Love the dream sequence to 2 weeks later on your babies 💖
Plant mail is always a mood booster. Even if it’s your mail 😊.
❤❤❤❤❤ love that you are in your pj's for both of the videos!!+
Oh I’d absolutely love that orchid. Beautiful choice
I like the that lavender succulent ❣️ 🌵 ❣️
Omg that Orchid.. at the end when you showed the new growth & we could see how it grows at the bottom, gave me such fairy forest mystical vibes. I don’t have any Orchids. Might need to try that one. Looks like it’s doing well!
Jewel orchid is really pretty and the leaves are unique
I quite enjoyed the 2 week update clips in this, nice to have immediate satisfaction of how they are doing! 🪴
So much for another great video, my dear friend, and loved all the things that you got. Thanks for sharing your beautiful new plants with us. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year with all your family
3 months ago I was in the mood to treat myself with a new plant but i really wanted to get smth out of my confort zone so i got a variegated hibiscus and OMG I dont regret it. Easy care, incredible colors, grows like a beast and gave me beautifull big red flowers zhat you can use for tea once they are done. Really recommand it
Love to see you giving orchids a go!!! I have several different species of orchids and I grow them all in a moss/bark mix. I make like a lasagna with layers starting with moss and ending with bark (sprinkle in some slow release fertilizer) in orchid pots with holes on the sides. I like clear pots because it helps me gauge the moisture. If I see even a smidge of humidity I wait to water. Usually I go about once a week with the watering. My orchids are literally THRIVING. I’m sure you’ll work your magic with it like you always do.
I've got the same bulbophyllum and I have it potted in straight moss. They love moisture (much more than humidity) since they have quite fine roots for an orchid. Don't ever let them dry out completely. They are slow growers so if you kill off the roots it may take a long time until new ones appear and it may not survive until then. I put mine in a diy self-watering setup and it's been great for a couple years now.
I agree, damp sphagnum is def. the way to go
Pings are so cute and love that they catch those nasty fungus gnats. I bought one ages ago and it has produced so many offshoots, that I separated and put inro glass jars filled with sphagnum moss. They are flowering adorable little purple flowers at the moment. The orchid you received, when flowering, looks like something from the Addams Family. Creepy, but cool!!!! Thanks for another fun unboxing. 👍
I felt like I got new plants watching my this Ty Ty
I’m loving the relaxing music with the update pics this rainy morning 🥰 such a cool haul!! Thank you for sharing!! 💜 Tamara
Thanks for showing updates!!! Love your new plants. 🪴
My lone Bulbophillium is "Tremulum". It grows great in my Milsbo, but no flowers yet. It's a crazy hairy red one!
The orchid is interesting 🤔 I hope you get to enjoy lots of blooms 💐💚🌼
We just visited a huge botanical garden on the Big Island of Hawaii, spent hours in there ooooooing and awwwwwing at everything, hubby was shocked at how many names I knew but so many I’ve never seen before, phenomenal experience ❤❤❤
Good looking plants. That orchid with huge pink flowers is beautiful!
Yay PJs! Here for it 👏🏽
And another Ping 🥰
I'm just a big fan of the Madagascar palm, an rhipsalis there is so many, an I am falling in love with variegated fat cactus there is so many cool cactus I never thought I would have cactus in my collection but there have there own stand now i have over 300 plants an probably 25 cactus an 25 euphorbia then well over 35 succulent. Lol but when you have a collection this big its nice to have alot of easy care ones. Love you an glad you got these new plants to perk you up I have been battling spiders mites an cancer lol... So I have had casualties due to both but my son for Christmas said he's going to buy me a albo monstera witch has been my top number 1 wish list plan
First yay!!! Sick but here for Fern and her planty video!!! 🌱
awww feel better!!!
It's 5am here in Western Australia. It's going to be 39C here today, so am up to greet the sun and water my gardens before the heat kicks in.
holy smokes!! hope you have a wonderful day and are able to keep cool!
@@wildfern yep, airconditioning is pretty standard here and I run a few water coolers in my sun room for my plants. I just bought a big shade sail and some spray misters to put up outside before summer, but I think it is hitting us early. Plant growth is phenomenal at this time of year. I'm off to the hardware to get a hose connector and some sphagnum moss.
@@wildfern was nice having my morning coffee with you 💕
Hi Fern! I was just watching your latest vlog and you were talking about saving up for an iMac, so I wanted to send you a donation. I love your content !
!!! oh my goodness, you are too kind. you absolutely didn't need to do that, but I so appreciate your generosity 🥺💚 wow thank you!
Ooooh can’t wait to see the orchid blooms! 😮❤ Love all the unboxings
My favorite succulents I have right now are my Bears Paw “Cotyledon tomentosa”, Green Beans “Crassula Congesta” and Pink Ice Plant “Oscularia deltoides.”
I HAVE THE BULBOPHYLLUM LONGISSIMUM! its super easy and bloomed for me quickly! Kept in my ikea cabinet at 50/60° humidity with a led grow light. Sooo gorgeous blooms!
Omg amazinggg!!! So cool that yours has bloomed 😃
Plant mail vids are my fav! Happy to see you fern!
I recently got a nephentes st Gaya, my first carnivorous in general, and I stumbled upon pings and they are so cute!! I can’t wait to have the space for some!
Love your videos there very relaxing and interesting listening to your point of views on plants thank you.
Bulbophyllums are so easy!! Good choice!!! They have the best flowers too!! Just keep in sphgnum and don’t let it dry out too much!
Fun variety! 😎 Me trying to pick off the orchid sheathing through the screen in that 2 week after close up. 🤗
With the second succulent was the purple color from stressing.
Good luck with the orchid! Honestly I find those sorts of orchids WAY easier that phalanopsis for some reason. Maybe that's just me but I've rotted almost every phal I had and am keeping a bunch of different orchids with that growth pattern (mostly from crystal star too) alive no problem and have even gotten a few of them to rebloom
Two boxes of plant mail in one day 🎉🎉🎉😀
Hooray, your first orchid! I just got mine to bloom despite the fewer hours of sun this Autumn (it took lots of fertilizing!!) ❤ 🌺
Excited to watch you achieve your first orchid bloom 😊
Paphiopedilum orchids are my favorites! I love their growth pattern, their flowers are super impressive and some species leaves are spotted/ variegated.. so super beautiful to look at when not in bloom 😍
I’m not a succulent girlie myself either but I’m obsessed with the Echeveria Lola! It’s got purple and turquoise ish leaves and a matt „finish“ ✨ I think you’d love it, too!
I've always consider phalaenopsis' pretty easy and resilient plants. I keep them in chunky, airy bark mix, once it breaks down, they're prone to root rot. I water them by rinsing the pot with water or by placing it in a bowl for 10-15 mins (do not water by pouring water into the pot) if they're extra thirsty. I water only when the substrate is dry and the roots turn silvery. I do not put them into small decorative pots, they need airflow, otherwise they turn moldy.
For my orchid recommendations: zygopetalums and paphiopedilum are easy to get and care for (very simmilar to phals) so are oncidiums (fine roots, suggest growing in sphagnum), cattleyas have beautiful blooms, aerangis have stunning chains of white flowers, miltonia flowers look like pansy, bulbophyllums or draculas for funky flowers .. my favourites are Dendrobium chrysotoxum, Laelia bahiensis and sedirea japonica :)
I have a saxifraga stolonifera tricolor which is really fun to grow. The pink edges are gorgeous. Maybe something for you as well? And I grow my own Christmas tree/plant: Araucaria heterophylla.
A also tend to pick up a couple new plants in late fall since I know it's my last chance for a few months. I justify it the same as you. I picked up some plants from a local seller this weekend, I got a H. polyneura broget/silver, H. Polyneura albomarginata, cutting of a H. Wilbur Graves China, and a Syngonium Aurea cutting all for $62 😊
Love that you got another ping! Also orchids can be addicting!
What's up Fern hope you're having an incredible day love this video I made a big pot of spaghetti it is so good I put meatballs green pepper and I gave some to my neighbor he 👍🙂
Very cool Fern good luck with that Orchid I can't wait to see that wild looking Flower Love ya Honey.❤😊
Love all the planty mail, so exciting and I'm glad they're doing well. My recommendation for orchids would be of the mini variety one I have and is doing amazing and never skipped a beat when I brought it home is Schoenorchis Fragrans it even bloomed for me this summer. And the other, is on my wishlist, is Lepanthopsis Astrophora (Lepanthe). Both have the most incredible tiny blooms. I hope this takes you down the mini orchid rabbit hole it did myself, I'd love to see what you think.
Fernnn I am so glad you got a fun funky orchid, I have probably around 25 myself of a bunch of different genus and they are so freaking fun and rewarding! biggest thing I have found is to not move them around much, I have most of mine under some cheap amazon grow lights and they love them, 8 of mine are either in bloom or spike rn which is so fun for a usually slow growing winter. Also, mini phals are literally known for being drama queens, I have lost a handful myself but it doesn't stop me from picking up a new one at the grocery store whenever I get the chance. Excited to see updates on em!
I’ve ordered a few Pings from California Carnivores and they arrived in great condition and have grown. ehlersiae "Cotton Candy" and esseriana are two favorites. Hopefully they will bloom in Spring. I love your videos and have learned so much from you! Thanks!
Such a fun haul! The bulbo orchids are nice, I don't have that type in my collection, but when you are researching it, see what you can about their scent! I have about 50 orchids in my collection, and I find the Dendrobiums and Cattleyas can be very easy growers and bloomers! Good luck with your new babies!!
Thanks so much for this video! I watch your planty videos during my daily relax time.
It’s nice to see this so I don’t watch a repeat like I do 😂
Congrats on the new babies. I just made my first orders from them this year, couldn't believe it, like you said , I couldn't believe how big they were . Might have to look for that orchid , that's a really cool flower. Definately will be checking them out again. Thanks for sharing
I THINK YOU WOULD LOVE A NEPENTHES MIRANDA BIG COLORFUL PITCHERS AND LONG PENDANT LEAVES
Nice haul 💚
Girl, I’m in my pjs all day most days. Not only do I work from home, but I’m wrangling a toddler as well 🤣 pajama as much as you want queen!
“I don’t know who I thought I was ordering this!” 😂 you crack me up! I’ve only successfully grown jewelry orchids so I am not much help. But the blooms! #YESPLEASE!!
You definitely need to look more into orchids.
There are just so many different genera with the coolest blooms ever.
I love the Phalaenopsis subgenus Polychilos.
They have the cutest star shaped flowers with all color variations and even delicios smells.
They can rebloom multiple times from the same flower spike and i have one with an 80cm long flowerspike and they are just the cutest.
But thanks for the great video.
Still loved it with all the different plants :)
Bulbophyllum definitely love humidity and medium light, maybe it’s a good ideia to keep it inside a cabinet
oh that's perfect! it sure seems to be enjoying being in the Milsbo cabinet so far :)
Three super cuties ✨ I’m so glad you got a succulent and now I’m inspired to bring all my succie bois indoors and make a cute dessert cowboy/cowgirl shelf for them 😍😍😍
Stopppp this idea is SO CUTE. Speaking of - I just got a cowgirl boot propagation vase 🤠👢
@@wildfern Oh my gosh that would look perfect for your succulent shelf!!! Having a one off ufo or alien planter in the shelf would be cute for a space cowboy/cowgirl theme 👽🛸🤠
ONG!!!! I am so unbelievably excited that you have an orchid now!!! Bulbophyllum are so fun and I have the same type that you got and it it’s so fun to grow! I’m really really excited to watch you grow it, as an orchid person.
ahhh so great to hear you're excited! I've started watching some care videos on them and am falling down the rabbit hole hahah I already want more! so neat.
Cuties 🥹🥹 I love CSN! 💖
right!! fantastic plants and such kind folks
Great plants!! 🥰
I am the proud plant mom of 1 small peng! Idk what variety lol but am now obsesswd. I want to add to my collection of 1! Would you share your care, location, setup of your pings. I know you shared some a while ago, but your current/ new home peng habitat?? Luv ya and your channels!!
I have a Oncidium Tsuki Marguerite and it’s a type of orchid. Also known as the ‘White Shower’ orchid and it’s so pretty. It’s a smaller leaved orchid and has the tiniest blooms and tons of them. I haven’t gotten it to bloom (had for almost a year) but it’s been a pleasure to keep
Do you still have your vanilla orchid or is that the one you are talking about that died ?
That orchid is sooooo cool. The blooms to me look like squid hahaha.....please let it live and bloom, that would be awesome!
I really hope it does!! Will definitely update :)
They have such cool plants!! I went totally overboard last week for my birthday so I’m kinda glad they aren’t shipping until spring. I’ll definitely be ready to shop again by then. 😂
I purchased a bulbophyllum ornatissimum back in April and it grew like weed(just leaves). I got worried I wouldn't ever get any flowers and just recently got it to bloom! I got a whole 6(!!!) flower spikes. 🥰🌺
Oh my gosh that is sooo exciting! Congrats on your bloom :)
hey fern, loved this video! the succulent you bought is also known as a ‘moon stone’ plant. i have a blue ish one and the growth is very rewarding and very easy to propagate 😊
Hi Fern. I’ve had Lavender Pebbles for a long time now,it gets some direct sun to get a nice color,so if you start seeing the color go dull it’s not getting enough light. Mine is outside all year round but I live in a dry, very hot part of Australia, tough as nails!
That orchid is insane,it does look like fish swimming upwards! 💚🪴 Natalie
I didn’t know lavender pebbles get that big!! Mine are much smaller
I was expecting it to be a fraction of the size lol!
@@wildferntry not to touch the petals k? It takes the ‘sunscreen’ off of it and also makes it look ‘muddy’? lol. Idk my words!
@wildfern Naomi is right, the plant cuticle on succulents will be damaged when touching. Overall, it will weaken the immunity of the plant ober time, which is sad - they are so cute and squishy 💚
@@myriamsonanini3796 .... thank you for knowing your words!😆
Very cute 🌱👍
💚🌱☘️🌵💚
Love your nails 💅🔥👍😁
Hi you need to get a phalaenopsis schilleriana, she has amazing leaves and scented flowers, so beautiful, and easy to grow :D
Succulent suggestion: Haworthia venosa tessellata. Haworthia are easy care in my experience, do well in a range of light. This one grows pups like crazy and has a cool reptile pattern on the tops of the leaves, and the leaves have that window effect like the cooperi 💚😁💜
So excited for this 🥰
enjoy 🥰
You can do a ping video for us and we might see one we want to get.
A few I have that might interest you.
Pinguicula laueana CP2 x emarginata - Gets big, nice red/purple coloring the leaves.
Pinguicula cyclosecta - smaller but with a nice red color to the leaves.
Pinguicula gypsicola - This is a weird one. Green but seems to cycle between two forms - one with long leaves and one where it is very compact. If you search images of this one online it looks like two different plants.
Just ordered a bunch from crystalstar. Excited to try them out.
Ahh fun!! I love their plants 😊
@@wildfern Received my second shipment also from Planthaven tornotno and I'm so happy with them. Thanks for recommending. I ordered from Aurea and every plants was crushed, you can see the difference in how the plants get packaged from plant haven. Especially on the begonias.
If you're interested in more unusual, experimental plants, I'd like to point out the Medinilla Magnifica, it's a Plants from the Philippines and try as you might, you will not find information on it on the Internet.
They're also known as the "Phillipine Orchid" treating them like an Orchid has worked for me
Nice! I treated myself to 10 new plants today (bought them in person) of various sizes. I can't wait to get them all settled in. Do you like African Violets? 😃
fern you are so cute
congrats on your orchid! i am on an orchid rush right now (i have like 15 maybe 😅) and also just picked up my first bulbophyllum! i also got dendrobium, miltassia, coconut orchid, and paphiopedilum! we’ll be on this journey together :)
I haven’t even seen the plants yet and I’m already excited for you!! New plants are so much fun!! 🪴🥰🪴
awww thank you!
Hi Fern ♥️🌱 I’d really appreciate some advice for first starters on how to help your plant get used to your new place specially when you live in a cold city and where it’s really hard to find (or so expensive) growlights and such things (I don’t have a cabinet so I thought put the on plastic boxes) I just bought some really cute Singonium and I’ll be heartbroken if they die on me 🥹
How often should you water 🌊 💦 little succulents that size? I think I let mine dry out to long 😮❓
That P. Hankula is so cute 💦🌿 very costly for such a little guy, but cute none the less🌱💦🌵
Suggestions: GoldenEye, x Bronze Butterfly, Moranensis var. alba San Cristobal, Mexico, Marilyn Monroe, St Elmo’s Fire 😊
I don't understand succulents at all :( I can't tell when they are thirsty, can't tell if dead. Tips?
Love this haul!
“If I can keep this alive and if I can ever get this thing to bloom for me I’ll probably croak because their so cool”
Haha, made me laugh and I love orchids but if I had to choose it’s gonna be you over the orchid every time 🙏🙏🙏
Early afternoon
Af omg
hellooo haha
Hey Fern are you still using a Sony zv-1 for filming (skincare is perfection)!?? Thank you!
Yes I am! Thank you ☺️
Fern do you keep the plants that you order and keep in the pots and substrates they come to you in or do you get anxious and repot them all?
I usually wait quite a while to repot, unless I find reason to do so sooner!
Day 2 of asking 😆. Will your potting soil mix work on non aroids ?
Which plants are you wanting to use it for, specifically? I usually adjust it depending on what plants I'm potting!
@@wildfern For example., pothos , maranthas, microsorum diversifolium etc
@@wildfern 🤔🤔
If it blooms for me I'll croak lmao dead 🤣🤣
💚💚
Has anyone gotten plants shipped to the US from Crystal Star Nursery? I'd love to support them but I'm in the Southeast of the US.
I don’t think they ship to the US unfortunately 💚
I think I said “that’s what she said” 3 times while watching this one 😂 (it’s bigger than I thought it would be)
Girl! Never apologize for wearing pajamas or repeating outfit. We’re all friends here 🤣 we all do that. 👌🏽
Don’t you live by a swamp? (I swear I recall you saying that at some point; that you lived by a swamp and not a river). Maybe that’s why your pings bounce back so well, because you have the air conditions for them. Just a theory.
(Many Pings are also native to British Columbian Swamps)
