    I'll never forget my first playthrough. I had one goal: join the Legion. Ulfric seemed like a schmuck, so I was gonna go with my boi Hadvar and take the fight to the rebels. I didn't know about the carriages, so all I had to guide me was a map marker that said "if you wanna join the Legion, get to Solitude." And while I learned the controls of the game and got immersed into the world bit by bit, it was all in service of the overall goal: Solitude. And then I finally arrived. Whiterun and Morthal were the only cities I had seen so far, and they were cool, but nothing held a candle to that first time visiting the capital. It was the perfect reward at the end of a long and difficult quest. Solitude will always be my number 1 location in the game.

    Let me share you my experiences of each city:
    -Falkreath: i pass by it, dont do much here, but, every time i come back, its always a dragon attack.
    -Morthal: Vampire attack every single time, slaughtering everybody.
    -Dawnstar: Pretty chill for now, dont make much trips there.
    -Winterhold: Bandit attack every time, slaughtering every civilian and guard.
    -Windhelm: Racism, nothing more to it.
    -Riften: shithole, tievery, corruption, draugr invasions.
    -Solitude: gosh, stormcloaks, dragons, thieves, always at the gate.
    -Markarth, cannibalistic mountain goat farmer forsword attacks are quite common, P.S a secret locations at the little stream coming down.
    -Whiterun: holy grounds, your true home, the place where you learn how to play and behave, 10/10.
    HONORABLE MENTIONS:
    -Ravenrock: i spend a lot of time on solstheim, i like the island.
    -Riverwood, never forget you riverwood.

I was wondering if you've ever heard of Enderal? It's technically a mod for Skyrim but it completely changes the game to be a new world with a new story. I just think you might enjoy it! All of it is fan-made, and the va is a bit eh at times but that cause they all agreed to do it for free! And you can still play the regular game with it installed, cause it has its own launcher. Just a recommendation!

      I think people like Whiterun mostly because of familiarity. But think about it, like, if you were there. The houses are kind of... shacks. You can see the sky through the roof, and a lot of them are pretty small. The space is use very inefficiently, and being on top of a tall hill in what's otherwise a plain means it'd be really windy. I think it wouldn't be very good to be in if you actually went there. Also the whole area around the city is empty fields. Good if you're a horse breeder or you have cattle I guess.

    • @brandonbeuermann7571
      @brandonbeuermann7571 3 года назад

      @@Altrantis being around fields is a plus. That means you have access to farms and food. Most medieval cities irl were surrounded by fields and farms. Transporting mass amounts of food would be so much more difficult in this era than for us. A city like solitude would starve out way before it had a chance to get as big as it did.

    I generally don't spend much time in Dawnstar, and I tend to find the place kind of depressing, perhaps even more than Winterhold. The wilderness outside of it can be really nice though with the dense snow covered forests.
