Surfing a Bizarre Island Wave

- When the waves got too big for most beaches there was still one place that could hold the swell. Our friend Rafaski recommend we check an island that has a super unique wave when the swell is maxed out everywhere else. What makes this wave so bizarre is that the beach you are surfing faces inland and the waves only break there because they wrap around both sides of the island forming a wedge. There are waves breaking in every direction making for a crazy variety of rides to be had. you can go left, you can right, or you can go left and right all at the same time. This type of wave allows for rides like you have never seen before.

That was a really great counseling session Blair. You were able to pull information from Gary rather than pointing out things. I suggest that you follow up with a list of achievable goals to track his progress. This way progress will be measurable, not just opinion. Instead of just deleting failed footage, use it for review in coaching seassions. 'See here Gary, instead of being so heavy on the back foot try.... On this wave, you should have zigged and not zaffed'. I love your work guys.

It takes a lot of skill to ride these sloppy wrap-around waves. Skimboarders are better at this than most regular surfers because of the timing needed for this. These guys make it look deceptively easy.
I think what Ivo Ashauer have talked about this wave to us (French crew), maybee i'm wrong...Nice trip dudes.
