    For the record, there is absolutely no reason to be entirely raw. It is just as healthy and likely far more practical to consume whole grains and legumes cooked. Also, DO NOT use this video on your social media or video channels. You may share the link of course only but DO NOT upload it to your channels otherwise you will get a copyright strike eventually and may even lose your account or channel. I worked very hard to produce these videos and the last thing I need is somebody else beating me to shorts so they can lazily exploit my efforts. It's easy to share without stealing and violating copyright laws. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a beautiful day :)
    While Karyn is a Beautiful example of this potential there are far more examples of people eating many of these foods cooked and raw. Going completely raw maybe challenging for some in certain zones especially without proper variety and time to do this right. Some foods are even more nutritious cooked such as carrots, tomatoes, et cetera and there is reason to believe that mushrooms may be safer cooked, and things like certain cruciferous vegetables potentially as well and even spinach as cooking reduces oxalates even though oxalates really aren't a problem unless you're doing a variety of other things wrong like drinking sodas and not staying hydrated and mono mealing which you should not be doing. Eating a variety of legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices is most ideal. And always consult your physician before making radical dietary changes. For many, like me, it doesn't require a radical change, I just stopped consuming animals and their secretions and just ate more of the things I was already eating. Many of the long time extremely awesome healthy vegans I have met throughout the years eat a very simple variety of these whole vegan foods. If in the event you find yourself having difficulties for some reason consider consulting a nutritionist, dietitian, or physician and ideally one that practices lifestyle medicine since that they practice evidence based nutrition. You may find a lifestyle medicine practitioner through the American College of lifestyle medicine, Love.Live, or Plantrician Project. And remember a vegan is a vegan because they don't want to exploit animals or hurt them in any way. So we find a way to make it work within the 10s if not hundreds of thousands of edible plant options to choose from. We find a way to make it the healthiest way for us, others, and the planet! Live long live strong in peace and love.

      @@jillianlee8557 thank you for sharing and doing all you can to do what's best. This is really a vegan movement that we are talking about over here. Vegetarian's different in that they still consume Dairy which has health risks and is very harmful to the mother whose calves are taken from her So people can steal her baby's milk and ultimately abuse the baby in a veal crate and repeat the process exhausting The mother until she dies prematurely and then is fed to humans needlessly. But you're on the right track just keep learning all you can because health is true wealth And love conquers all.

    I’m loving this interview so far, especially as a person who’s struggled with binge eating all of the wrong foods. I went vegan for 6 months but fell off due to low iron (result of fibroids). I plan to do water fasting beginning of July- if anyone has tips please share!

    • @VeganLinked

      Avoid tannins around meal times from certain teas and coffee, be sure to add vinegar or lemon or lime or something with vitamin c to your dark greens and eat a variety of greens everyday, keep spinach to a minimum, eat baby spinach leaves and maybe cooked, using iron skillet, if you take a supplement they'll take it all at once but break it up into a few times throughout the day, try to reduce menstrual bleeding I think Dr Greger has some tips on that I'm not sure if it was turmeric or ginger... Seed cycling might help also. But the best thing might be to remove the fibroids. A uterine fibroid embolization work really well for my wife. One of the fibroids became necrotic pretty fast and caused a problem later but she had that removed pretty quick in the emergency room. She's better than ever now.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  3 месяца назад

      My wife was able to stay vegan the entire time for many years. It was tough though, the only time she veered away was trying oysters a few times. So worst case scenario eat some oysters once a week or so. But of course be careful of the source. And that's just worse case scenario. Ideally you would be able to stick with the whole plant food such as legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices and a variety of each. Chlorella might be a good iron source also. And if you can stomach it molasses. But adding vitamin c sources to your greens and maybe even to your legumes and other sources of iron should help absorb significantly more iron.

My last hba1c was 4.4, so my blood sugar is technically better than somebody who is nondiabetic. Completely free from medications. I'm Vegan somewhere between 35 and 40 years and 17 of those years Raw / Live. I NEVER looked back. To me, it's the BEST lifestyle anyone could ever have. It changed my life completely. I saw Karyn in a Sunday Tribune Article and HAD to find out what she was doing and how she did it. I was amazed by her youthful glow and unending energy. I had been extremely ill, and extremely frightened by how ill I had become. You have no idea how terrifying it can become to be so completely debilitated by illness. . . . . and how amazing it is to watch it all fall away with simple yet profound changes to our diet and lifestyle. I gave all my pots and pans away years ago. You cannot cook at my house. Like Karyn, I sleep maybe 3 to 4 hours a night and I've done that for years. When your body is not a toxic waste dump you don't need hours of sleep to restore it. I call it a Magical Lifestyle providing us Magical Energy. I try to get others to raise their vibratory rate because it's easy to feel the energy of others once living this way. I say, 'Do Not Hesitate - - Just Do It!' You will not believe the difference proper eating makes in your world.
    Every time I eat a meal I also Bless my Husband who made it possible for me to study and learn all this. I did it for us. I had been ill, and he developed a terrible brain injury which ultimately claimed his life almost 3 years ago. I never take for granted what I learned, or my choice to eat healthfully. My body is not a receptacle for the world's trash and junk.
    All Best To You!

    Great interview! Karyn has so much life, personality, and eloquence that is just so delightful to watch. I loved hearing her unique insights; the story about "Trucker Hat Guy" showing kindness to her dog was very thought-provoking in its lesson about maintaining human connection amidst vast ethical variability. Her ability to engage with him positively despite his obvious bigotry is commendable. I especially appreciate her philosophy that we are all connected and have an obligation to care for one another as living beings, whether human or ant!
    I'd have loved to see a deeper discussion on honey consumption, animal companion diets, the choice to abstain from vaccines/medical care as a vegan, and the vanity aspect, but those topics do tend to open a large can of worms and I enjoy that this channel focuses on the stories of interviewees as individuals without harping on specific ideas. Nonetheless, I'm itching to hear more from her! Definitely gotta check out her channel.

      Sadhguru is cool sometimes but very inconsistent when it comes to animal exploitation unfortunately. Honey is not necessary at all and unfortunately when we exploit animals it inevitably gets out of control and abusive. I should have discussed this with her further but I was probably a little derailed from such a long run of interviews and ultimately focused on the biggest issue of unnecessary animal consumption. • @VeganLinked

      @@Anastasia-oy2zp I don't think it's a good idea either. But I wouldn't say she hasn't aged well. And your observation is plagued with n of 1. The raw way doesn't really have good science to support it anyways. Perhaps it just doesn't have enough. It is intriguing but currently not practical for most people. I think what you meant to say is mono mealing not monotonously however it would be monotonous lol but if someone doesn't think it is or doesn't feel like it is then I suppose that is subjective. Another thing about looks is there's a lot of other variables to consider like sleep, genetics, stress Management, etc. so I generally don't put too much weight on looks. But there are some very raw people who do you have the licks going on. I try to cover a wide variety of lifestyles within the vegan movement. At the same time I do try to interject as much science as I can. Anyways I'm totally rambling... My meal just came out so it's time for me to indulge Thai food.

    Beautiful inspiration. Lost me at a “little honey” though. And turkey feathers it looks like. “becoming vegan” for 28 yrs. By most vegans’ definition though I am all vegan….food, clothing, furniture, car seats, hygiene products, entertainment, musical instrument parts, …Veganism is “to the greatest extent possible” not, nor ever, absolute. We all participate in consuming products that contain animal derived ingredients and/or whose production or collection harms animals ( LCD, rubber, textiles ….thinking casein…some medicine… tested on animals).I worked in a slaughterhouse during the summer months for 3 yrs and severed my left bicep which subsequently atrophied. Prescribing and/or offering advice that is unsolicited is something I am uncomfortable with. Raw vegan food diets seem to always bear the brunt of this phenomenon. Good honest interview. I respect any vegan for the simple fact that they try to live more ethical lives. And if one chooses to only eat raw, then it's up to them. However, I am very careful when I try to convince others of a vegan lifestyle to not make it overly complicated. There is no need to not eat cooked food for instance. It only makes it more restrictive than it needs to be.
    The Academy of Nutrition and dietetics suggest that we aim for whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, veggies, herbs and spices, and I would suggest that we also include mushrooms, even though - technically - they are not plants. And some tofu, mocked meats and plant milks makes it even easier. And of course, take a B12 supplement.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  4 месяца назад +1

      Right, this channel doesn't necessarily promote raw. So, it's all good. Veganism isn't a diet, it's a philosophy. As long as someone isn't eating animals and finding a way to make it as healthy as possible for their life that's all I care about. I'm not raw and the doctors and overwhelming 99 plus percent majority of vegans on my channel aren't raw either. This channel covers all types of vegans though, mostly longtime vegans and moving into lifelong vegans and multi-generational.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  4 месяца назад +1

      there's definitely advantages to cooking though, so I'm with you. Like some things such as carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, spinach, etc... either increase in nutritional value cooked, reduce so called anti-nutrients, etc... But, clearly that's not an issue since there's tens if not 100's of thousands of whole vegan food options within the legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs & spices :)

    • @annaal7480
      @annaal7480 4 месяца назад +2

      I disagree that mass produced vegan food is healthy. It is only slightly better than processed meat produce. Also, nuts and gluten harm me, so there is not one diet suitable for all of us. One has to try and adjust accordingly. When I moved onto wholefood plant based diet from fairly healthy eating vegan, I became unwell. My body was telling me finally what was wrong with me, which was hidden for years behind odd glasses of wine, sweets and all kinds of other vegan junk. So, I feel very well now but my diet is restricted which is fine and worth it. As to cooking I agree, it is healthy too, but raw is always better.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  4 месяца назад

      @@annaal7480 there is not one diet that suits all, but everybody can be vegan. There are tens if not hundreds of thousands of edible plant options to choose from And tailor your diet to your specific needs. If you are raised properly on whole plant foods you would probably have far less issues and may not be allergic to anything healthy like nuts. And there's so many nuts you're probably not allergic to them all. And allergies change over time.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  4 месяца назад +1

      @@annaal7480 corporations making junk food and calling it vegan have no relevance to veganism. Don't convolute veganism with corporate exploitation. Veganism is not a packaged food. Veganism is a philosophy. It is not a diet. The healthiest whole plant foods are the most vegan. These are the most vegan because they are the least resource intensive and least packaged and therefore least invasive to wildlife and humans. And humans are animals, so what's healthiest for humans is going to be the most vegan. Some processed foods are probably totally healthy and fine though. So don't over generalize unless you have science to back up your empirical claims.
