I think it would’ve been cool if there was an Easter egg in the game where if the player makes snake eats so much of the local wildlife, the Russian officers send a report out to troops in the game warning that there may be a dangerous predator in the area or that the area may be home to a yeti due to all the reports of dead half eaten animals being found by patrols.

Yeah and it doesn't factor in preparation at all. But it's probably based on aggregate reviews of the most basic servings. Most people think lobster tastes pretty good simply boiled, for example.

This game was one of the most realistic games when it came to food, certain food snakes likes and dislikes, the more he eats food he likes, he gets tired of them and if he eats food he doesn't like constantly, he will get use to the taste.

I can really appreciate why Snake likes eating snakes so much, except for the Milk Snake. It's because, at the beginning of the game, Snake already mentioned that he's already used to eating snakes in survival training. I love the conversation on the coral snake because of the silhouette of snake falling asleep during Para-medic’s waffle, which then he wakes up as she naturally mentions ‘snake’. It’s a really nice touch

When I played this game I didn't even know there was this much animals and fruits in the game and the fact that they even go into detail about it and the conversations between snake and her get more and more interesting its just amazing and makes me wanna play it again.

They could actually use that in schools for biology.... These details made games like MGS3 so great and funny.
THis is very bad idea, because a lot of food found in MGS doesn't even exists.
Czesnek Of course not in real life. It just points out how detailed these games are. They actually created nice details back then. Sure, not everything exists but even the fantasy stuff is basically a how to develop nice game mechanics. Not just food, details in general.
It'll teach students what it taste like.
I think the idea was letting students roam a virtual environment encountering animals, and then having witty and informative dialogues like like these.
(With some adjustments to account for the artistic license taken by the game)

For its humor, its cleverness and atmosphere, not to mention its glorious characters, this game is still my favourite in the series. Gotta love it. Its only flaw being that it was too short. Would've enjoyed ten more hours of jungle exploration.

The fly agaric ( amanita muscaria) has a very distinct nutty taste!! & It actually isn't toxic when correctly identified and prepared. The mushroom has to be decarboxylated to turn the ibotenic acid into muskimol which curbs the toxic like stomach effects. While the mushroom doesn't really make you trip, it lead to some very interesting spiritual states and alot of people report a very lucid dream like state when they sleep after it. Though be highly careful as if misidentified you could eat the death angel or one of the many other amanita which are not edible, and highly deadly!! And if your amanita muscaria are not prepared right you could end up with a really bad stomach ache/ nausea!! This shroom also tends to bring anything you let sit on your consiouss too long into your thoughts again. Very interesting for sure. Be safe and do your research for anyone who finds this interesting!

This Snake is the best Snake protagonist. So damn funny in a game that’s supposed to be serious.
