Anyone who might not know, you can log into the launcher and pre download the 50g patch meow so when the servers are back on you can jump right in (maybe after another small patch or fix but at least the "big" download will be finished.
Really excited to play Viper. Dual wielding sword job class is what make me buy this game since I've been a free trial player from last year. I hope theres plenty of good looking gear and swords for Viper
I mean its always been Ninja gear 'til now.

Ah, I see, you haven't been to the official forums =^_^=
Been playing since it launched on xbox as definitely had gotten my mileage so far. At the time when Dawntrail gets going, I will have started Shadowbringers (so I know I'm still a ways out before I get to join everyone else). Still, I'm taking my time and enjoying all the classes and leveling them all up. At this moment, I feel like the classes I enjoy most are Machinist, Samurai, and Red Mage (although I have yet to fully explore everything quite yet).
Hopefully when we get to Friday and when the game launches, I'll be able to start working towards Dawntrail and maybe get going with it before the summer wraps up.
I guess my only other thoughts on these recent updates was the whole thing about the "action change settings" and how deep that might get. From what I gathered something like the 1-2-3 is still going to be there regardless, but I do welcome whatever will help to cut down the number of inputs (or to better organize it so I am not flipping too much between the tabs, which can be a touch tricky at times).

I hope you've activated WXHB and Expanded Crosshotbars and that you're not *actually* "flipping tabs" with a controller.
You have more than enough hotbar space on controller to never have to flip any tabs.
100% agreed… i just finished stormblood and i’m in no rush to get to dawntrail… taking my time and enjoying the story, side quest, dungeons etc. i’m mostly looking forward to graphical refresh i feel that’s all this game really needed
@@halosaft I have one enabled for tab 8, but outside of that, I haven’t figured out how to properly enable other variations (while having the second tab has been well enough, but could be better I’m sure).
@@mas8705 I highly recommend just searching like "ffxiv wxhb" and watching a video that goes through all the extra settings and buttons you can add for easier use with controller.
Because honestly, controller has way smoother and easier access to way more buttons than even PC has. *But* you have to actually active them because they're not on by default.
It wish I had done it way sooner rather than figuring out about WXHB 5 years into playing XIV on Ps4.
I really hope they add a zones like bozja and eureka, I really enjoyed those.

They're adding a similar zone set in a Bermuda Triangle-esque setting! Looks like there's going to be lots to do with friends in the new expansion!

Us MMO players are eating well this year. This is starting to feel like it's 2014 or something when MMO's seemed more popular vs today. I was in the original pre-ARR beta and launch but fell off FF14 right after ARR released. Last summer I decided to take my level 12 Mage and get all caught up and now finally can experience the game and the excitement of a new Expansion launch. While I'm an old school WoW player, I really like the vibe in FF14, the community and overall way most people interact with each other vs. all other MMO's. I'm glad I finally jumped in and gave the game a chance. Preordered and preloaded, can't wait!

Atleast 1 glamour plate per job and then 5 extra for "fun" glams!
Or just better manage the space you have available

Hey Lucky! You have any idea if the pre DT glasses items that are level 1 and only used for glamour will be equipable in the new slot, or is it just stuff that was part of the fashion accessories?

Can't wait to be able to play. Don't really care for Viper as it kind just gives me a Ninja feel, but Picto on the other hand I'm curious about but as someone who played Blu and Bst in FF11 really looking forward to seeing what they do with Bst, although I wish it wasn't a limited job.
Viper is nowhere close to playing like Ninja it compares to Reaper if anything
Ill dip into and try Viper since i have a geared 90 Ninja already, with the gear 1 to 1 I might as well give it a spin.
Endwalker: a lot of wow players migrate to FFXIV.
Next expansion: a lot of improvements to blacklist are needed in FFXIV

Really thought it was just me lol Restarted playing not too long ago and was about to quit because of the nasty comments, the WoW style rush rush rush no talk in dungeons (actually had a snide comment thrown at me for watching a cut scene for a trial , now I just watch on RUclips later if I can’t duty support it). Was lucky I took this random chance on this person who just needed one more sig to found her own FC on a new server. Awesome person (the only other one in the FC for now) but someone I can turn to and be a sprout and excitedly share the story I’m discovering with lol

I dunno I think 14 players get their feelings hurt to easy and WoW players can be assholes, I’ve seen my fair share in both games tbh, I’ve seen 14 players say some pretty foul stuff to, and I’ve seen some of the most extreme cases of crying over the stupidest shit in WoW……i think people in 14 are more careful about what they say and how they say it due to a report system that actually works 😂😂😂
I play both games and this is just my observation, met many good people in 14 and WoW
Oh, they dont HURT , but why even deal with it or put it up with on something that i pay for to have fun and escape the negativity of the world around me? I tanked WoW most of my teenage/adult life, well aware how to let player aggro roll off my back, BUT , there is a point where enough is enough and I just dont want to even have to deal with it, because again, I am here to have a good time in my way, sorry if the game forces me into your way with whatever youre doing

Two toned dye is def my most excited for (hope I can make like.. gold toned accents silver) along with silly things like better grass. I'm looking forward to Pictomancer too.

What they are doing for the glasses to be cosmetic, I have always wanted a coat or jacket for same, so when I go into a snowy area I can just put coat on over regular glam, or a rain coat for rainy weather and not changing my entire glam.

Looks exciting! However, since I just started playing a few months ago and just finished ARR last week I do believe it will be quite a while until I get to Dawntrail. I hear there are improvements to the game even at my level so I'm looking forward to that.

I just wish the gathering nodes were more plentiful and in a more concentrated area. There’s like three before you have to get your mount out and travel across the map
What do you mean? There are always 4 of the same nodes right next to each other and they reappear after you harvest the 3rd one.

No as long as you have a level 80 main job you can try the new classes. Has been true for all expansions. Just make sure you buy DT to have access to Picto and Viper
I was rushing trough the story to get to the end for dawn trail then I realized wouldn’t it be better to do the story as the new class and easy level it
The Update broke the loading screen transitions between zones, duties, etc frequent crashing now on the Xbox.
Hope it gets fixed soon.

For sure... The base game was designed to run on the ps3. They get better as they go.

Yeah, each expansion looks better than the last. Remember that the game has been developed over the last 10 years.
The good thing is that the graphics update is supposed to improve from the earlier areas of the game on.

I seen in reviews so much negative reviews but wtf, I'm happy to support square just for they brilliant job-anazing graphics what can play with old graphics card 🤗, what in these days is 30GBP - can't even do small shopping. I'm shit in this game because too old, yours Young's have reaction skills, I just will look movie

Hi :) so I have been wanting to play FF14 for some time now, and now I have the opportunity to download and play it on pc. Would now be a good chance to get into it and start playing? I understand that I would need to start fresh and go through all the lore up until the new expansion, but I've always wanted to play. Is it easy for new players?
its easily one of the best MMOs out right now, 100% worth trying! and its always a good time to start :) just know going in that its not about getting to the finish line, enjoy the journey along the way rather than focusing on sprinting to the end and you'll love it

I'm trying not to worry too much about what other people are doing in the new expansion, I'm just gonna focus and play my way through the very beginning. If you try it for free and enjoy it, then you just buy dawntrail and the sub and you're good to go. You can play for free until about lvl 70 so you've got a long time to play for free if you really want to

A lot of these complaints are from players who don't belong on ff14. They don't deserve this game and should go back to their tablet games. It really is that simple. They don't belong in mmos especially ff14. They probably play p2w games or hop from cod to palworld to helldivers like a true casual gamer.

Expanded glams would be great. I'm still riding the high of expanded housing limits and won't dare to hope for more glams though. Perhaps after all the armors and such are updated? If I recall correctly the wardrobe code is super sketchy anyway and that is why we can't have one in our houses so they could stand to replace it if possible.
@@Xport9 , GW2, WOW, RIFT, they all have working system. I also know they mentioned that the current code makes this hard which means they need to be creative.
FFXIV is a great game. I dont know how many hours i got, but i play since 2015/2016.
The main story is like a bad anime. Meh, predictable, characters written like theyre overpowered children. I dont get it.
The ultimate FFXIV experience is buying the expansion for the cool things (dungeons, new class, new areas, trials) but you have to suffer through that fucking shitty writing to get those lol
Hrmm new dungeons, or in other words, a single linear narrow path with 2-3 group AOE trash pulls followed by a boss room. Repeat for 3 boss rooms. Feels like Im already there!
The Blacklist Feature should be the other way round:
People can't see YOU. Imagine you have a stalker, you blacklist them and they follow you around everywhere you go, but you can't see them.

The Fantasia change is the biggest thing in the world for me, I've regretted changing my look both times I've done it, and in fact I dislike my current look because of the massive difference in the way you look in the creator vs the world, but I have lived with it for like 2 years because I don't want to spend money only to most likely regret it again! This free one will let me actually dial in a look I love, finally, after all this time lol.
Did they do anything to change up the dungeons and boss fights? I mean, we've dodging AoEs, stacking against a hit for quite some time. Any interesting new mechanics in Dawntrail?

Not necessarily true, but nobody with a life. I have 661 hours on Xbox and you could definitely complete MSQ in that time if you focused on it.

@@Matt-dc5xh prolly the games biggest problem is you just can’t do the new content unless you get thro the past story which is good and bad because the story is amazing yet your stuck behind a several hundred hour wall and tbh the post content is the big slow here that that’s forever to get though sometimes
@@user-zr2el2uv7v that's true. Some of it has an unnecessary amount of "go talk to this npc" quests. No need for 100 of those in between xpacs. But on the kinda brightside I guess? Dawntrail has no endgame to miss out on for like another month.

Bought the game today, paid for a sub and cant even play because all servers are closed to new characters??? wtf like their ok taking my money for a game that is totally seized up for anyone new?

I played it on game pass, it was a boring 20 hours. Guy in my free company said it gets better in Shadow bringers expansion. I asked how long until i get there. He said around 200 hours if I do the main quests and a few side things. I laughed and uninstalled
Game really needs a better first user experience for sure. I have 1100 hours played but i agree with you. I wonder how many people will try and get into ir because Dawntrail just to realize they are hundreds of hours away from the actual relevant and exciting stuff
Lmao, I have around 7k hours in game and I can't lie they were spot on and even then it becomes dull again during Endwalker. Though I will argue Heavensward is my 2nd fav expansion behind Shadowbringers. Realm Reborn and Stormblood are painfully boring. Only reason I stay around is for the raids, deep dungeons and modding.
