The fact that Maya gets 6900 live viewers while doing education on TWITCH is amazing. Shout out to her for being innovative with her content
but irl it's just a bunch of horny dudes hoping for a wardrobe malfunction
I've been saying this since her first Animal Sex Facts video! 🤘
Maya, Lindsay Nikole, and Ze Frank are seriously showing us the future of education. _(and others, but these are the ones I watch)_
Had this been the method when I was in school, I would've learned so much more... They're able to connect with their audience and keep them engaged, which is LITERALLY the opposite to our education system! (at least in the US heh)
The classes I had in highschool that were like this, with the teacher being relaxed, talking to us like we talk to each other, and would joke around, were my elective classes of Welding, Wood Working and the various Automotive classes. Which were the ones I actually learned stuff and had stuck with me 25yrs later!
@@DUKE_of_RAMBLE Add Casual Geographic to the list and you've got your Mount Rushmore of youtube animal educators.
6900, nice
@@DUKE_of_RAMBLECheck out Tier Zoo if you haven't already. Also a fantastic approach to animal education.
Editor saw greenscreen and thought "It's my time". We appreciate you mr. Editor
She used some during the stream I think but the rest yes
wait, wasn't most of this green screen stuff done live? what would the chat be watching
@@alveolateYou DO know that nowa days, we have the ability to do greenscreen editing _in real time?_ 😉
Case in point, all the Zoom calls with fake backgrounds, or streamers with versions of their room that's clean (instead of a cluttered mess), or all the VTubers. Granted, the VTubers aren't using green screen, but equally complex by using realtime motion capture to manipulate their avatar. 😊
@@DUKE_of_RAMBLE Yea, but you did'nt awnser. The yt video editor made greenscreen effects after the stream, when it was said 'this was boring so here is some mairo kart'. So @alveolate , the chat most of the time was just lookin at the chalk board, most of the time maya wasn't interacting, pointing or talking about what was on screen and there was a video or image there, it was post editing
@@metarmored Well I watched the original Twitch VoD they uploaded, and from what I could tell based on what Maya said (and also from previous streams), is that this was all done in REAL TIME and everyone who watched this stream *live* saw exactly what you see here. I'm other words, it was not done in post, just like a weatherman's green screen.
_(except in this video's case, as some things were further edited)_
Not sure why you think this wasn't done in real time for everyone to see...? 🤷♂️ Kind of defeats the purpose of being an educational stream if no one can see the content that she's talking about.
10:59 “He knows no fear… possible cus he have no brain” I CANT XD😭😭
i have NEVER seen the nat geo guy be so rude ever 😭 and the "no kisses from mommy"
wait is maya lowkey convincing me to be an entomologist rn

sounds so much more interesting when you realise how many really strange ones there are that we dont know too much about
@@Floatyyy there are SO many things we still don’t know about arthropods, and they are everywhere!! Some of Earth’s most fascinating relationships and creatures are right under our noses without us even realizing it :D
Sounds like a cult
hagfish slime is also crazy in that it's almost entirely sea water. The hagfish itself only secretes a small amount of substance, but that substance mixes and reacts with the water around it to form the slime. The slime is also incredibly strong, so much that it's been dried and woven into fabrics. It's like if you put a jello packet in a full bathtub and it turned the whole thing into one massive soggy spider web. Also if you noticed in the clip with the shark, the hagfish waited until it was actively being eaten to activate its slime defense. This is because hagfish are effectively blind and can't see predators coming until they're literally right there, and also because their skin is so flaccid and detached from their bodies that they can kind of just squish out of the way of the predator's teeth and not sustain any permanent damage.
Bro I know as soon as hagfish came up I got so hype. I freaking LOVE hagfish. Its skin is so fascinating.
Man they really did hagfishes dirty with the name. Could have been called "the slimer" but no we have to make sure everyone knows its a fish!
Maya taught me that bugs are cool unless you're a northern giant hornet, then you punch it in the face!
that northern giant hornet has a family and gotta eat too PepeHands

Side note about the Almond/Cherry smelling centipede at 13:30 - the reason there's likely a debate about the two scents is because Almond Extract is the flavor of Artificial Cherry. So intense almond flavor/scent is what's most commonly associated with things like cherry ice cream and the like.
Never knew that
HELL YEAH WEIRD ANIMAL FACTS ARE WHAT I LIVE FOR
The editing is so good, but also super chaotic and perfect for zoomers. 10/10 execution
Ty ty zoomers are the toughest to teach
Maya is singlehandedly curing short attention spans. I've used your last two videos about mating when teaching my year 12 biology class as a reward and they absolutely love them, only videos I've seen them watch all the way through and not start to get bored or fidgety. Will definitely be showing them this one too! Might lead to some future entomologists...
As an ex bio a level student I would’ve LOVED this, 10/10 teacher
Lmao your username is superfatguy8300. That rocks.
@@cez_is_typing If I may, what are you now?
@@rcube33 I do psych at uni lol
This is literally the shit I subscribed for. The editing, the production quality, Maya’s absolute joy when talking about wildlife, can’t wait to watch her for the next 20 years honestly.
YES
this is the content ever
yupp
It sure is
im autistic and is obsessed with animals, and i had a really long month, and you've just made my YEAR for sure.. I LOVE THIS VID, not only are these good facts to scare away my friends, but also i love listening to this kinda stuff, and also ur really funny :D so ty!! 🪲🪱
Yay! Me too! ❤❤❤ I love animals and just found this channel. I know my husband will like it too because even though he’s NT he also shares an affinity for learning about animals.
The SEA C*M reaction at 11:39 was hilarious. The whole video was very funny and informative too. Well done
Maya, you are a good educator. When that is combined with Danny as editor, it just takes it to the next level. 👍
She's good 'cuz she doesn't 'white-wash' the facts 🙂...
I enjoyed every second of you talking about animals I've never heard before. Green screen is something. Slime eel is terrifying. Please do more of this I love your channel
Just finished the video and i was fully engaged with every second of it. Fantastic concept and execution and edits! Had me dyyying multiple times. (Not dying like a hornet in a ball of fire... Just laughing really hard) 🙃
The combination of Maya's light-hearted education and Danny's supreme editing really makes this a non-stop "oh wow" into "lmao" fest. I LOVE THIS!
Editing is crazy
Definitely Zade Cody ko's editor
this is edited so well, props to the editor 💗
wish it would chill in some parts so i could actually absorb information
@@AB-mi3ne I can see that - Maybe the VOD of the livestream may help? It's a lot longer since things aren't being cut to perfection but you can always skip to the parts you wanted to absorb more!: ruclips.net/video/2d4fc6bAlag/видео.html
15:44 dude, one chatter said " hear me out" LMAO
I should call her
Maya i chose to study biology cause of you and your animal facts . Two years in and I LOVE IT SO MUCH . thank you:3
The beginning of Maya turning into a role model for hundreds of young girls out there who want to grow up and study the natural world. ^_^
Props to Maya for teaching in a funny and engaging way, and super props to the editor for making the most chaotic and awesome 24 minutes and 56 seconds I've ever seen
RAHHHHH 1:05 ERICDOA MENTION LETS GOOOOO
Please do more of these types of vids! Your very good at teaching!
I worked at a summer camp a while ago and two kids were OBSESSED with Thorny Lizards and would NOT stop calling them Horny Devils.
Iirc a Horny Devil (or possibly Thorny Devil) is also a type of lizard! It lives in the desert and dances when it walks in order to regulate its body temperature.
Okay, I checked and it's called the *Thorny* Devil, 'cause it looks like it has thorns on it. Genus Moloch, which is badass af!
That beginning edit goes so hard I love it
i have adhd and this was the most into a lecture ive ever been into
I'm really loving these top-down perspective thumbnails, it really emphasizes the fact that Maya is secretly 4'1
What you do is so incredible. Using social media as a bastion for good while spreading knowledge of animals and being able to teach people in a fun, approachable way, it's just great. You should be proud of yourself. You and the whole team
!
Definitely more green screen stuff, it was extremely enjoyable to watch! The editing was hilarious and on-point, kudos to your editor too!
the editing style on this goes so hard there’s a lot of parts where i couldn’t really tell if it was live or edited and realizing that a lot of it was done live was super cool. i’ve never seen this type of pre-edited green screen quality for livestreams before!!
Looooved it, as a vet student i love learning about different kinds of animals, there is not enough divulgation of insects and reptiles/marine wildlife, so props to you!!
the Nemo clip at 10:10 made me cry out in tears. top tier editing.
This is my favorite series, i love telling these weird facts to friends and family
PLEASE do more of this type of content, I love it so much, also because I can bombard my boyfriend with random animal facts against his will.
The editing on this one goes crazyyy
These videos are such a treat, please do make more if you feel like it! I need more fun animal facts in my life.
The style of the edit plus the topic plus Maya's delivery... this video is terrific. I loved it
8:36 when she was live the background was a forest so I thought she was circling something in the trees that’s probably why chat was saying like squirrel and stuff lol
Watched the stream, and rewatching it now.
Totally worth it, still very funny, and the editing was soo good!
Super fun!
Love these educational videos! The added humor adds a ton to its value. I'd love to see more in the future!
These types of videos are unironically how I found Maya and I liked it enough to subscribe. You actually offer some knowledge to the platform. Please continue!
Would love to see more content like this! Editing and pace of the video was perfect!
Maya is so good at this sorta thing and the editing is outstanding. Good video

These videos are legitimately extremely well made. Recently we had a whole ass nature documentary out of nowhere and these animal fact videos are jam packed with great info and humor. I really hope you can see how important these videos are and keep it up.

Loving this editing, its so entertaining! Great complement to the high quality education without detracting from it.

As a person with really strong arachnophobia I cant thank you enaugh for not only what I already said but also for bookmarking where it ends and that ending being without any pictures! THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!
I’ll keep saying it mayas editor is incredible
these teaching videos are my favvv- thanks maya
10/10 video, Thank you maya .
Enjoyed every second of it 👸🏽
Yes ! These are my favorite types of your videos !!
i’ve gotten to interact w hagfish in marine bio classes and their slime is literally the most bizarre texture. it feels like nothing else in the world. its full of microscopic threads (like spider silk, and almost as strong!). its 99% seawater!!! the hagfish releases tiny bundles of these threads that instantly expand on contact w seawater and expand into this sort of mesh net - thats what the slime is. Freaking crazy.
i didn’t catch the stream but i LOVE this video. the green screen background is super fun and the presentation is really engaging. i hope to see more of these educational videos, this one and the animal mating facts videos are some of my favorites on the channel.
the edits are always so good!
Loved this, I need more. Thank you so much.
The edit is amazing, only makes the animal facts better!! Amazing work Maya!!!
