    Great video Gareth as always, so well filmed and presented. Our expectations are always high given the lovely settings where we fish but we take what is given. Lovely gurnard, they look almost prehistoric. Hope you are feeling better. Funny how we seem to pick something up when we start to relax. Having maintenance chemotherapy prior to bone marrow transplant which will hopefully sort me out and get me fishing again. Don’t underestimate the mental healing power of your videos, and I thank you for that. Tried lure fishing a number of times without success! Plenty of good size bass being caught on the Kent coast in fairly shallow water to big worm and crab baits. Shalom and best wishes Dave

      Hi Dave, I hope you're doing ok given your circumstances...keep going and stay strong! Thank you, it wasn't one of my better videos but I guess it was better than having no video at all. As you say, sometimes we make assumptions as to what we're going to catch but I guess we can't control what's going to take our bait, every session is different! Yes the Gurnard was stunning, such a great site in fairness. Sounds like there's a few fish about down your way, hopefully you'll be out there soon, having a go yourself. But there we are, I guess there will be another opportunity later in the year. Yes that Gurnard was stunning, I'd happily catch them all day. We get three varieties in the UK - Grey Gurnard, Tub Gurnard and Red Gurnard. I'm almost better thanks, another couple of days and I should be sorted. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend. Great video, as always, brought back a lot of memories for me... not fishing ones, but remembering the hours & hours of bouncing around in a rib & practising beach assaults/ landings!!....it was a long time ago now but the scenery don't change!!
    Stunning looking gunard, they are such a pretty fish & good eating too!!

Yes the Gurnard was stunning, what a great site that was, they give a cracking bite! I was on holiday in Weymouth all last week ,sunshine wall to wall ,was chatting to a guy and his lad ,he had tried every hot-spot in Weymouth all week and nothing, he was well cheesed off ,i then said we had wind from the east all week and as the old saying goes "wind from the east the fish bite least" ,he said he will remember that next time ,if your ever in Bowleaze cove ,fish in-between the 1st and 2nd little points to the left of the funfair as you look out to sea ,theres 2 small white lobster pot markers out there ,theres a 8 foot kelp bed out there full of bass ,i used to spearfish out there ,but be prepared to loose a lot of tackle if your fishing from the rocks ,i also used to kayak fish out there but packed it all in ,good luck

      Thank you bud, appreciated as always. The tide tomorrow is a bit small for St Brides, the water will just about reach the rocks and it will be very shallow. As usual another great video with beautiful music. Have to say having never been to Chesil in my younger days only looking at it from Portland Bill it looks like you have to have your wits about yourself fishing it. Not a place to turn your back to the sea on windy day I reckon.

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'm getting there thanks Jeff, almost recovered now. Yes Chesil can be a great place to fish but if the wind picks up it can be a little dangerous too, the swell can be intimidating at times.
