My son and I were just talking about being burned out and self care. Came in my room turned on channel…… God is always listening and knows what need. He knew that I needed to see this. Thank you so very much for sharing. ❤
Angela, thank you for this episode on burnout. It was a much needed reminder. Especially the part where we all may need to whine down from the phones before bed. Be well. Love, light and peace❤
For myself, I was taught to outwork my counterparts. Being still is lazy..."you have time to lean...you have time to clean". This is/ was my reality. This is eye opening!
Many of us were taught to push beyond our limits so that became our normal. I encourage you to establish a new normal - one that allows you to have a healthy balance and supports you mentally, emotionally and physically! Thanks for watching!
Thank you Angela and Chauntae for discussing this topic. I’ve lived in a state of burnout for so long my middle name was Soot! But like “the phoenix rises from the ashes “ so have I! Prayer, boundaries, putting myself first, and practicing sleep hygiene are the steps I have taken in becoming ME. Blessings
Angela, this vlog is perfect. I am stuck in the hurricane in Jamaica and needed some uplifting. I told you you are a phenomenal woman. You always know what to do at the right time . I'm behind on your vlog due to internet issues. But I am catching up. I hope you see this comment .
Thank you for this vid. I loved the topic and the conversation. At a big age, I reflect on so many things she mentioned that helps me to better understand the art of rest. The car metaphor was clear and convicted my heart. Much love to you and coach!
Angela I love this!!! It was so needed fir me! I'm a grandmother who is co-raising my 4 year old grandson plus working full time and trying to maintain a relationship. I am stressed out 80% of the time, so I really appreciate this video. It was full of great strategies for self care.. Thank you!
Thank you! I think the hardest step for me is giving myself permission to be selfish enough to care for me without guilt! I am so many things to so many people that when I am in fixer mode, I forget about me! Thank you for this show!!❤❤❤
That's the thing... taking care of you isn't selfish. It's just as important as eating and sleeping and bathing and all of the other things you do daily. You NEED to be healthy and whole in order to operate at your highest capacity and in order to be healthy and whole, you must take care of yourself! Baby steps... You got this!
I absolutely LOVE Chauntae! Her spirit is infectious and she is an amazing friend! So happy to have found you! My love for fashion and Chauntae combined! Im super excited to see this video! Thank you for sharing and the collaboration!
OMG, everything that's been mentioned in this segment has shed light on what I've been feeling. Thank you Angela for this it's been a game changer. I am definitely going to incorporate most of this starting with saying no and not putting myself on hold. Love, love, love this and you as well. Thanks again. ❤
This is great advice I know I need to hear. I was raised exactly this way too and it is hard to break those norms and be a more authentic self. Women are taught to suppress our own needs all the time no matter what. I really appreciated this video!
Yes! Self reflection sets the foundation of everything you want to have and become! Thanks to Angela's encouragement, my channel is coming VERY soon. Subscribe now and turn on notifications so you won't miss the first video 😊
Definitely depressed and burnt out. Everything you described, I’m in the middle of feeling and experiencing. I find it difficult to fall and stay asleep and I don’t work a typical 9-5 so I’ve found turning off the tv, the scrolling or kindle reading and I now use the calm app to help shut down my body so I can wind down for sleep. This was great. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Some key points she mentioned, like difficulty making decisions has been my issue lately. As well as looking at the phone and not feeling like answering it. I definitely need a mental break from work. I enjoyed this video.
Burnout from family issues, business , and as a creator . I find that if I discuss that I’m not ok , it’s ignored or down played. I’m everywhere and everything to others . 😢 Thanks 🙏🏽 for this .
Hey Daralynn. You have to start setting boundaries (start with not answering all of the phone calls, especially if it’s someone you know that always wants something)
Setting boundaries is an excellent start. On a sheet of paper, list a 24 hour period in 15 minute increments in a column starting with the time you usually wake up. (8:00, 8:15, 8:30...). Block off times that are non-negotiable (work hours, appointments that can't be missed, sleep time...). The time left can be filled in with other responsibilities - make sure you reserve time for rest! If something comes up and there's no room to write it in - say "no", move it to another day or delegate it to someone. This is a visual way for you to identify your limits and start setting boundaries. You got this!
What an amazing interview! Chaunte gave us many practical and useful tips for better living! Well done Ladies. Would love to see a follow-up to see results of implementing these ideas. Thank you. This was so valuable💕
The discomfort with rest....phew! I have such a hard time resting. I typically pass out into a deep sleep when I burn out....My husband is trying to teach me how to rest now. & I'm a younger millenial, he's an older one. He just learned the lesson early on after watching his family work themselves into the ground I'm going to try setting an alarm. Any time I try to rest, I end up getting distracted.
You can do it! Schedule it on your calendar like you do other appointments. That way, it becomes something you planned to do instead of feeling like it's keeping you from other responsibilities. Start with 5-10 minute increments and increase it as you get more comforable.❤
Angela! You look stunning!!!! I mean can anyone get more beautiful every time I see you. I can tell you are happy!! Your skin, your hair! Girl, you have it going on! I can tell you are in your groove.
This is such a great topic. I believe this teachable BURN-OUT you all did an amazing job discussing the stages & exploring solutions. Mrs. Collin’s using the analogy of “servicing your car” was an excellent choice to allow us to identify what & why we’re experiencing “BURNOUT “! Such a relatable topic. Thank you Angela for bringing awareness with focusing on a solution oriented discussion.
Hi, Angela, I really enjoy all of your fashion lifestyle videos. ou put a plus on this Episode Knowledge. on learning how to maintain my health mentally in physical and spiritually. Burn out is so real. Thank you and your guess.
