During the first mission...... Snake has to capture a Russian Interpertor first, This is a subtle hints at Venom Snake's true identity.... Since Big Boss can speak fluent Russian
Well that's if you didn't bother interrogating any Soviet soldier before getting the interpreter. If you do that Ocelot will say that because of the shrapnel in your skull it's messed with your brain and thus doesn't know Russian.
I sort of thought of that too, but Ocelot said the shrapnel makes it so he can’t remember those languages. Seeing as Big Boss (Jack) was originally a green beret before he worked with FOX, it’d be same to assume he knew many languages, as green beret are trained to work with ally countries to train their soldiers and assist in development.

Major Spoilers would have been a sentient racecar built by either the Patriots or Mother Base's R&D team. Probably powered by some A.I. core with a tragic backstory.
A peculiar note: the Russian CP speaks perfect Russian, while (most) Russian soldiers are voiced by someone who is very obviously not a native speaker.
When Snake is in the ACC at night or during rain, the reflection you can see when you look into the window is the Medic you made. From Japan, forgive my poor English.
one of my favorite details is how on the base development platform at mother base, the platform kaz is assigned to, all of the staircases are replaced with ramps so he can walk to higher levels of the facility using his cane.
I don’t know if someone’s posted this yet, but at 6:16 - the reason the game inverts your control when you don’t look up is because it’s secretly checking to see if you want inverted controls - whichever way you press on the stick, it sets that as your “up”
I think you may have missed one! When you first control Venom when he gets out of the hospital bed, you can see into the room where Ishmael was waiting. There are white lillies everywhere. It potentially gives away his true identity to those who have played Snake Eater. I hope this helps.

That's basic First Aid At least in Germany it's mandatory to take a course so you can make your driver's license. you need to take one in first aid in case you're the first to arrive to an accident. And this is one of the things you need to do to pass the course

its crazy that MGSV is still on par with modern games even after several years of non-major updates. MGSV was truly ahead of its time and to some extent still is ahead of the times. I want this level of experience in every game but nobody is willing to dedicate to their games like Hideo Kojima did.
I'be been playing other open world stealth games, like Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and even though I love it, omg MGS V has so many details. I do think the AI from BP can accomplish better things, but the way the world changes on MGS, and how you can break enemy communications etc is so unique.
@@MemoriesLP do you mean that the AI in breakpoint is better or they should do better? If so the first then you should know that BP came out AFTER mgs5 so of course they can make improvements and add more stuff to since they see what mgs5 did and do more to it.
43:50 yeah that is one of the coolest ones. I remember one of the infected was a female soldier that always was patrolling near Quiet's cell, I used to go there to listen to the music while doing some management stuff on the Idroid before I found all the music tapes and i liked to mess around with her all the time while at it, doing CQC, testing decoys and such, having to kill her while she was begging for her live and Venom looked away before shooting her was what really made that mission stuck with me to this day almost 5 years later, RIP "Silent Serpent" you were my favorite soldier of the Diamond Dogs.
28:21 That's actually a pretty interesting detail, because in peacewalker, snake had a conversation with huey, snake said that he believes in santa claus.
Fun fact at 14:30 if you extract the mute guy and hire him for the diamond dogs, he will have a name with “Silent” in it. Mine was “Silent Basilisk” And also, when you use the advanced scanner (when you press triangle on ps4), if you view his language, there will be nothing, since he is mute. Same thing with Quiet.
Here's a list of things you potentionaly missed: You can kick enemies to death in both games. In GZ you can hear one Johnny's relatives taking a shit inside of a WC. If you put an enemy to sleep who was in a vehicle but diden't notice you and he wakes up and notices his vehicle is not there anymore, he will trigger a unique conversation with CP asking if someone took it. If you use the tape of "Solider with Stomacahe" while hiding inside a WC with speakers on, enemies will get close but will eventually let you be and will walk off. If you aim a flashlight at an enemy who has thermal googles equiped they will be momenteraliy stunned, much like the water pistol. Shooting the Pilot of a Gunship will cause it to inmidiatly spin out of control and crash, it's actually quite hard to do (at least in my case) but it may save up ammo. Killing prisoners will cause Miller and Ocelot to be understandably angry at you. In the Mission Pitch dark there's a burnt down village, if you wonder around it you can trigger some comments from Miller and Ocelot. During Skull Face's long ass monolouge you are able to put on and take off the night vision googles at anytime. You can also scan enemies with the binoculars. If you shoot your own helicopter as it's waiting for you to get on, Pequad will hover up and wait until you stop shooting and will then come down. 2022 update: From @Das Kampffredchen: In the mission Code Talker, if you don't take out the skulls before securing Code Talker and take them out later, all enemies will be possesed. After the skulls are defeated they will fall unconcious, which is very helpful if you're trying to grind. If there's any I missed tell me.
There's a lot more stuff I could've shown, but either forgot to or intentionally excluded, an example of the latter being the abilities of the other "Acquired Tapes". Looking back at this video months later, I feel that I could've shared a few more details, such as the fact that Side Op 111 cannot be completed when playing as DD staff. Hell, Quiet in general, as well as D-Walker, deserved some attention. That said, I won't be making another "Absurd Details" video. The goal of this redo wasn't to be the most complete chronicle of all the hidden features of MGSV, it was to be at least somewhat presentable. The last two were quite literally made in less than a day, and if I knew RUclips would bless those videos with so many views, I would've put real effort into making them.
@@MetricGuard Thanks a lot for answering. I guess we have to respect the fact of what you really wanted to show for this video, I wasn't trying to make you feel wrong because you missed some things. I just felt like it was nesseaary to show some more stuff so others could also know.
I had forgotten about Miller's "Get the fuck out of there!" line in Voices. For a game with content this mature, the language is very conservative and this one strategically placed F bomb hits SO hard because of it. Watching it now, it's straight up hilarious, but when you're playing the mission it really sells the gravity of the situation and gets you in Snake's shoes
Big Boss says "we'll meet again" when bidding farewell to Ocelot after the hospital. This mirrors what Ocelot says to him after two of their duels in MGS3 and what Ocelot says to Solid Snake after getting his arm chopped off in MGS1.
I feel that you forgot to add that when playing as other DD personnel instead of venom your uniform has a metal plate on the left arm for the animations where snake would use his prosthetic, and the arm distraction now sounds as crackling bones
12:16 I can't describe a feeling when you understand all of it without any subtitles or translators. Basically, one of the things which I loved in MGS:V is that when Soviet soldiers speak Russian you can pretty much understand what they're up to even if you didn't capture the interpreter! Although, you still can't interrogate them, it's kind of a cool trick anyways.
13:35 this ones awesome to me, most games would respawn all the equipment or make it so that equipment doesn't appear until the mission starts breaking immersion for players.
@@ceroew4239 Its because destroying it gets you the deployment zone inside any given base so if it came back the game would have to remove a landing zone which would be frustrating.
An interesting observation I had concerning Miller's insistence that Venom say Boss's catchphrase: The first time I played that mission I didn't know that you had to press a button to say his phrase because there's no prompt for it, so I assumed that he just didn't say it. After finishing the game I looked back on that moment and thought that it was intended to be some sort of meta-clue as to Venom's identity, since it would be strange for BB to refuse to say it and I thought it strange at the time as well.
@@A_Stranger2256 SPOILERS INCOMING!!! When the vocal cord parasite infection starts at Mother Base killing of your staff its the Kokongo language thats infected (at least when the 1st outbreak happened) You combat this by finding EVERY soldier that speaks Kokongo and putting them in quarantine before its too late. What the real shame is konami have abandoned fox engine and it is one of the best engines of the 21st century. the source code is probably scrapped or whatever, and they are not even gonna release it as freeware. Imagine if they licensed it like UE. Basically freeware but if you want to monetize it you have to pay % and a licence fees. We would get absolutely amazing games from modders and amateur devs.
Voice lines are probably my favorite hidden details. Just the other day I heard a CP conversation for the first time where if you fulton an enemy vehicle while they're away from it the return to it gone they contact CP and ask them if somebody took it by mistake and CP just tells them to continue on foot. Today I heard a DD staff say "Who you are doesn't matter to me, Boss!" And there's also a conversation between DD staff about how you visit Paz,saying that they've seen the boss hanging out on that area under construction.
Metal gear solid 5 will be considered as a timeless masterpiece, the uniqueness, creativity and smoothness of the gameplay is something I've never seen before in a video game.
@@pxel8198 Episode 51 was supposed to be spectacular. In the artbook, it takes up the last third of the book. They've created a new location for it and started creating cutscenes. It's a real shame that development was scrapped. We can argue about the cutcontent. It's obvious from the trailers that some scenes didn't make it into the game. The arc with the child soldiers was obviously censored, and the burnt village was also cut. We know that Batlle Gear was cut because it was too OP, Kojima himself said that. Kenji Yano About episode 51, he said that they took it out because they felt it was no longer important to the story... That seems like a lie to cover up the fact that they cut the episode because they couldn't finish it. Some developers even mentioned that they didn't create the detailed model of the bike just for the last scene, apparently we were supposed to get the bike as a reward for finishing the story, but this is just my theory. Yano also explained that "Truth" was always meant to be the ending, and like Moby Dick, the second chapter was meant to be 'broken' and with no goal in sight, so that the player would feel the "chain of revenge", not be satisfied with revenge and start pursuing the "phantoms". The characters were supposed to fall into "hell". In many details, the story of Phantom Pain is designed to not satisfy the player, but rather to give him a "Phantom Pain experience". We can argue about what is missing intentionally and what is missing because of the conflict between Kojima and Konami. But it is necessary to accept the fact that the story was never meant to be "complete", that's just the way it is. I recommend reading 1984 and Moby Dick.
It's not a masterpiece in any way. The gameplay is amazing but there are so many problems with the game. The story, boring open worlds, mostly bland and forgettable enemy bases, and lack of player customization in both loadouts (such as not allowing a player to go in with no weapons) and settings (no hard mode) all make MGSV an extremely flawed game. You can't just throw the word masterpiece around without knowing what it means. A masterpiece means that it's absolute perfection; there's nothing to add, and there's nothing to take away. The Dark Knight is a masterpiece for example. MGSV isn't.
Several years on, and it feels like Death Stranding doesn't have anywhere near the level of little Easter Eggs that the Metal Gear games had. Still, I can't complain - MGSV ended up coming out incomplete, so I guess Kojima learned to avoid scope creep a bit more.
Death stranding has a lot of character details to sams animations and voicelines. Mgs has a lot of details tied to enemy behavior, because it features them more prominently, while death stranding is much more empty
@@nood1le EVERY GAME IS INCOMPLETE, some more than others and in mgsvs case its FAR from being on the same level as lets say Witcher 3 or Red Dead 2. It was very obviously unfinished, not because of that cut mission but because nearly the entire second chapter is filler content. You can pretty much see the point where they ran out of time
Almost 5 years since Phantom Pain was released and stills amaze me how detailed is this game, no wonder why I keep playing it. This video is pretty good!
It could have been planned as foreshadowing to the unreleased final mission, but when snake heals a serious wound (like in the prologue tutorial) he briefly suffers red colourblindness. He mentions his colour perception sometimes being faded in one of the early cassette tapes with Ocelot too when they were discussing the shrapnel.
I don't understand why they couldn't just take the Ubisoft approach after Kojima left. Slap together a new map, have the exact same mechanics, and call it a day.
Every bit of clothing actually has these kinds of movements too. I noticed it back when Ground Zeroes came out, your sneaking suit wrinkles in different ways based on how Snake is moving. Very noticeable when crawling. Very cool, definitely took a lot of effort
@@Comkill117 You know what you might find funnier? There’s a video where someone kills one of Eli’s friends and edits the video to make it look and sound like he got the best rank. Included a fake fake out too.
Venom snake being one of the best soldiers from mother base made so much sense to me. I remember in post endgame of peace walker I would only use my S rank soldiers for missions. To me it felt like this soldier is the one who was turned into venom snake.
you're so wrong lol. You know who Venom Snake really is? the medic on the chopper with Big Boss (don't believe me? listen to that scene where the medic talks and you hear it's Kiefer with a change of voice pitch) The medic wasn't 1 of the best that MB had to offer, he was a medic, no soldier. The reason why he's supposedly so "good" is because he lived through all of Big Boss' missions through hypno therapy (lame excuse for giving a medic the role of Big Boss and making him as good as the real Big Boss) You can feel like 1 of your S rank soldiers from PW became Venom, but it's just the Medic from GZ, again sorry to burst your bubble but it's literally in the game (a small detail because GZ is actually finished while TPP wasn't)
DarkDyllon dude it’s not that deep 😂 Correct me if I’m wrong but is there a dialogue referring to the medic as the best soldier from mother base. Or he was just a medic
@@DarkDyllon in the truth tape, ocelote and real bb conversation, they talk about venom's abilities to which big boss says he was the best man they had
The look up part is the most genius way to get the player’s control scheme. If you try to look down you’ll look up with inverted controls now. Such a insignificant mechanic but I love those types of details to keep you immersed.
When I first played 46 I just wanted to be obstinate and ignore the doc's orders. So then I went through the whole mission with that control scheme thinking that it was the game's way of revealing the ending a bit more; apparently that's what I get for not following instructions
I was really hoping you could interrogate the soldier at 12:45 and he'd try and say the phrase to get you to spare him lol. Honestly knowing Kojima I'm surprised he didn't include that.
@@sgt.zaitsev287 RUclips - PythonSelkan Your welcome. Also everyone online has to disarm the nuclear weapons, most likely unlocks something hidden by Kojima (will never happen tho probably).
Random extra detail: During the hospital sequence, when Ishmael gives you a gun and you shoot the two men in the corridor together, if your aim is fast enough you can shoot them both yourself. Ishmael will then remark _"You're pretty good."_ as a hint towards his true identity. Also, to anyone who thinks Death Stranding doesn't have the same level of detail, MULES/Terrorists actually take notice of Sam's footprint patterns. They will not follow his footprints if he's wearing their shoes, but will follow him if he's wearing other boots or none at all.
3:51 ok, that’s *dark.* Real dark. I didn’t encounter this when playing GZ. That pretty much gives a whole new meaning to Paz. She was humming those themes to keep herself from breaking down due to the torture and rape. Man. One thing I didn’t see you mention is that in both GZ and in TPP, you can beat enemies to death. It’s much faster to do in GZ compared to TPP. I’m assuming they made it harder in TPP as insurance so that you wouldn’t kill someone that you meant to Fulton. But you can still kill them. I wonder if that still counts as an injury that the enemy can’t heal? It’s weird, because in MGS2, 3 and Portable Ops enemies could inject themselves with what I assume was adrenaline if you only injured them in one spot. And even weirder is that in Peace Walker enemies could _revive_ dying enemies regardless of their stats.
I don't think that the injection is adrenaline. It's most likely morphine. I do however recall seeing an enemy in MGS3 heal himself on his own. I shot both of his arm while no other enemies were present and once the Caution alert passed he started bandaging his wounds.
Bengamerls Yolo can’t tell for sure, but same effect. That’s the sort of detail that I imagine would carry on in the series. I don’t remember if MGS4 had anything of the sort, but it’s odd that they took out the revival mechanic from Peace Walker. Would make certain enemies high value targets
There are also bigger details. Someone mentioned Shining Lights is the same mission as Prologue Awakening with roles reversed. You're the one with the scary flashlight on cleanup detail. Hence "Shining Lights"
same here I got mad when somebody showed me the extra content on ps4 basically artwork and in game cinematics for the next area on mgsv that never happened but I had no clue there was going to be another new area for mgsv.
It's both Kojima and Konami's fault (we obviously don't know the real reason behind their outburst to each other) But we do know that Kojima was spending insane amounts of money (which let Konami forcing them to release GZ seperate from TPP) If Kojima didn't hire Kiefer Sutherland that would've saved a lot of money, since David is iconic, loves to do the voice of Snake AND is cheaper overal.
DarkDyllon I mean Kojima wanted to replace David as big boss for a while now and Konami already broke even with their MGSV budget on ground zeroes alone, they should’ve gave Kojima more money but I think we can all agree David is the better snake.
Assassino275 Konami broke even with Ground Zeroes alone. If that wasn’t reason enough to know that a $40 demo could bring in $80 million that the full game could bring in more it would be insane to not let Kojima have some leniency, especially since games have been getting more expensive to make, the minimum budget for MGSV should’ve been $120 million, not $80 million.
There's one not mentioned, and a pretty good one. Just look at the reflection inside the helicopter at night (better if there is lightning). One thing that they make you do the beginning will make sense (and potentially spoil all the damn game).

What I thought was the funniest shit was right at the beginning of ground zeroes when it shows you how to roll there's this hella long cutscene of the badge getting dislodged from your pack and then it just kinda pops out and you can pick it up
@@etrs Everything about it was designed to be like that. It's an overdramatized re-enactment in the vein of a war propaganda film. When you get hurt your screen doesn't get bloody, it gets burned like a film melting.

Here is some more details: The SV Sneaking suit has both the FOX and XOF patches in the phantom pain. The XOF patch is hidden behind Snake's pack based on Ground Zeroes. Another detail is a diamond dog ribbon printed on the back of the wetland camouflage.
I think the coolest detail is that Snake uses his forearms to block the blood flow in Chico's carotid arteries, causing him to be knocked unconscious with no danger to his health.
33:57 the translation is off, code talker is speaking Lakota (my language) and phonetically says "Hoka-hey" not "Yate-hey" we never had a written language, so they've written our language phonetically, so I never got why they fucked up the spelling. Edit: at the end of the clip he says the same phrase in english "today is a good day to die" which is taught and lived by all Lakota. it means that you should always be ready to die, that you should always live your life without regrets.
On the mission when you're extracting quiet, you can see D-dog in the co-pilot seat in the chopper very briefly (assuming he's your buddy). It's only the back of his head but it's definitely him lol.
First, after playing Peace Walker and then Zero Grounds Paz humming Love Deterrance is a cute PTSD trigger no wonder wandering soldiers react to it also, that implication of Kojima (ofc being self inserted as a DD himself) being sympathetic towards Huey is something that see for the first time after all this years and quite an interesting concept.
Kind of wonder why did Kojima decided to make Huey so.. awful in Phantom Pain. I liked the guy in Peace Walker and yet here, Huey was a complete asshole for what he did.
The change is not so abrupt because there were hints in PW like how he stole old designs instead of coming up with something original, being the antagonistic kind like when he first meets snake, not fraternizing that much with the rest of the MSF staff even if the game is a little light hearted compared to 3 and V looking for an easy way out to depart from Coldman and the constant butt kissing. Then there's also the smaller hints like being petty about santa claus or how his latest wife cheated on him
Neat detail about the hamid figters death at the hands of the Russians, its the same animation as the red band trailer of the prisoner at camp omega being "let go" and killed.
Yep. Contrary to popular belief, the scenes people think were only in the trailers are actually present in the game in some form. Though it's not like it really matters; Kojima has tailored cinematics exclusively for trailers since MGS2.
The entire Metal Gear series has a litany of Easter Eggs. Things like Snake perving on women in their underwear and Raiden being insecure about his hair. Check out the other games too.

@@germantarnoski7130 i've always loved that about this game, their ability to adapt to your playstyle never ceases to amaze me (even if it's probably basic)
I love TPP, but I was disappointed that none of its missions were as complex as Ground Zeroes. Since Ground Zeroes was certainly originally intended to be in TPP, I think it's fair to say that GZ is the single best mission in MGSV. So many ways to complete it and plus there are all those neat ways to get intel. I was hoping that TPP would have audio puzzles like using Chico's tape in GZ. That shit made you feel like Big Boss (not even trying to meme, I legit felt like a super infiltrator piecing together Paz's location during that part lol). Phantom Pain's missions seem a little too similar to each other in that regard. Still one of my favorite games, just wish it had lived up completely to the standard GZ set for it design wise.
At least we can see that KP first makes the spine of a game then refines it with details so one of their incomplete games ressembles a full one from a lesser studio
@@scottjohnson926 Through a mechanic the wiki refers to as Demon points which are gained by actions like killing soldiers, prisoners, DD staff, animals etc. The Demon points are deducted for doing "good'" actions; extracting animals, puppet soldiers, children, etc. The higher Snakes Demon points gets he changes between 3 states, normal for having a Demon point total of less then 40 000, Horned where the metal shard becomes larger and starts resembling a horn first reached at 20 000 points but if you return to normal you then gain it at 40 000 or higher, Demon the horn becomes significantly longer and Snake is always covered in blood this is first gained by reaching 50 000 points and if you return to horned it will then take 80 000 to regain this form. I’ve seen you defend this game in the comments of the [OLD] video Metric Guard and can I say I’m glad to have found someone who fucking understands MGSV. To shorten my thoughts down on why MGSV gets so much shit, it’s my belief that the complex characters and their conflicting ideologies not being spoon-fed to the audience in a 30 minute long monologue/cutscene like the previous games (not that that was entirely bad mind you) pissed off the people who had grown used to being told everything rather than having to use their brain to figure out certain motivations and causes of events within the plot for themselves. Amen to you man, keep it real.
Well you see with the lack of characters in the story at all kinda makes this shit hard like listening to tapes is fine sure but I rather have some damn cutscenes they are beautiful and amazing also the gameplay loop was ass just running around the same empty open "worlds" the weapon selection was weaker then Peace Walker and frankly this is just me but Skullface was an under used villain like he was there one min gone the next then boom dead you don't really get to spend time with him or any of the characters really plus the game felt like it wasn't even finished just feels rushed out like their were so many ideas that had to stay on the floor and never made it to the product like Chico was a demon and outer Heaven was suppose to be in it an all sorts of big crazy things but we only got 2 chapters of a 4 chapter story
Garret Woeller skull face wasn’t underused, the whole point of his existence is for him to be forgotten yet he’s probably the most important character in the series as he’s the reason all of the shit in the previous games has happened directly or indirectly.

The first time I played that mission I didn't know that you had to press a button to say his phrase because there's no prompt for it, so I assumed that he just didn't say it.
After finishing the game I looked back on that moment and thought that it was intended to be some sort of meta-clue as to Venom's identity, since it would be strange for BB to refuse to say it and I thought it strange at the time as well.

I recommend reading 1984 and Moby Dick.
lol no
It's not a masterpiece in any way.
MGSV isn't.

Your welcome.

*Cowabunga it is!*
Wait what NO
Oh god
Wait wah... NOOOOOO
@FindingmyDeen welll in episode 43 you have to kill your men soooooooooo
*S T O N K S*
Random extra detail: During the hospital sequence, when Ishmael gives you a gun and you shoot the two men in the corridor together, if your aim is fast enough you can shoot them both yourself. Ishmael will then remark _"You're pretty good."_ as a hint towards his true identity.
Also, to anyone who thinks Death Stranding doesn't have the same level of detail, MULES/Terrorists actually take notice of Sam's footprint patterns. They will not follow his footprints if he's wearing their shoes, but will follow him if he's wearing other boots or none at all.
21:21 I love how to this day, none of the henchmen seem to believe anything suspicious about cardboard boxes.
29:24 "Fuck them kids"
Wait Paz was being raped? I knew about the torture but not the rape.
@@antoni2606 the 4th tape is pretty explicit about that. It’s... clear that you can hear sexual acts being done to her against her will
I think I accidentally killed someone by beating them in gz before I was like "well shit he's dead"
There are also bigger details. Someone mentioned Shining Lights is the same mission as Prologue Awakening with roles reversed. You're the one with the scary flashlight on cleanup detail. Hence "Shining Lights"
Holy shit

Well spotted to whoever discovered this originally.
God I wish this game was finished and Kojima was given all the time and money in the world
same here I got mad when somebody showed me the extra content on ps4 basically artwork and in game cinematics for the next area on mgsv that never happened but I had no clue there was going to be another new area for mgsv.
It's both Kojima and Konami's fault (we obviously don't know the real reason behind their outburst to each other)
But we do know that Kojima was spending insane amounts of money (which let Konami forcing them to release GZ seperate from TPP)
If Kojima didn't hire Kiefer Sutherland that would've saved a lot of money, since David is iconic, loves to do the voice of Snake AND is cheaper overal.
@@DarkDyllon Yeah, Kojima's spending is definitly what did it.
I don’t get it
@@AbhayPathak104 Spoilers ahead. I don't want to ruin the game for anyone.

At the ending, you realize the character you are playing is not Big Boss. He is a random soldier that had plastic surgery and hypnosis that made him think that he truly was BB. In the faint reflection you can see that, at least subconsciously, he is still the avatar you make at the beginning of the game. The ending, hidden in plain sight.
Steven Jaw wait so boss’ reflection shows up as the created character at the start of the game in a reflection when in the helicopter? I know the ending of the game but never discovered this Easter egg
@@louiswaze4603 Yes. You can barely see it at night during the whole campaign. If a lightning strucks, you can see it better. I made my char blonde and with short hair, so I could see it somewhat easy.
I never knew that one, that’s a really cool detail if spoilery
10:18 You can hear the OG voice of Snake, David Haytern speaking on the intercom in the background.

What do you expect he would do in this situation
I loved that detail because I found it myself. I speak Russian so when I first started playing I randomly stumbled across that Dialoge not knowing how detailed the game is, awesome attention to detail. I immediately knew the game would be good.
Lmao If that soldier ever meets an american he’s fucked. Assuming BB didn’t already kill or abduct him.
So technically he would have met an American
Big 9 Yeah, but I doubt Venom _or_ Big Boss would have been angered or offended by that line, just silently confused, probably. In BB’s case likely slightly amused.
What I thought was the funniest shit was right at the beginning of ground zeroes when it shows you how to roll there's this hella long cutscene of the badge getting dislodged from your pack and then it just kinda pops out and you can pick it up
Played GZ for the first time yesterday, it happened
I love how overdramatic the cutscenes in that game were
@@etrs Everything about it was designed to be like that. It's an overdramatized re-enactment in the vein of a war propaganda film. When you get hurt your screen doesn't get bloody, it gets burned like a film melting.
Honestly, that saved me from getting spotted as someone was investigating a noise and I was rolling into cover when the patch cutscene happened. Afterwards, the guard acted like he never heard a thing
13:19 I wonder if he will say “I spent last night with your girlfriend” when you question him in the game

Something the military actually teaches too
I've recently started play MGSV and felt like I was playing a game that just came out, not literally a 7yrs old game, what a masterpiece
33:57 the translation is off, code talker is speaking Lakota (my language) and phonetically says "Hoka-hey" not "Yate-hey"
we never had a written language, so they've written our language phonetically, so I never got why they fucked up the spelling.
Edit: at the end of the clip he says the same phrase in english "today is a good day to die" which is taught and lived by all Lakota. it means that you should always be ready to die, that you should always live your life without regrets.
Well I don't know how they came up with Yate because I clearly hear Hoka.
MGSV is not just a game of the year. Its a modern classic that set the bar of what video game masterpiece is.
On the mission when you're extracting quiet, you can see D-dog in the co-pilot seat in the chopper very briefly (assuming he's your buddy). It's only the back of his head but it's definitely him lol.
Well he gets to sit in front since he's a good boy.

Paz looking like early 2000's Eminem.
Lmao
She has so many identities maybe she is the real slim shady.
I was sympathetic for Huey. Then mission 43 happened and I wanted to skin him alive and tie him to a support beam on mother base
Then there's also the smaller hints like being petty about santa claus or how his latest wife cheated on him
@@nightshroud9671have you forgotten boss’s team in MGS3?

As I heard people say, Chad Otacon vs Virgin Huey
Neat detail about the hamid figters death at the hands of the Russians, its the same animation as the red band trailer of the prisoner at camp omega being "let go" and killed.
Yep. Contrary to popular belief, the scenes people think were only in the trailers are actually present in the game in some form. Though it's not like it really matters; Kojima has tailored cinematics exclusively for trailers since MGS2.
The entire Metal Gear series has a litany of Easter Eggs. Things like Snake perving on women in their underwear and Raiden being insecure about his hair. Check out the other games too.

Another thing is when laying prone in deeper water, Venom will keep his head up higher out of the water than normal.
I felt so much pain in that “AUUUUGGHHH” when Kaz dies. You can just feel the desperation in Snakes voice as he says “Im here to get you out”
It's also the same scream that big boss makes when Mosquite dies in his arms during the MSF Attack in ground zeroes.
That bit about the water pistol is why I invested in the upgraded ones. Also unfortunately they don't kill Huey on the spot

Its probably a decoy. When you sneak to places enough they start to be placed.
@@halipatsui9418 wow, I did not know that
It is a decoy. Enemies adapt to your combat style and sometimes copy it. If you always go for headshots, they start wearing helmets. If you inflitrate at night they start using NVG and flashlights. If you use decoys, they start using decoys.

Something that I haven't seen commented is Venom's horn grows based on the actions the player takes over the course of the game.
how so?
I really recommend looking at the wiki page for things like point values and a more in depth look at the mechanic which I couldn't show in this summary.

My appreciation for the games story has grown over the years.
He’s a phantom like venom, he dies fairly quickly but the War Economy era is all due to him.
@@iterationfackshet1990 yeah I know but what I'm saying is all the shit he does may be implied but he is just meh I wanted more from him since he is an MGS villain like he ideology is pretty cut and dry it's certainly different then most villains which is why I like him but as much as he is a phantom you think the two phantoms would interact more.
@@garretwoeller7669 "Chico was a demon" lol. You saw the unused Chico concept art and made this comment? Oof. It's just a concept art. Scenarios, characters, locations and literally everything chances during development. Concept arts are not some sort of "blueprints" of the game. They are called concept arts because they show concepts that may or may not make it into the game. If you look at any concept arts for any movies or video games you will see things that are not present in the final product. By this logic, literally all existing video games and movies are incomplete. Same goes for whatever unused asset you find in any game's files.
