I paid 100$ for an albo wet stick a couple years ago. It took FOREVER to do something. Maybe 8 or 9 months. One day it put out the most beautiful marbled leaf. She is my prized possession. ❤
I love the idea of mini favorites segments being embedded in these videos! I love hauls but find monthly favorites on their own to be a little bland lol. This was a perfect balance! ❤
That perlite tho! She THICC 🤣🤣 Maybe you could put a handful of the jumbo perlite into a large ziplock bag and lightly crush it to form smaller pieces?? Just a thought! Good luck Fern lol
Sad to see the favorites videos go, but glad they'll have a moment in the reset vid! Resets are helpful and definitely motivating! I'm putting my laundry away before work lol but the parallel is super helpful! Loving the hair btw 😊
The jumbo perlite is great for Anthurium. :) I have a bunch of those big bins, too. Love them. I am generally a bin person. But then I also refill my soaps (dishes, detergent, etc.) into uniform bottles as well as spices, dishwasher tabs, pasta (into glass jars). I can't stand visual clutter, not even behind cupboard doors. So this was very satisfying to watch.
My plant room is a card table in the middle of my kitchen. My bins if amendments are stacked underneath in bins. There are two bins on top. My coco coir and my potting mix. There is no other place in the house to do plants except I. The second bedroom but my roommate is not a plant fan. So unless he moves or I evict him it’s off limited to me.
I placed my first PlantHaven Toronto order last night, and I'm glad that I remembered at the last second to use your discount code 😅 I checked off 2 wishlist hoya's and I'm super excited 🥰
I’ve had similar spots on a hoya and in my case it was because of edema. happens when your plant dries out and you give it lots of water. cells in the leaves burst because it gets overwhelmed with water 🙂
love the jumbo perlite for my orchids and for repotting my big monsteras. So satisfying to watch your potting supplies fits perpectly in the new bins that fits perpectly in the closet. BTW loving the nails.
The way you've organized your potting ammendments is really lovely! I have a much smaller garden, so I have a bin of diy mix, and then the leftover gets tucked away in a closet 😂
regarding throwing propagations that refuse to grow away, my mantra is: where there's green, there's hope. I hate clutter, and have a habit of throwing things away too quickly. I have been walking away from the bin with a plant in my hands, while reciting this mantra, haha.
I use the jumbo perlite from them, and i break it into chunks with my tools or hands :) I find it super helpful and beneficial to have customizable sizes within one bag!
Yay organization!❤ I have 3 planty spaces, so i have a cart or shelf in each spot with my most essential supplies (pest treatments, fertilizer, chop sticks, watering cans, pruners, etc) so it's all convenient. I compulsively restock when something is getting low, but i feel like that works in my favor 😊
Hi Fern! Just watching the part about your Wilbur Graves spots. I have the same spots on my Latifolia Snow Queen and it’s because she was too close to my Barrina grow lights. Since I’ve moved her back, none of her new leaves have them. So maybe it’s since you’ve moved yours under your grow lights too? That’s what I’m thinking 🤔 anyways back to watching the video and doing my Planty chores! Hope you have a beautiful day 🥰❤️
Ohhh plant organization... I have a corner in my basement but it's not well organized and every time I do a repot it's a complete disaster. (it would probably help if I could part ways with extra nursery pots). A monthly reset sounds like a great routine to get into! I let some of my planty tasks go for too long.
I love organizing and cleaning. I did that to my basement last Saturday. And purging ! 😅 everything looks so crisp and clean and wonderful Fern ! 🌿💕☀️🙌🏻💫
Those spots on your Hoyas leaves look like “sun stress”. Some Hoyas (like Carnosa) don't sun stress pretty and will have those dark spots instead of a nice red or pink. At least that's what it looks like to me.
I also have most of my planty stuff organized in a closet and on a shelf. That way I always know where my stuff is. 😂 But i don't prepare my fertilizer in big bottles. As great as that would be. But the PH can change pretty drastically once the fertilizer is in the water for longer. Not very good for a lot of plants. Especially anthurium. 🙈 Also i really love these types of videos with smaller sections and different things to do.
Everyone does monthly favorites and I do find them boring. I enjoy when people talk about favorite plant products or accessories but not so much favorite plants.
Yaaayyyy!!! I love your book collection as your plant collection 😍📚🌿there are some that I already read like Circe (homaigush, I love THAT book so so much 🥰) and want to read Tommorow, and tommorow, and tommorow. 😁 I love your videos soooooo much, it´s so relaxing to watch and listening to you as well. And after seeing video of your collection of Hoyas, I fell in love even deeper (for Hoyas 😅) so I´ve purchased the Hoya compacta and variegeted too 😍 they´re babys at the moment, but so cuuute, so smol, I can´t 😍 that´s all from your fan from Slovakia 😇
Hoya Wilbur Graves is my #1 wish list plant! Hopefully Plant Haven Toronto will be adding some on their website. I really loved this new video format 💚💚💚
love love your videos!!! I’ve always loved monthly favorite videos, but I like this style as well, also, watching you pouring amendments into bins was so satisfying😄
Gosh I love reset videos. Thank you for sharing with us! Sorry your other videos aren’t doing as well :/ I love all the content, plant chores and plant-specific info videos as well. I’ve not been as active on RUclips bc it’s been a crazy semester, but I’m trying!
I think it is moisture on the leaf. My Hoyas that live on my bedroom windowsill get moist from window condensation and end up with black mildew on the leaves that I wipe off with a little diluted rubbing alcohol. See if that works!
I love watching all of your videos, you have such beautiful energy and I like hanging out with you lol 😇you inspire me to be more organised so I'm off to order some planty things I need as well. XD I wish you a lovely February from Romania! 🤗
Looove watching you organize everything 😍 got me inspired now. I want to do this, too. The bags that soil and amendments come in are so awkward to store sometimes. 😫
I believe you can break the jumbo perlite up by hand into smaller pieces. (Sorry if I'm saying something you already knew!) Also, I really enjoy the plant haul/updates with the reset videos. Keep it coming!
I have a plant cart that is drawers. I keep tools, plant Velcro, moss poles and small pot’s in there. Also houses small trellises, my plant mat and orchid clips. I too, keep substrates in labelled bins. 😀🇨🇦
This has been a fun video. I found it interesting that your favorites are not highly rated because I was getting tired of them. Maybe every few months. 3 or 4 months between.
I gasped when I saw the wilbur graves! its so beautiful! I have two cuttings in perlite i'm growing out and the new growth looks amazing I hope it grows to look like yours!
Hi Fern! I'm like you, my supplies get tidied and I label with my label maker. I switched from having a watering day to doing it in five days which gives me time to clean shelves and just care for a specific number of plants at a time. I ❤these reset videos and I like seeing your favs of the month. I also have a jewel orchard and she blooms in the Winter too!
Your Hoya Wilbur Graves looks so amazing i am still on a hunt for one. That Hoya Mathilde Silver looks gorgeous too. The other Hoyas i want are the Chelsea, Gundung Gading, Obovata Variegated splash and Rotundafloria. I tend to just do a plant mix when i am repotting my plants as i go. As keeping them in the plastic box containers or anything plastic i notice it gets wet and alot of humidity. I guess if you have loads of plants and doing regular repotting is ok. I have down sized my collection i have 50 plants now. Out of 150 when i moved into my new home. I think having 50 - 100 plants is very manageable.
I’ve been super grieving today due to Alberta’s frickin premier announcing what she did yesterday but you are a breath of fresh air. And you’ve encouraged me to get up and organize something. Do what we can, when we can, where we can, right? ❤️
Looks like a fungal issue on the hoya wilber graves to me. Probably like you said caused by moisture. Also I notice fungal issues on my plants when they're too cold as well. Good luck Fern! I love that plant & want one!!!
I only fertilize once a month and do so on the first weekend of the month for my whole collection! I also descale my humidifier and wipe down surfaces where there are plants. It takes pretty much a whole day (sometimes even into the next day) as I water at the sink and I’m also doing laundry and various other chores.
I just recently saw a maharani and I should've grabbed it! This was love at first sight plant😭💕 I love yours even more Fern. Idk if my connection was bad I didn't the details on yours clearly but I knew... I knew lol
Happy February, Fern! Also, Happy New Year.🎉 Tomorrow is Groundhog Day. Let's hope we don't have to relive it over and over. I'd rather relive Christmas🎄 over and over. Cheers.☺
Rousseau uses chunky perlite like in his mix and it’s great! Honestly jumbo is so nice because you can use it for so much and it’s so airy and fluffy. I recently got some that size too and I added a bit into my mix
Love the content, always relaxing and motivating me to look after my own plants :). I know Fern has mentioned before what app she uses for her lights but I can't seem to remember which video I've seen that in, so if anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it. 💚
Hi Fern, organization is a beautiful thing and saves so much time!! Your jewel orchids are so beautiful. I have a different type of jewel orchid, and they can bloom a couple of times a year, and the blooms on mine have lasted as long as 3 months. And the Orchidia bark is the very BEST in my opinion and is so worth the money. It lasts so long. Loving the reset videos so much. ❤❤❤
Hi Fern! Just had an idea for the jumbo perlite! You could use it like how people use leca at the bottom of pots in no drainage setups? Love the vid btw
Hey Fern!! Loved this video, very satisfying when things are just exactly the right size and you wind up with just what you need without planning it. ✨ Small piece of advice-- if you do want to pre-mix fertilizer, check your labels because some of them go like, inert or whatever the word is, after 24 hours. I'm certainly no chemist so like I said definitely check the labels and maybe research a bit, I'm sure it can work for some things but I've definitely come across fertilizers that recommend using within 24 hours of mixing because after that the concentrate changes. Looking forward to the unboxing, I love those ! and this mashup reset/faves/chores video was spot on!🪴🌿🌱💚
Oh Fern.. I am in a reset now. My cart is a disaster. My cat,George, thinks its for him. I have just bought an oncidium and a cymbidium (i need help) and will pick it up at the SOOS orchid show & sale and hopefully thats all I come home with 😉 I have been laying out my veggie garden plan while watching your video. It's too early for me to start my seeds but I need to look forward to being outside because my autoimmune disease and mental health struggles are taking over.. Have a wonderful weekend! Kisses to Olive 💚🐶
Also that Hoya WG is insane! I ordered one from Etsy a week or so ago and I'm praying that the cutting I get has good genetics! I got it for a literal steal of $35 which is probably the most expensive plant I've bought, but I just couldn't help myself!
Hey lovely 💗 I recently popped all of my Jose cuttings into a prop box with a heat mat and light and drowned them with water 😂 I am so happy that you like all of your plants 🌱 Also your amendments look SO satisfying 😍😍
What about a lightweight pot dressing for the jumbo pearlite?? They look like nice big white rocks without all that weight. And hopefully to help with fungus gnats. Pearlite tends to work it's way to the top anyhow right? 😊
I technically reset every week. I designate each day for a room to deep clean and while cleaning I take all the plants in that room into a little bar cart that I have around and at the end of cleaning while the floor is drying I check the plants for watering, repotting and cleaning leaves but my collection is not as extensive. Then when everything is dry I put the plants back in their places.

That is incredible 🥹🌿

the ORGANIZATION of the soil supplies. Ugh, it's so satisfying!
Thank you 🥹 glad you enjoyed!!
The ultimate thrill ❤
Those bins fitting perfectly in the closet is so perfect! I love when little things like that happen :) the universe is working in your favor!
Right haha! I didn’t even think to measure 😅 so I’m glad it worked out that way!
That perlite tho! She THICC 🤣🤣 Maybe you could put a handful of the jumbo perlite into a large ziplock bag and lightly crush it to form smaller pieces?? Just a thought! Good luck Fern lol
Your hair looks really beautiful. I like that style on you. With the bangs it focuses on your eyes. And you’re wearing eyeliner today. Spot on Fern.
Sad to see the favorites videos go, but glad they'll have a moment in the reset vid!
Resets are helpful and definitely motivating! I'm putting my laundry away before work lol but the parallel is super helpful!
Loving the hair btw 😊
Awe thank you! I’ll prob still do dedicated favourites videos every so often, maybe quarterly instead of monthly 🥰🌿
@@wildfern I love that idea!
Yes, mini favorites and hauls please. I enjoy keeping up with your plants. Happy February! 💚✨🌿☀️
I agree
The jumbo perlite is great for Anthurium. :) I have a bunch of those big bins, too. Love them. I am generally a bin person. My plant room needs a MASSIVE cleaning and organization. As does my basement which has my potting table and supplies. Simply a must for February!
ooooh our basement really needs it too lol!

I love all your videos but I REALLY loved this format today! Have a wonderful day😊❤
aw thank you so much, this makes my morning! 🫶🌿
The pretty Begonia. I love the leaves and color. I'm glad it's doing better for you.
Your hair has grown so much! I love this style on you!
regarding throwing propagations that refuse to grow away, my mantra is: where there's green, there's hope. I hate clutter, and have a habit of throwing things away too quickly. I have been walking away from the bin with a plant in my hands, while reciting this mantra, haha.
The Jewel 💎 Orchid is beautiful ❤️🌼🌱
That alocasia maharani is stunning. Also just wanted to say your nails are beautiful I love that color.
I’m not a Hoya expert but my Hoya Sipitangensis got dark brown spots when it got too much direct sun.
Your Wilber Graves is stunning.
I use the jumbo perlite from them, and i break it into chunks with my tools or hands :)
I find it super helpful and beneficial to have customizable sizes within one bag!

Those spots on your Hoyas leaves look like “sun stress”. Some Hoyas (like Carnosa) don't sun stress pretty and will have those dark spots instead of a nice red or pink. At least that's what it looks like to me.
Absolutely one of my fave videos, ASMR is on point with potting amendments 😊
😊 thank you

Aloha Plant Life has a video of making her own soil mix, can you do a video like that for us? Or maybe you already have one?
I’m kinda surprised favorites videos don’t get views! They are some of my favorites. 😂 to each their own
I love the mini haul/favorites. What a great video. Very detailed and behind the scenes. 🫶🏻
Thanks so much! 😊
Everyone does monthly favorites and I do find them boring. I enjoy when people talk about favorite plant products or accessories but not so much favorite plants.
You're weekly resets are so satisfying to watch 💖💕
my new-ish jewel orchid just bloomed too! It sounds like they like to bloom this time of year!
Current goal: Simplify basic plant supplies to keep things simple. Just swept out my clost with amendments. Both very helpful🪴😊👍

Hopefully they root well. It's unrooted. Fyi beautiful eyes. 😊
Hoya Wilbur Graves is my #1 wish list plant! Hopefully Plant Haven Toronto will be adding some on their website. I really loved this new video format 💚💚💚
Ugh the monstera albo leaf!! Love following btw, you’re my girly that I put on the Tv while doing plant chores and it makes me sooo happy 🥹💚🌱
My ludisia discolor also bloomed in January 🎉
I love your plant favorites videos, so I definitely hope you keep it as part of these!
Yes to mini hauls! Can you crush the jumbo perlite up a bit in a plastic bag with a rolling pin?
that's a good idea!!
I'm definitely in for a favorite segment! Love your new hoya!
Love all your videos, so chilled. Enjoyed this one..i am an organisation fan too. love the favourites video too.

I have the manipurensis hoya. It’s got the cutest leaves, which is why I bought it.
Would love to see another Hoya video from you! Your last one was awesome!
What an awesome job with organizing your closet! It was very inspiring😊 I love your begonia terrarium as well. Thank you for the great content 🤩
Someone else mentioned this but you can easily crush the jumbo perlite into smaller chunks. Super easy to do
it's 10pm here and that's when my lights turn off, it's also 41:47 in the video, eerie vibes as this video comes to an end
eeeep 👀
Can I just say I'm loving the hair style!! So beautiful!! Also love your content, I strive to have a plant collection as pretty as yours!!

I love hearing about your monthly favorites!
This has been a fun video. I found it interesting that your favorites are not highly rated because I was getting tired of them. Maybe every few months. 3 or 4 months between.
The song that you played while you were cleaning your shelf was very pretty.
Fern, I put all my support stakes into a vase on the top of my plant cart.
I gasped when I saw the wilbur graves! its so beautiful! I have two cuttings in perlite i'm growing out and the new growth looks amazing I hope it grows to look like yours!
I love your sweater!
Yay for jumbo perlite!! It does well in aroid mixes, and really any epiphytic plant 💚
Thank you for the nice video 🌿

& i love your planty resets as a favorites replacement 🫶🏼🤓
Hi Fern! I'm like you, my supplies get tidied and I label with my label maker. I love favorites vids and if not on this channel, even on Patreon. Also my maharani from you is popping out it’s third leaf🥰
😍absolutely obsessed with your wilbur graves 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Your Hoya Wilbur Graves looks so amazing i am still on a hunt for one. That Hoya Mathilde Silver looks gorgeous too. Protest at the Leg on Sunday and Calgary City Hall on Saturday. Good for the community, good for the soul. If you can make it, do come!
Looks like a fungal issue on the hoya wilber graves to me. Probably like you said caused by moisture. Also I notice fungal issues on my plants when they're too cold as well.
