing out loud with a mouth full of food
The way I cracked up when you put the candle in your breakfast burrito… 😂😂
Dude I’m dying I love it 😂
😅😅
I honestly don't think it's helpful to not distinguish the differences between being overweight and class 3 obese when talking about the relationship between weight and health, it just mystifies the (very real) health risks of obesity even more. Feel like it would have been better to leave that part out entirely instead of downplaying the health risks, that's the kind of sugar coating that kept me in denial about the impact my weight was having on my health
That is very well put. I totally agree.
Totally agree. While I understand not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings but people should be allowed to say speak factually without being accused of some phobia. It’s not what you say but how you say it.
❤
There are no health risks caused by weight that aren't actually just caused by being treated worse by medical professionals.
@@Rose-jz6sx Can you clarify? I think you mean the medical industry worsens the health of obese people? I agree if that's what you're saying.
I was a size 4, ran every day, and my doctor told me I was obese...I was 120. it caused my eating disorder. I will never forget being a teen and being terrified to step on a scale
Was your Doctor ill themselves? Cuz wtf
Unless u were like 4ft tall that's Bs
Bullshit
Abbey I've been watching you for a few years now, but I have to say, your recent editing choices/ multiple locations/ laid back talking is really REALLY a hit for me! I loved your vids before, when you sat face on in your old kitchen, but these videos are soooo dynamic and fun to watch. Also, love your stripped back chatting during the cooking parts. Great work and props to you and your team! :)
This is some of the most delicious food I’ve seen on the channel, amazing!!
Omg yes - I need to try this take on plantains!
🥰
Regardless she's beautiful and rich something u will never be
being obese is dangerous causing serious damage to her health
You can still over consume “healthy” foods, which Lizzo clearly does since even with her high level of movement she’s maintaining her unhealthily high weight
@@B_27 I should just to piss u off
@Tay she don't eat unhealthy
Abby's Cereal Cost = $48.41😢 (Walmart) blueberries & raspberries 5.74, Equate plant protein 17.44, hemp harts 10.97, Chrispx 4.98, Ripple & Puffins (wegmans) 9.28.
These are thing u can make multiple meals from it
My Dominican dad would always make that dessert. So good. I like to add milk and eat the plantains like cereal
Genius!
I've said it before & I'll say it again: I LOVE your editor 😄
I haven’t seen Abbey in a while but I am really enjoying this new style! So lively and fun 🤩
I love the improvised "toothpick" and that you lit it for the plating.... 🤣🤣🤣 Also, the sweet in the dressing was probably from the rice wine vinegar.
I loved poppy spotting you during your workout. 😂😂😂
I love plantains, and I love Lizzo!! This video was great ☺️ it's ridiculous that people can't have a normal conversation about Lizzo without personal attacks or talking about her weight.
Great video Abbey. Would love to see you eat like Priyanka Chopra for the day!
Im good at pushing through when things get tough. I recently got diagnosed with RA, and am just getting back into working out after a year not doing it. I know its possible, and I just dealt with a yeat of joint pain before getting a diagnosis. I am good at pushing through when life doesnt go as planned
If you handled the BMI topic well, maybe you can address perimenopause nutrition...
Whisk JUST egg with a splash of almond milk and add FreshJax tofu scramble mix. Then, microwave it in a bowl for 1 min 20 seconds. It becomes a fluffy, eggy, scramble. Perfect for a breakfast sandwich!
I was feeling bad about how weird my dinner is (trying to make it balanced) and the candle toothpick has made me laugh and feel better about my own patchwork dinner 😂
The candle made me laugh way harder than I should have!
You think Lizzo was fast in listing the green goddess dressing ingredients? Try baked by Mellissa's version who I'm pretty sure started the trend. Had to listen to that narration 30 times! LOL!
Lizzo is vegan thats so dope I love her now I never had an opinion of her before I never knew who she was I love vegans
We love Lizzo here
Great video f so many reasons. Shout out to a nutritionist respecting some delish vegan food. Thank Abby. Thanks Lizzo. Plantains. Always wondered what to do w them
I never thought of MIXING CEREAL?! This changes everyting...
@@frankiefavero1666 Tru!!
Loved this episode, so fun and creative! It makes me want to try vegan recipes
Love the jusy egg Pattie’s but always make them in the oven with some black pepper just yum!
LOVE Abbey’s salad comments. ‘Diet culture doesn’t own salad’ YES!! 😍
I'm confused..lizzo is very overweight. How is her diet healthy and why is it being recommended?
Not you lighting the candle tho lmaooo. I love it 😂😂😂
Is there an official directory of registered dietitians?
This salad looks bomb. And it looks easy to make which I love
Sometimes I just think that some people are just chubby or bigger and that's just their natural state and long as they're okay then it's nothing to worry about.
220 and under, yeah
And also like, some people like food and want to prioritise that over how they look, that's okay too! Bodies are morally neutral.

Dude, this was LIT. Thank you!! 🙌🏻🥰🫶🏻
That "fruit cereal" makes me chuckle every time 😅
Love you Abby! And you are hilarious so many laugh out loud moments in this video! Love your sense of humour 🥰🥰. I love Lizzo! And have naturally been moving towards more plant based options so this is a super helpful video!!
The salad making and the chips cracking part of this video was so chaotic 😂
what your body can do is much more important than how it looks
5:18 That "Nature's Cereal" Looks Like Art Without Ice Cubes.
Girl you really need to put these videos that you refer to in the description or something because I can't find any of them.
Thank you and we'll said 👏👏
Absolutely ignorant.
@@lavenderoh how about providing rational, logical responses from your point of view instead of vague insults?
Great comment, thanks!
I love Lizzo . . unrelated, Abbey please tell me you are going to review the new Rob Lowe /HB what I eat in a day!
I think she is the most mentally healthy in the field of diet and her approach is very courageous, people should be inspired by her approach and not just focus on weight always
Couldnt agree more with your point about your body size does not indicate their fitness level 💯💯
I used to be obese when I was younger and won medals in mutliple sports yet I was always shamed as a lazy fat person at school and by my family. Thanks so much for making a point on this!! This is much needed 💯
I’m rolling because of the birthday candle😂😂😂
The lit candle in the egg made me laugh so hard
"Aint nobody got time for that!" bit 🤣🤣🤣😂😄😁
thumbs up because you actually lit the candle lol
I think your silliness and muttering to yourself is very Canadian. Reminds me of me and my friends being silly in high school in Ontario
Not sure why lol
Can you do a video on Healthnut nutrition? She’s another Canadian RUclipsr like you, and it seems like she has a pretty healthy view on eating but would love to see your perspective. Thanks for your content!
Oh the candle holding the wrap had me creased 😂
The candle 😂. Love this!
@@B_27 Seriously! Agreed.
Nobody is advocating for blank acceptance. Only if you could understand the intricacy at play here
The birthday candle in the wrap 😂😂😂
How is Jillian Michael's still a thing?! I love Lizzo food tiktoks!
YUM makin’ those enchiladas tonight 😍 hopefully they turn out as good as yours haha totally winging this 🥴 wish me luck!
Abbey is the kind of chaotic that just screams Sagittarius. Turns out we share the same birthday. I know a sag when I see one. 😂
Oh, my goodness! The birthday candle was hilarious.
I am dead that at the birthday candle 🤣🤣
Why do you take the stems off of your spinach before blending it? 🤔🤔🤔
Sometimes they can be a bit bitter or stringy so some people remove them.
I’d love to see you recreate a 1950s diet.
More historical diet content
Oh so much sugar
Its very sad.
the candle killed me!!! lmao awesome
Lizzos got the talent!
When she pulled out the “ridiculously small coffee mug” i was NOT prepared as an european lol.
OH 2 minutes ago not 2 months ago
Lol
Those people are telling the truth that she is obese. That doesn't mean she is bad, just obese . Doesn't mean people are fat phobic.
Why do "those people" have to say something at all?! They aren't commenting on the weather or their take on the Russian vs Ukrainian war... this is a human being we're talking about!
